I voted Titan. Everyone knows hunters are strangely strongest, and warlocks and titans are close. Now, I know warlocks neutral game is worse, but just warlocks supers, combined with their exotics, nudge warlocks ahead of titans. Warlocks have a few more good exotics than Titan. Honestly, rn their probably tied, but with the upcoming oem nerf...

Edited by Smough: 2/22/2019 1:49:12 PMTheir supers put them above titans you say? Hammers is dawnblade but easier to control and use, plus the exploding hammers. Fist of havoc will absolutely shit on stormtrance no questions asked. What is stormtrance gonna do, tickle the titan to death? The completely nerfed to the ground nova warp vs sentinel, which is arguably the best titan super right now? I think you get the picture. AND WHAT EXOTICS!? You think a slightly faster reload can compare to oem?

Oem is being nerfed. Not as much as I expected, but nova bomb will -blam!-ing eat sentinel as an appetizer. Chaos reach will wreck thundercrash or havoc, and still have half it’s super left, and while hammers would beat dawnblade, dawnblade would kill much more people. Yes, nova warp now sucks, but NOTHING will beat a nova bomb.
-
Edited by Smough: 2/22/2019 2:32:25 PMNothing will beat a nova bomb, except for walking away and a slow pace. It’s so easy to avoid it’s laughable and killing the warlock while they are recovering is even easier. Even a nerfed oem is still going to be better than 90% of warlock exotics in pvp. My friend tried using chaos reach, ever time he used it against a super it was usually either a trade or my friend got killed. Believe it or not it wasn’t performing well against other supers. Dawnblade has the potential to kill more people, but since it takes so much skill to do so it rarely happens.

What exotics do titans have other than oem? If you love shoulder charge, I guess skullfort? But then you’ll walk into shotguns, which about 95% of crucible uses. If you use jotunn, lion rampants maybe? Okay, that’s situationally good. Nothing hunters or warlocks can’t do without an exotic. Synthoceps? Okay, maybe, if you can get past the shotguns.
-
Edited by Smough: 2/22/2019 2:41:28 PMAnd what do warlocks have? They can regenerate health after a melee kill with a certain exotic, well good luck considering warlocks have one of the worst melee’s, and shotguns are a thing. They can reload after sprinting for a few seconds and sprint a little faster? Well that seems pointless. They can reload slightly faster than everybody else? Well considering everybody has some kind of reload perk on their weapon that exotic doesn’t really make a huge difference. They can have two shitty melees? Wow that seems so broken /s. What did titans have other than oem? What do warlocks have at all is the better question. Also titan skating on pc negates the argument of shotguns being a counter to those titan exotics.

Warlocks have dire ahamkara. Some of my friends effectively use sanguine alchemy. Geomags, nezaracs is okay, tempests, and chromatic Fire can be very good if used correctly.
-
Edited by Smough: 2/22/2019 2:58:56 PMDire ahamkara is the nova bomb helmet, right? If so then it’s good in pve but I don’t see how it could possibly be useful in pvp unless one kill give you half super. Even so an exotic that relies on the super isn’t good if the super itself is lackluster. Geomags is absolutely amazing... In pve. In pvp, which I hope is what we’re talking about, I suppose the faster charge might be useful? I know the extra length for damage certainly won’t be. But chaos reach isn’t that good to begin with. Crown of tempest is what I feel like stormtrance was balanced around, because with it stormtrance feels ok in pve but without it stormtrance is terrible. Like the other two exotics I don’t see how it would help much in pvp since stormtrance already isn’t very good. The other exotics are either meh or extremely situational. Basically all warlock exotics are either useless or made for pve.

I would disagree with both dire ahamkara and geomags. I have seen them used amazingly in pvp. Kill 2-3 people with nova, which is extremely easy if your not in rumble or doubles, and you get a bit more than half your super. Geomags I’ve heard and seen people get 4 supers I one game. Tempests can be amazing if used correctly. I’m not putting any of these exotics at oem level, I’m just saying that they are good or even amazing.
-
Edited by Smough: 2/22/2019 3:09:15 PMGood situationally exotics that rely on super kills (or in geomags case, damage) are pretty lackluster especially when those supers are easy to avoid. I don’t know how one would manage to get 4 kills with chaos reach.
-
You really only need 1-2 kills for geomags to work well. Skull, as of right now, is broken, and again, can give you 4 novas in one match. Almost all exotics are only situationally good, oem is one of the only exotics that are always good, and again, oem is being nerfed
Honestly, rn their probably tied, but with the upcoming oem buff...
You mean nerf, right? Because it's definitely not getting buffed. Neither word has been explicitly used by Bungie or their representatives, but most would say it's heavily implied that the mask is getting toned down.

Ya, I meant nerf. I’ll go back and edit that
