For those who haven't read it yet, in an interview with FPS news, Project Lead Scott Taylor admitted to the juggler mechanic in Destiny 2.
What is "Juggler": The juggler mechanic basically has the goal, to make you use all of your weapons equally. So when you kill with a kinetic gun, you will most likely drop energy ammo, and vice versa.

Bungie basically had to talk about it now, to dispel the concerns about ammo scarcity with the upcoming weapon slot changes. Of course no details are given, it just wouldn't be Bungie without a scoop of useless secrecy on top - but my concern is not about the mechanic itself anyway.
What bothers me, and what also keeps me from spending money on your products again, is your complete lack of transparency and honesty, unless you want to sell us something.
What kept you guys from just explaining the mechanic shortly after launch, when players realized it's still a thing in Destiny 2? Not that this is or was the biggest issue with your game, but for 9 months people were discussing this, or even went to the lengths of testing it, writing down their results in spreadsheets.
You could have saved those people hours of wasted time, if you were just upfront and honest about your game for once. Yet, you weren't.
This detail clearly shows me what is wrong with your company, the complete lack of transparency on your end. Sure, you are disgruntled about your community, because they're so "ungrateful", or they're "jerks", but did you ever wonder why that is?
It's YOUR behavior that breeds this kind of community. If you don't respect your customers enough to be honest with them, it should be no surprise that they also won't respect you anymore at some point.

1 ReplyWhy does Bungie care so much what guns I want to use? Why does it matter if I want to use my kinetics more than my energies or vice versa? Just let me play the game the want I want to.

2 RepliesEdited by HaouRyuk: 6/27/2018 1:51:08 PMThey feign ignorance far too much, they do things they know the community will hate and then act surprised when the community hates it: Osiris comes out, they reuse Story missions as strikes, community outrage...Warmind comes out, they go ahead do the the SAME THING and say "sorry we let you down"...Yes...Yes you did, you knew that would piss people off and rather than change it, you just did it again...but the community is ungrateful? Throttling Xp, community outrage...rather than admit fault and fix it, Nah, gonna go ahead and double down on it and lie instead...What?! The Eververse, locking so much of the DLC in a store to encourage buying the content...community outrage "we hear you and we'll do better"....Does the same thing AGAIN...How are you ignorant of the fact that people might not want to buy content they already paid for in the first place? It's the faux "we're sorry" crap that's pissed me off at Bungie, guys, take your time, quit pushing out crap, sit down get it together and ship out something complete, don't hold us back, don't slow us down, and don't try to trick us into buying crap we already paid for...Your fans aren't ungrateful because we're jerks..I love you guys, but lately in the past couple of years you've kinda been dicks and then you go "how come people don't like us being dicks to them?"...come one man.

There should be infinite ammo. It is not a survival game, it is a shooter for the most part.

After about 5 minutes of playing I realized there was juggler... Probably a good mechanic for the duel primary system.

2 RepliesWere there people that didn't know this was occurring?

I’d be happy if they ever managed to fix heavy ammo drops.... Wipe a room of yellows with regular weapons while all out of power ammo? No bricks. Wipe out a room of yellows without power weapon but have full power ammo? Room full of bricks. >.<

5 RepliesYou are absolutely misinformed or simply placing your emotions about this all in the wrong places. Bungie has consistently stated, since day 1 of D1, that the usage of weapons is squarely restricted to people not wanting to try new things based on their play style and "If we constantly gave you ammo for your favorite gun? You wouldn't use anything else even though the situation calls for a better gun to be used with your teammates". Juggular is a step up from that solid mechanic understanding. I recently had the opportunity to buy a PS4 for example (check my account) and as a result, I've had to go through the entire game again. Do you know when the jugular mechanic is not active I can keep using a well-stocked gun for close to the entire mission? Juggular when in PoE in D1 forced people, per short encounters, to have guns on which would all do the roles needed for those fights. It's part of knowing what is needed instead of a G-horn answer for everything.

1 ReplyI'm starting to question the necessity of the community managers for this. How in the hell did Cosmo, Deej or Dmg fail to see the truck load of posts regarding the juggler issue? We've had this happen so many times throughout the years, i'm starting to think that they aren't really up to the task for this job.

1 ReplyI hardly pve and im surprised people are surprised by this. Its very obvious, ammo almost never drops for the wepon you are using.

6 RepliesNot answering a question isn't a lie of omission. Not telling you about the inner workings of the game is their prerogative and they don't owe it to you. Before you get butt hurt again, they use ascending terrain to encourage you to jump. You're welcome.

Remember when they applied film grain to D1 during one of the updates and everyone hated it so they removed it almost instantly. Then D2 dropped and had film grain on everything.

I don't really mind TBH

I realized that juggler was included after a couple story missions... no need to write a spread sheet to see. Run out of primary ammo while only using primary and setting green drops on the ground, it's obvious. It ruins the game, especially when the only real reasons to use energy weapons is to drop shields or when you run out of kinetic ammo. I occasionally spray some trash mobs when I start getting low, but shouldn't need to... the energy weapon should do equal body damage to the archetype but have a lower crit damage in PVE. then there would be less of an issue. I know your point is about them informing us, but the reality is that they don't need to especially when it's so blatantly obvious.

1 ReplyCuz, you didn't know about juggler? I knew about it in TTK, and realized it was still there like right after I beat the campaign

18 RepliesWhat we need is a version with infinite ammo so you can spam one gun and infinite titan bubble so powerful that not even your feelings can get hurt and anytime anything happens giant words telling you what just happend pop up on the screen. Dont worry it comes with a 10,000 page manual made of recycled tissue paper so you can cry into it and its all written with crayon in crayons most non offensive colors.

1 ReplyJesus, change you tampon already

23 RepliesThe community has been toxic about the Destiny franchise since before it even released. People have complained and whined about everything they can as often as they can. When it really comes down to it the community of complainers and haters was never and will never be satisfied by this franchise. It does not matter what bungie does or doesn't do you lot will never be happy. Thats why your complaints dont really matter. Because you will complain and complain non-stop. Even if what you are complaining about is something that does not matter in the long run. Why does it matter that juggler is in the game? Those who enjoy the game and actually play it don't care. The only people affected by the fact that Bungie never mentioned it till the article are the ones who dont even like the game. If you dislike the game stop playing it. Stop spending your days complaining about it and looking for more reasons to complain. Do the logical thing and find something you do enjoy and do that. Talk about stuff you enjoy about it and ideas to make it even better. There is a limited time in one's life. Why spend it doing and talking about stuff you dont like? Would it not make much better sense to do and talk about something you do enjoy instead?

1 ReplyI thought it was common knowledge. You don't have to play long to see that is how ammo works.

Dude, I've learned that since D1, thats why I didn't purchased D2 on launch (and that crappy bag in the most expensive version wasn't worth all that money anyway) , and wasn't even on my buy list but the Xbox suffer from a lack of interesting games so eventually I purchased it but at 15% of the release price with all content to date, same stuff with the forsaken, may be I'll buy it but when the price is low enough so I don't even care how crappy it is

There are some power weapons that almost always yield more power ammo after scoring kills -- this includes DARCI, Tractor Cannon, and Wardcliff.
-
I noticed after Warmind came out that I was tapping out of equipped weapon ammo

1 ReplyEvery game that has ever been made has hidden mechanics that you can either learn and use to your advantage or not learn. Why would they tell you everything that is underneath the surface? I mean I remember how fun it was figuring out how to get 100 lives in Mario. That's part of the fun.

2 RepliesThe game is shit

2 RepliesAre we talking about juggler is a strike modifier or are you implying that juggler is active in every single Activity?

It wasn’t honestly a big deal. But they should have been more open when it became a constant.
