Next Speaker or Hunter Vangaurd?
The tower now has two empty jobs that need filled, who from the lore or games do you think should fill those jobs.
I think Ikora could make a great Speaker, as for Hunter Vangaurd the only qualified Gaurdian I can think of is Shin Malphur, though I think the story would become dark as hell if he became the Vanguard, since hes pretty much an inquisitor for the tower who gets to kill other lightbearers.
Osiris is too entrenched in the Vex to be speaker, while Ana Bray is too involved with Rasputin, I don't think either could dedicate enough time to do those jobs well.

If i'm being honest i didn't really care to much about Cayde, that's not to say he's a bad character, just didn't resonate as strongly with me. Although there were moments he made me laugh. Like i like Shaxx, The drifter is pretty Dope, i like Zavala even though people may not like his leadership style. Like i get the Forsaken story is like get revenge hunt him down, honestly my first thought was just lets bring him to justice and let whatever court decide what do with him. I just ended up feeling pity for Uldren through out the whole, thing. Plus it's kind of awesome to have an anti hero/villain not dead for a change and we at least get to see the after math. It will be interesting to see the dynamic with his sister , especially the vanguards. If he becomes one, the arguments the trust factor, way to go about a mission will hopefully add some dynamic.

Me, I'll do the hunter vanguard thing. As long as I can drink pricey booze out of my official vanguard mug, while sitting on the toilet of my private bathroom.

Ikora or Osiris are probably the most qualified to become the next speaker but that would then leave the Warlocks with no vanguard. As for Hunter Vanguard I can see Shiro, Shin, Or Efrideet if they can get her to come back.

3 RepliesSince Cayde participated in the “Vanguard Dare”, and Uldren killed Cayde, I honestly think Petra will become the new Hunter Vanguard. Mostly because, I don’t think our character killed Uldren, Petra did. So, she took the Vanguard Dare from Uldren. But, that’s just my theory.

6 RepliesI’m pretty sure it was said in the lore that there wouldn’t be any new Speakers. But, Osiris is really the only qualified one for the role of Speaker if the position were to return. He was supposed to be the Speaker before his exile and was trained for the position. The Hunter Vanguard is a bit complicated. Really, the most logical choice would be to have Shiro-4 as the next Hunter Vanguard. He was established in D1 as a loyal Vanguard Scout and the right hand of Cayde-6. He might hate it (as all Hunters do) but he is the most suited for the job.

I wouldnt be suprised if shiro-4 became the hunter vanguard, as for who could be the speaker: From dialogue hints i believe saint-14 could still be alive (drifter mentions this), he could follow in the steps of the speaker.

Perhaps hunter class can have a vote or small fight for this Vanguard post? The only thing I would say is the current Vanguard's operation is in its weakness state : Zavala is getting darker, and Ikora has started worrying the people around her.

Why can't I replace the hunter vangaurd? I don't care if it means losing my hunter as a playable character. My hunter is a worthy successor to Cayde. He has the vangaurd dare cloak (Caydes cloak), Ace of spades, Gamblers palm and queen of Hearts ship. He's ment to be caydes succesor at this point.
