What would happen if the Flood invaded the Destiny Universe?

Ok, I can already tell that lore librarians in the comments are saying "But both universes have The same common ancestor universe, which is us, so they can't exist together!" Well let me set the scenario up for you: In an alternate timeline of the Halo universe, The Flood won the war against the Forerunners, and the Halo rings were never fired. The infection spreads through the Galaxy until every Organism, biological or not, is consumed. They then become extra-galactic and start to spread to other galaxies. Now lets just say that they found a species in, lets just say Andromeda, found a way to travel between universes. The Flood, always looking for new places to spread, consumes this species and gains the ability to spread through universes. As you can tell, this is very, very bad, as the Flood will now search for infinity for new universes to infect. Eventually, the flood just so happens to come across the Destiny Universe at around the time of Forsaken. They start, for some reason, in Sol, and Billions of Flood forms begin to show up on Triton. But, for some reason, the gateway was closed early and only a few flood forms got through. For numbers, lets just say this is how many forms got through: 500,000 Combat forms 1 million infector forms 1 Proto-Gravemind In comparison to the rest of the hive mind, this doesn't seem like a lot, right? And the Flood don't know anything about this universe. But, luckily for the Flood, A fallen ketch belonging to the remnants of the House of Kings enters the moon's orbit.. And they thought their problems were over... So the ketch is consumed and the Flood now know everything the Kings know. Plus, the ketch is now in possession of the flood, so they can get off-world. Now, lore master mine, what happens now? Get as creative with this as you want!

  • Am I crazy or the Vex and the Flood share... similar traits? Vex are speculated to be a form of "infection" they create minds to control millions of units and they all share a same "mind" it all sounds so similar to the Flood if you ask me. Idk maybe that's just me.

Flood win easily against Fallen, Red Legion Remnant, non-Light humans, and lesser Hive. Ascendant Hive would be a tough battle...Flood would win through sheer numbers alone. They'd also learn Hive sorcery too. . Flood vs Taken.....very hard battle especially with Savathun and Quria in command. Regular Flood are a pain in the ass...but Taken Flood and Taken Flood Infected versions of current enemies....-blam!- that. Then Savathun has more ways of killing her enemies....and infecting. Whichever force wins this battle......would be a -blam!-ing NIGHTMARE to fight. . Flood vs Vex...also another tough battle. In a way this is The Flood vs Mecha-Flood. Both convert organic life by eradication or infection. The Gravemind might give The Vex some difficulty with simulating....a Keymind damn sure would. If it's Feral Flood vs Vex...Vex. Planetary Flood....Vex. Sol System Flood....once again through sheer numbers...Flood victory. Though we don't know of Vex forces beyond the system....though I'm sure they exist. Flood vs Guardians. Feral Flood....easy. Planetary Flood....difficult but doable. Flood might be able to infect organic Guardians...though they'd just off themselves and come back new....or traumatized. Sol System Flood.....through attrition and not combat prowess...Guardians..unless The Flood make a go for the Ghosts. If The Traveler decided to take action....Traveler. No idea about Golden Age Eliksni or Cabal. I'd bank more on the Cabal though. TL:DR Fallen, Red Legion Cabal, regular humans, and lesser Hive......dead Ascendant Hive...Flood victory through sheer numbers. Taken...leans in Takens favor...but would be a tough battle on both sides...and after. Vex...Flood Victory...hard fought though. Guardians....only win through attrition Golden Age Eliksni and Cabal...Cabal have a high possibility.

      • <Flood v us? Hard fight, we might win, we might lose. Flood v Fallen? Flood. Flood v Cabal? Flood... unless the Cabal nuke the whole system. Flood v Hive? Traditional Hive would lose but Ascendant is where questions come in. Vex? Honestly depends. Their adaptability when it comes to causal beings is pretty quick and many things the Flood do are within the realm of physics with few exceptions. Not to mention that the Vex are complicated organisms from the start, they may win. Flood v Darkness? Darkness, easily.>

        • Pfft. All we would need to do is send one nova warp warlock to a eradicate them from existence. Problem solved.

        • Then I guess we’d learn all about the ancient humans again and rename our ghosts! Ghost Spark? Guilty Ghost?

        • The Flood would probably get annihilated by space magic and OP exotic weapons and cry for some nerfs.

        • Guardians would most likely be immune to infection, as they can just kill themselves and be set. Everyone else would be -blam!-ed though

        • The flood basically becomes the op version of the hive, because as soon as a few wizards are absorbed the flood suddenly become aware on how to become ascendent and you can bet your ass their throne world is gonna be bigger then oryx or savathuns The flood in a way is already a casual due to the grave minds and their ability to slightly bend reality and the op telekinesis

        • The Ketch would, for the sake of convienice, crash into the Dreadnaught. They would infect the weaker Hive, but the Ascendants would fight hard and kill most of the Ketch Flood, with the rest infecting a Hive Warship that crashes on Titan. All Fallen, Hive and Sloane's crews would be infected or killed. The Flood would infect a Fallen Skiff and yet again, have it crash on another moon: Io. The Flood would take out most of the Cabal, with the Cabal either retreating, figjting to the end, or sending in haz-mat Incendiors to burn and purge the planet. Meanwhile, the Flood would have no effect on the Taken, if anything, the Taken would take some Flood. The Vex would be at a stalemate, with some Flood being Vex-ified
or you could say... inVEXted hoohahoohaha
and some Vex being infected. I'll add more to this story later.

        • Legendary runs of The Library mean, that I dont want Flood in my Destiny universe. Taken are bad enough.

        • Hmm. This is a good question. Hive vs Flood would possibly be a stalemate. Hive wield magic that Forerunners could never understand and have Throne worlds, so they never really die. Whenever a hive does die in the real world they turn to ash, giving the Flood very little to invest and grow. I say that hive would win that situation. Vex versus Flood would be even more of landslide victory. The vex are robotic, and radioloria changes your cells from the inside out, no matter if you’re a human or Flood. Not to mention that the frames the vex use are inorganic, that doesn’t give the Flood much to ingest. In this situation, the Flood would actually be at an disadvantage if they tried to infest the vex. That’s not to mention the giant constructs and powerful gate lord systems and other shit like that. Cabal...now it gets interesting. Assuming the Flood doesn’t get to their ships, they can easily purge them from the surface. And the Almighty can easily destroy them, even more effectively than the Halo Rings. The rings kill Flood’s food, whereas a star going supernova just incinerates everything. But, if the flood break containment, and get the Almighty, the Cabal are as good as -blam!-ed. Fallen? Really? They’re as good as dead lol. As for the Taken....I think the same thing with the Hive. So landslide win
