Upvote If Bungie Should Give The Farm Some Love

Seriously, it's a Ghost Town (except for new players and occasional Y1's just dropping in). I, at times, forgot the Farm existed. It would be cool if the Farm had some relevance again. Tyra Karn is the coolest Cryptarch, much cooler than Master Rahool. And Bungie put her on time-out like she shot the Traveler. Smh, poor Tyra. (Press F to pay respects lol) Maybe give a quest or two that involves her. Or let her sell items and provide bounties. Bungie could even put Tess's greedy Mr. Krabs ass on the Farm. Stash her over there with all that, "You got the Silver, Eververse has the goods." chatter. I dunno, just give the Farm some love. Give us reasons to revisit that new social space you went on about in your marketing and advertising campaign. The Tower is cool... Huge. So many vendors to talk to. But we've been there and had that in D1. The Farm is entirely new. Since we have no Reef anymore (or Iron Temple for that matter), this new social space with additional things to do would be nice. Just take a handful of the numerous vendors available in the Tower and put them on the Farm. Upvote if you agree. Trending... Eyes up Bungie.
Moderator edit: This thread has been moved to #Feedback forum so that other Destiny players can weigh in.   See Cozmo's thread here for more information about the #Feedback tag and its uses. • I can think of 3 things right off the bat. 1) Hawthorne / clan stuff. During the story Hawthorne was all about the farm. It makes 0 sense for her to move to the tower. With her in the farm you could do more clan stuff there. Alternatively we could have a clan "barn" that we could customize with seasonal trophies. 2) Sherpa stuff. Make the farm the hub for guided games / Sherpas. Seekers could go cue up a guided game, and while they're waiting play soccer or some other mini game. There could even be a looking to group up area / emote combo. 3) A unified bounty collection area Put a new vendor there. For some currency, maybe 500 glimmer, you could see / grab all the daily bounties from this one vendor. So instead of traveling all over for bounties you just go to this vendor to grab them all. You can't get armor, weapons, or rank up rewards from this vendor, just bounties. The in universe reason you need to pay to see the bounties is because the vendor is shady, and you have to bribe them to get stuff.

    • Yes and no. Mostly no. Not because I disagree with you, but because the social spaces annoy me. If they allowed me to do everything from orbit, I would never go to the tower or farm. Same with the old tower, the reef, the peak.

    • Put Eververse there so we don't have to listen to Tess constantly.

    • They should never have made the tower and kept is on the farm. They wasted precious dev time.

    • You have to laugh at the fact Bungie goes on about how hard content is, but constantly leaves chunks of it to go out of date and becomes useless.

    • The farm? Whats that? Lol I feel you, the farm has no real reason to even exist. its funny because I actually liked the farm rather than the tower, everything was much closer so you could shave some time going from vendor to vendor

    • The farm is an embarrassment that Bungie probably would sooner forget than go back and do something with it, cause it's a reminder of the failures of vanilla D2. I try to have a good time with destiny , but every now and then I get frustrated when I look at this game, the franchise has massive amounts of untapped potential that Bungie squanders . It's just funny cause the premise of the entire destiny story is us reclaiming the sol system and protecting humanity from the various races who come to pillage our home . But we don't reclaim or resettle anything ,we just kill over and over, all for a city we can't visit (and is really nothing more than a skybox, a plot device or crucible map depending on Bungie's whim) and a people who we never meet or interact with... The farm could have been the first of many frontier style towns in the destiny universe, proof that humanity is making actual progress in the story of taking back our home , filled with various vendors or NPCs with agendas and problems of their own, and the maraschino cherry on top it would be they are linked to the patrol spaces , able to transition between the towns and patrols without going to orbit. Maybe even have a bounty board again so no matter where you are you can go , grab bounties and not have to make six different trips to six different places. It's just a shame that the things I just said will probably never be realized in the game, cause it would help , one of the biggest underlying issues I have with destiny is it never really feels like a living breathing world, and rather like a glorified ( but still very pretty) set piece.

        • The farm should be the real home of the Festival of the Lost. It's already slightly spooky. Let's go full bore with the creep factor.

        • The Farm should be a place all about your clan - When you load into the farm, you won't find other players, only other clan members that just happen to be in the farm - Hawthorne should be a NPC there, selling cosmetics such as shaders, sparrows, ships, ETC - These cosmetics can be purchased for glimmer once your clan reaches a certain rank - These cosmetics are clan exclusive - The clan leader can choose clan colours that will act as shaders - Hawthorne will sell clan class items, a Warlock bond with a hologram showing the clan emblem, a Hunter cloak showing the clan emblem as a patch and a Titan bond also showing the clan emblem as a patch - After a certain clan rank clan members can start spending materials/glimmer to upgrade the barn house at the farm into a research lab. - The research lab lets clan members change 2 of a same weapon mod into 1 mod of their choosing. - The research lab lets clan members upgrade weapons with masterwork cores. The upgrade cost will be 1 less masterwork core than usual.

          • Well it's pretty obvious the Farm has no use. I've talked about this before. The underlying problem with Destiny since D1 is shallow content. The Farm is a perfect example of it. I'm not against grinding, but without any sort of grind and easy to obtain exotics, it's obvious how little there is to do in this game. I think this game should have been a full fledged MMO but this game doesn't know what it wants to be. Social spaces usually have crafting and other activities. All we have are NPCs to talk to and we can kick a ball around....

            • Here's the farm revamp: Hawthorne goes back to the farm, Arcite stays and Dahila comes and becomes the crucible host for that hub. Avrok shows up behind tyra's home and sells masterwork bounties and a wanted bounties, also gives 1 powerful engram wanted for a strike boss. Mithrax goes where zavala was and gives out bounties that reward fallen looking gear. He also gives out 3 heroic adventure missions at 320 light with modifiers, each complete gives 530 softcap legendaries. Seems pretty good and should be available for all players.

            • Tyra Karn is obviously better than Master Rahool. They need an exotic named after her. Karn Age Helm? Maximum Karnage robes?

              • Hawthorne should be at the Farm. I get that they put her in the Tower for convenience, but the in-game reason is a complete betrayal of who she is as a character and makes no sense. Putting her at the Farm would also create an opportunity to make that location Clan-centric, while the Tower is Faction-centric, and you could just come up with new characters to duplicate the gunsmith, shipwright, etc...

                • I always saw the farm as a staging place for the rest of the Red War campaign and was glad to get to the (new) Tower for the wider game experience. I don't think there's anything wrong with that. I'm okay with The Farm as it is. That said, I do like some of the ideas people have come up with. Though, I still like The Farm being the quiet place it is. Perhaps another social space could be carved out of the tower (there's plenty of room) or the Dreaming City (again, lot's of room).

                • The worst part about the Farm is that when Bungie first revealed it on IGN, they specifically mentioned that they did not want to build multiple social spaces like they did in Destiny 1, and then end up fragmenting the playerbase, and have a situation where 1 social space was almost always full, and another was almost always empty. Bungie specifically built the Farm knowing full well that it would become obsolete when you beat the Red War campaign, they built something that at the absolute most had a lifespan of less than 10 hours.
