Played 5 crucibles last night a and was poisoned multiple times but was easily able to kill the thorn users. I remember it being more deadly in d1. Maybe im mistaken though?

1 ReplyEdited by God Scrubmuffin : 3/16/2019 9:40:19 AMThe perk is utter trash i played 2 matches had fun then it hit me like a truck. I realize how the perk was just bad and rang just damn why use this when i can you any other Hc in my slot. Ps I WANT MY HAWKMOON BACK!!!!!!!!!!!

3 RepliesThat's because Ace, Luna, not forgotten, and curated orchid will all outgun it, and Duke will out range it.... It currently sits at the bottom of the hand cannon pile, and is in need of a serious range buff to help out range luna, and the silly remnant reload should just happen on kill and load up four powered bullets....

The gun is useless in Pvp it is not effective.

Edited by TwoFiveOne_: 3/15/2019 3:52:05 PMWhen thorn first released, it was terrible. Reloading took like 8 years. Then it got buffed around house of wolves (I don’t remember exactly when) and it became an actual terror. It basically did the damage of D2 thorn if the perk was always procced. It also had send it, which let you map people from miles away. After a while it got nerfed, I don’t exactly remember when. But it was no longer a 2 tap, I don’t think the poison lasted quite as long. I think that D2 thorn is a little better than the final iteration of thorn in destiny 1, but nowhere near how good it was after the buff.

1 ReplyI don't like it at all, it's a damn Sunshot. Should recoil like a lunas!
-
1 ReplySomeone shot me with it, I didn’t even know I was shot by it until I glanced at my super bar and saw the debuff. Like seriously, I thought Thorn was supposed to drain the life out of you, not initiate a tickle fight.

4 RepliesWithout perk = Post-Nerf D1 Thorn With Perk = Pre-Nerf Vanilla D1 Thorn It's well balanced and as long as you get the first kill and orb secured you should be good to go on a spree.

The flinch on this gun combined with the bloom and how the Remnants are handled results in very under performing base weapon. With the Remnants buff it’s really good but that requires you getting a kill with the base weapon (have fun with that) and then running over to the dead enemy within 7s to pick up the buff (his teammates will probably kill you before you can make use of the buff). After picking it up you have 6s to find someone else to kill (have fun with that too, if he had teammates around him they’ll probably kill you, and if he didn’t you probably won’t find anyone in time to make use of the buff) Thorn is way too reliant on the Remnants to be viable. It doesn’t help that teammates stealing your kills won’t let the Remnants spawn so that means you either gotta kill steal or go off on your own. Thorn needs some a major buff to its base performance and a bit of a rework to how the Remnants work.

6 RepliesOG thorn from D1 was just the best. But as usual bungie go and ruin the fun 🙁 It also had the added bonus of getting ppl nicely sauced up, so they cried on the forum 🤗

6 RepliesEdited by Snow: 3/14/2019 11:05:29 AMI miss Pocket Infinity pre-nerf.

Good I don’t want thorn to be as annoying in d2 as it was during house of wolves of d1.
-
I used it in a few games today and I thought it was amazing. Been stuck on 180’s for all of Forsaken but using this in PvP, I was very comfortable. Headshots were easy to hit and I even got a couple of 2-taps. I think it’s a very strong gun where you just peak and shoot rather than duel in the open like you would a Luna/NF.

Thorn was the start of the Nerf train that has never stopped. It was way overpowered as you should 2 shot people and just run away while they died. But instead of tuning it, they made it useless. With many guns to follow.
-
Has terrible flinch and the tier 1 burn is glitched or something. Love it though
-
4 RepliesIt must be like the -blam!-ing wild west in crucible at the minute, with everyone going after Thorn 😂
-
I got killed a couple times. Especially if you’ve already taken damage 2 shots and the poison usually finished me off. Actually had a Vietnam flashback moment with it last night. Haha. Haven’t gotten it yet myself.

It's not better than nf or lh in any way lunas and not forgotten play like pc hand cannons the rest have wierd recoil or cone to the shots from my experience

1 ReplyEdited by blade329: 3/14/2019 6:32:12 PMIt was nerfed into oblivion in D1. Sounds like nothing has changed. Thorn was so weak in D1 Y2, that it wasn't even worth using in any activity at all. I don't remember getting killed by it even once. The PvP pansies will be real happy that it's mediocre in PvP.

2 RepliesBungie makes these asinine quests for D1 weapons that are pale replicas to their D1 counterparts and people love it. These grind quests should be for new weapons, imo.
-
Edited by Ray-9: 3/14/2019 10:08:42 AMIt's not good on console imo, if you want a good hard hitting longer range handcannon, use Ace, if you want a close range quick ttk handcannon use last word. (Talking primarys) It also can't compete with LH/NF. Even the Ikelos I used to obtain Thorn was better. Maybe a range buff or catalyst would help, would reduce the bloom a bit.

I got killed once it's so OP

6 RepliesD2's thorn with its orb perk active was D1's standard thorn in year 1. It was a beast back then
-
1 ReplyBefore nerf it was a beast, thanks for share, one less long boring quest to do
-
3 RepliesUr just overpowered. Simple.
-
1 ReplyYear 1 thorn was great yr 3 thorn was not worth exotic slot D2 thorn like d2 last word not like d1 versions
