Useless power engrams
6 of my power engrams this week have been completely useless. 4 of them have been doubles and all have dropped lower then my current gear. Thanks bungie 👍👍👍

15 RepliesPart of what you are experience has to do with knowledge of the current system. Yes, it is frustrating when RNG gives you a piece of gear in a slot you don't need, the fact that they are dropping under your current level in that slot is because of the current "tiered" system. This isn't explained anywhere in the game, which is stupid, but it is what it is. Weekly gambit, crucible, strikes, story missions, and ALL dailies are capped at 520. After that, all gear drops will drop only 1 light above your current level. Nightfall including score, the bounty were you complete 8 daily bounties for petra, work the same way, but are capped at 540. The ascendant challenge, tier 4 blind well, and the weekly pentra bounties are capped at 580. (Same goes for the first 3 encounters of the raid.) The last two raid encounters, prime engrams, any exotic drop, and I would assume the dungeon that appears once every three weeks are the only efficient way to level up after 580. We asked for a grind, my only gripe here is that I think the caps start a bit too soon and they aren't explained anywhere. Also, its my personal opinion that NO raid encounters should be capped.

"Powerful Gear" engrams. That was what they were called in Y1 and they actually gave you powerful gear. If Bungie did not intend for powerful gear to drop from powerful engrams, they should have changed the name instead of falsely advertising a bunch of activities that end up giving you crap for gear.

4 RepliesSMART. LOOT. SYSTEM. I could've sworn I heard something about that being in place in Destiny. Did I imagine that? It def sucks that complete RNG decides if you can literally play end game content or not. My cloak is (and has been) about ten lower than my other pieces. I haven't started the weekly bounties yet, but I could pretty easily burn my entire week and not get a cloak (1/8 chance). I don't mind some RNG, but def pretty crazy...unless someone knows where cloaks tend to drop???

2 RepliesBungie will 100% ignore this. This is what they want. They create a system that wants you to get repeats in order to extend the amount of time you play. When you get a wasted power drop Bungie feels the system worked exactly like they designed it too. Its positive to them. A person is probably getting promoted based on all the feedback.

1 ReplyI understand this pain, and can agree to a point. Playing 5 Crucible matches for a Powerful Engram when I [i][b]despise[/b][/i] Crucible, just to get a 546 Drop to a slot that is at 550+ is annoying, but it is also part of the grind. We are not even a Month into this DLC and most players are already reaching Endgame. That can be considered a Good Thing. But its also a careful Balance that Bungie must strike between not making the endgame Grind impossibly long (Destiny 1 Year 1) and not making the Grind so short that players are done picking up the controller within the first few weeks, like what happened with Destiny 1's first two DLCs.

2 RepliesMy prime engrams drop at 561 with a 549 cloak on my character and all I’ve gotten this week are gloves and sidearms lower than I have also so I feel your pain I don’t mind all legendaries dropping at plus one if every drop was a way to rank and do away with powerful engrams

Once u hit 580 the end game activities and some exotic drops will be the only thing able to help u it's a way to make u go do the raid

1 ReplyI dunno... I’m at 587, near 588 and all of my drops have been mostly great. I’ve been leveling up about 10 levels or so per week.

8 RepliesThere are certain "power gear" rewards that will drop at level or around 2-3 higher based on your average level (these are your dailies and such). More importantly to understand though is that higher difficulty objectives will net you the larger gains (i.e. nightfalls, Petra weekly bounties, Ascendant challenges, LW raid, Shattered Throne, the 540 Wanted bounty from Spider).

They throttled XP and now they are throttling how we rank up. D2 will never be as fun as D1 because these cock suckers ruin everything. 🖕🏼

Edited by AlexFi1978: 10/5/2018 8:05:51 AMHad it similar this week with my Warlock (again) and unfortunately was with the most powerful ones (Dreaming City) Having done the nightfall, Blind Well heroic, Petra’s Challenge, Ascendant Challenge, Courier Down Mission, the 2 Powerful City Bounties, Clan Nightfall Engram, Daily Heroic Adventure and the Powerful Spider Bounty netted me a +1 increase to Boots and +3 to my Warlock Bond. Everything else sharding fodder. Great sense of achievement....

On the rare occasion I drop an exotic, it drops below my characters power level.
