Wow... The raid community has become a bunch of pricks in D2. No one is willing to teach anything. Posts like:
"Must have 30 clears no exceptions"
"Must be an expert"
"Must have 50 clears" (yes that was real)
"Must know exactly what to do"
"Don't bother of you don't know what to do"
I know the player base has dropped off by 90%, but damnnnn. It looks like snobs were left. I had thousands of hours in D1 I raided all raids hundreds of times (except WoM, it wasn't fun). My clan knew everything about the raids. TTK we could run prestige in under 40 minutes. We often carried people 2 at a time and ran that one at least 5-6 times a week helping people. We tought people ALL THE TIME.
No one wants to teach anymore. I get it, people just want to get the raid done. I've been there... Countless times. Hell, my characters are 370, 372, 372 and I'm seeing nightfall NORMAL requirements for 370+!!! It's a 270 NF! Even for prestige you don't need to be more than 350-355 (unless you're going for a high score or grinding). We all did prestige at 350 or less. This community is sad now.
Screw all that shit! I'm searching the forums for guardians looking for help. While it looks like i won't be raiding at least i can try to help some kinderguardians and salvage some of the community.
-
Bro, I will help you get those requirements. Don't be mad.
-
Just gotta find the diamonds in the rough. Those of us that will gladly teach are still out here. =)
-
I only play with people that have the same amount of cleares I do.
-
Become? Was it ever any different.

Good post. I just started doing the raids and got kicked out of them for having less than 5 clears. Smh, I didn't cause 1 wipe in next group and beat it in 45 minutes. Maybe it's my better devils with close to a thousand crucible kills that hurt some feelings.
-
Edited by MEGANAUTe: 6/2/2018 1:49:38 PMI agree. When I post In lfg I say don't add me if you think you need 350+ for the old raids. That just means you suck ha. I always help people when I can too. That can be some of the best/fun times in Destiny.

I remember when previous games from Bungie did not require having to make us find random people who want other people to have this many clears and that many things to do a mission. It annoys me that we are pretty much forced to find people, who we don't know, to at least have the chance play the game if we can't or don't have friends who play Destiny 2. Like, I want to be able to raids more often with people but I have friends who don't want to do the Leviathan because not only do they want to wait for one person to come online so we sit there doing nothing for days but they also have never done the dogs encounter and they refuse to do that part in order for us to progress. Plus, they absolutely hate anyone that's a random from the group posts because of those kinds that you see that put out silly demands ane expectations from people to have this and that.

7 RepliesNope. Same as allways! Make your own poste. Probleme over
-
Thats nothing, you should see Bungie.net these days!

I feel they were always around, there are a lot of very friendly and helpful people out there. I just recently met a whole clan consisting of great players who help others, they do lots of guided games and seem to be very fluent in every aspect of the game. I know it can be disheartening but keep looking and you will find some like-minded players who you can have a great time with. I pretty much just have extensive experience on regular Leviathan but if that's what your looking to do then feel free to hit me up anytime.

Elite mentality shows up quick. Im seeing it among the people I play D2 with aswell. Not only regarding raids but other stuff as well. Insecure people needs it I guess...
-
They always have been since d1. They always will be because the raid is an annoying time consuming shit fest that hasn't had decent rewards since year 2 destiny.
-
2 RepliesI don't raid, but sounds exactly like D1 *shrug*
-
2 RepliesThese are the three types of snowflakes, elitists and butt thight players you will find: Crucibabies. Tryhards of the nine. Raiders of the Grind. These are the worst of the worst and the players that caused most of the shit in D1.

"…has become“? LOL

2 RepliesEdited by Galactic Zones: 6/1/2018 5:17:40 PMThis is what happens when Bungie tries to placate the no-lifers and the streamers. They’re to blame for the culture of elitism.
-
1 ReplyI agree with you, but there’s no hope. Most of the people on these forums are just toxic, and will attack anyone who criticizes the community.
-
Yes very true very true. I XD t find a group to help me unless I gage those requirements, I’ve only done the raid once in D2 n that I was lucky but now it’s hard

2 Replies*steps up to podium* (A silence falls upon the massive crowd, two spotlights center on the stage) "Make your own post on lfg, with your own set of standards." *takes a sip of water* "And above all else, make sure, that you never forget our battle cry. When you are charging into the fight and the fire touches your eyes, remember...,"
"...Git gud"
*Matrix style hot and dirty rave starts in the crowd.*

It's not just raids. It's happening in Crucible too. I mean I get that people really want wins for glory points so they can make progress towards the claymore, but seriously, glory rank is mostly an indicator of time spent, not skill. Yet people are posting things like MUST HAVE 700+ GLORY.
-
I/we are just lucky my group finally after playing a few years found some relax people to play with in our timezone. Wanna have a fag? No problem! Have to go to your crying kid? No problem. Fail? No problem. Fail again?? No problem. Relax people make me enjoy my game time.

*Yawn* make your own post and don't put those in it. It's what I do. Guardians join fast, I explain anything needed, we raid. Simple as that. After a while doing to 4+ hrs with newbies, people want to just raid quickly so I understand the clears required. +50 is pretty dumb but the idea is to discourage people who have absolutely no idea how to finish said raids from joining.
after helping guardians complete it, it's refreshing to see guardians who don't need help and you can just run it

#Mustknowwhatyourdoing then someone who's never beat it joins in doesn't say anything looking for a freebie is kinda lame too.
11 RepliesI can tell you from experience that most of those players asking for that stuff are scrubs. They were carried by other players, hiding in back while everyone else completed it for them. Ive gone into raids with randoms and we cleared it on the 1st try all because we were upfront with what we were good at and communicated during phases. None of the raids are difficult. Just scrubs looking for a carry.

Honestly you point out the minority of the lfg. I have used lfg for 4 years going on 5 and trust me I know the people you are talking about. The most I’ve asked for in a post in “be experienced” because sometimes you really want to get something over with. You can’t sit there and tell yourself you will help every single person to ever go on lfg every time you want to raid. Those people who put 30+ clears did start in the slumps of the lfg at one point but choose to ignore their past self. It is pretty selfless but it is also pretty reasonable as well. I personally don’t mind wiping constantly cause I like to have fun if the leader is being a “wiener” or just a jerk I would leave cause I don’t tolerate shaming others. My opinions seem to be flickering but my point is that why would a new raider want to even raid with that small portion of sweaty people anyway? Let them be them and let the new people be new people. Most times, the common post is “lf#m at some checkpoint/fresh run know what to do”. I understand teaching people how to do things in raid I’ve done in myself but why can’t people google some of these things beforehand. I know how to do the Eater of Worlds and Spire of Stars on paper but I would probably need a quick rundown on how the strategy works in game. But if you have zero clue with a blind run why are you joining a raid? Man I type so much in replies on forums but I hope some light sheds through this reply cause I know people with disagree with parts or even all of it who knows only one way to find out... *post*

I try and teach but if people don't like the method they just leave and screw the whole pooch.
-
4 RepliesWow and here I was going to try and join someone to do them since I have never done them. D1 was great in the day for getting help but obviously not for D2. Who cares, the gear isn't overly fantastic anyway.
