The flashpoint isn't going to be at Mercury every single week. Sure it would be better if non-paying customers got access to DLC content, but when you look at the other side of the coin it also would be unfair to the people who have payed extra to get access to areas such as Mercury if they didn't get to use those areas to their full extent.
And for future reference, the weekly nightfall and Trials of the Nine will also be unplayable for non DLC owners when the strike/map are from the DLC. Just thought you should know so you don't feel the need to complain about not having access to content you didn't pay for.

DLC is supposed to bring new content for people. Build on whats already there... not remove it from some of the player base... Nowhere on this thread have I asked for access to something that I haven't paid for... I'm asking to not lock people out of base game content and have new content in addition to things that already exist... Surely they could make it so that people with / without DLC access played different rotations?
-
I'm sure if they put in an unnecessary effort they could. The thing you're really missing here is this: It's an engram. It gets you items you can get from literally any other source. The only items you're actually being locked out of that are part of the base game are the Curse of Osiris things, but you can still get them literally any week where the map isn't a DLC map. At most you'll get a bit of a delay in power level increases for a single week, but you've still got plenty of sources for that.
-
The point is... They've not added any real new content for people with the DLC... They've added to an existing feature that's just diluting content for people with the base game.
-
They haven't added new content? You're an idiot, you know that right? You're literally complaining that you don't have access to an event ON A NEW PLANET.
-
What I'm saying is I don't have access to FLASHPOINT Flashpoint isn't a new content. I'm saying it should ALWAYS be on a vanilla map and that they should add in a periodic additional rotation for DLC players along side the FLASHPOINT that was on the vanilla game

Edited by Riceboy: 12/15/2017 7:52:26 PMCan you not just wait a week? It was common knowledge that Bungie were gonna do something like this, so what you're essentially saying is: "I bought a game which would, by examining public knowledge, clearly lock me out of content to an extent. Unfortunately, I'm incredibly impatient so I'm gonna be annoyed that I don't have access to content I haven't payed for, such as a single planet I don't have access to out of the 5 available planets" Oh, and I know what you're saying, but clearly you don't know what I'm saying considering you completely ignored my point about you being an idiot.
-
I'm not asking for access to the planet. The post is about Flashpoints... Not about access to Mercury.
-
You're complaining about the mercury flashpoint though. You've still got access to 4 of the flashpoint locations, which is just as many as you had access to previously. And anyway, as I've already stated, you aren't missing out on any content. The only difference is now you're gonna have to skip a week of flashpoints. What's the big deal?
-
So they've given DLC players more variation in the Flashpoint locations, whilst diluting the content for base game holders... Having different rotations for DLC and non DLC players... or giving people with the DLC a chance to have another Flashpoint along side one on a vanilla map would be beneficial to both player bases?
-
So they've given DLC players more variation in the Flashpoint locations, whilst diluting the content for base game holders
No. They've added content for DLC, and currently the weekly engram reward is on that planet, hense no access for you. You seem to be hung up on the idea that these engrams are "new content". Go to EDZ, do 100 public events and I'm sure you'll have some engrams to turn into vanilla weapons/armor. ALL THE VANILLA CONTENT IS STILL THERE The spotlight that is the weekly rotation has shone past you, is all. It will be back. In the mean time, if you want the content of doing a flash point. Go do public events. If you want the gears that can be rewarded from flashpoint, go find legendary engrams and infuse a new exotic into it. . You are so very hung up on the thought that content has been cut, to realize that what you are complaining about, is not content.
-
See, now you're making sense. A vanilla + DLC flashpoint location every week would be unnecessary, but it's a valid suggestion! Good on you buddy! And hey, look at that, you're making sense now. You've acknowledged you were being an idiot when you said they added no new content.
-
'They've not added any real new content' I'm saying they added variation for DLC holders, not anything new as prior to the DLC you still got the Flashpoint reward. Specifically talking about Flashpoint
-
Well if you'd take a look at the milestone that's still sitting on your milestone list you'd see that there is (As far as I'm aware) a different objective! This due to the fact Mercury is a far different patrol area from what we're used to. So again, you're incorrect there.
-
So you didn't have the Flashpoint milestone prior to the DLC?
-
That's not what I said at all.
-
This is my argument, you don't get a new reward for owning the DLC. You just have a different way of completing it. Where as for base game players there is no Flashpoint this week.
