Please don't be that person who shoots the smaller blights on the "aberrations in reality" taken public event. In order to make that event heroic, we need to step in and out of the smaller blights in order to get the 4 second buff to damage the larger blight in the center.
Ever see friendlies shooting at you or meleeing you while you are shooting the smaller blights? I think they are trying to tell you something.
There is nothing more frustrating while doing public events than to see people still shooting the smaller blights and preventing the rest of us from turning the event heroic.
I understand many people still don't know this, and that's reasonable...which is why I need as many of those people to see this as possible.
UPVOTE so we can all get this loot!
Thank you for your time.

Edit:
Also great method from boogie_man_49i that I was unaware of:
"Although I'm sure there may still be some that don't know how to turn it heroic, there is also a method to the madness of shooting the first one or two [rounds of] smaller blights.
The larger blight takes less damage at each progressive [spawn] location in order to turn it heroic.
So, IF you don't have enough people on the event to take it down right away [at the first location], it's easier to just push it to the next location and turn it heroic there rather than wasting ammo on the first one."
(Great point by boogie! Clearly, I'm more so referring to instances where there are plenty of people to take it down at the first spawn location...which would be much faster than a bunch of people pushing it to the 3rd location intentionally.)
Edit 2: YES, you do get more rewards in the form of (at least) additional tokens and legendaries that frequently drop from the yellow bar enemies that spawn after the heroic trigger (e.g., think the yellow-bar war hound/dog during the heroic Cabal Drill PE or the multitude of yellow bars and the big yellow-bar that spawns during the heroic Glimmer Drill PE).
In addition to the small boost in XP and Clan XP for doing heroic PEs, you also get more XP for killing the yellow bars during heroic events simply b/c killing yellow bar enemies gives you more XP.

I was “lucky” enough to have to deal with these morons during the walker arsenal event. 🤦♂️

1 ReplyIve done this pub a couple dozen times and had NO IDEA wow
-
With 5 you can make that one heroic & finish it in 25 seconds. When 3 tTitans are putting shields around you and you see everybody else shooting the ball.....you send a "reported" message lol.
-
Makes me want to play defender and just put a bubble around those morons
-
If a frog had wings, he wouldn't bump his ass a-hoppin'
-
Was never really an issue on console but since playing on PC many dont seem to bother turning many of the PE heroic (that or they still dont know how)
-
1 ReplyGive the man some tokens !! Sheeple all of you. Grinding tokens and doing public events has to be the new prison of elders strategy and use just eat it up like it's normal. How?? What drugs are use on to keep playing this
-
It's so bad that I feel like the idiot when I'm the one over there trying to make it heroic. Sometimes I wonder if they just don't know or just don't care. If you're not going to make it heroic, why are you doing it?
-
1 ReplyI haven’t even played D2 in a month but Ima hoop on just to shot the small blights, that way maybe you plebs will do raids instead of running pub events for endgame
-
1 ReplyIf they haven't learned now then they will never learn.

The yellow bar war beast during the drill only happens during the EDZ flashpoint.

A giant isopod is any of the almost 20 species of large isopods (crustaceans distantly related to shrimp and crabs, which are decapods) in the genus Bathynomus. They are abundant in cold, deep waters of the Atlantic, Pacific and Indian Oceans. Bathynomus Giganteus, the species upon which the generitype is based, is often considered the largest isopod in the world, though other comparably poorly known species of Bathynomus may reach a similar size (e.g., B. kensleyi). The giant isopods are noted for their resemblance to the much smaller common woodlouse (pill bug), to which they are related.

Just ignore the noobs...Wardcliff Coil will trigger with a couple of shots.

I kill the first round, here's why; killing the first round makes the blight move, and during a flashpoint week, it also spawns the sub-boss. Then I activate heroic. For reference, see how many heroic public events I've completed lol.
-
If I'm solo, I just spend the entire event t-bagging guardians. Not much point doing anything else.
-
1 ReplyBring a wardcliff Problem solved If you want something done in this game you gotta do it yourself. Only that’s a paradox because just about everything in this game is barely soloable anymore but yeah... it is what it is.
-
That is the one that its not worth the time. I ended up warping to a different one.
-
If only there was some way to communicate this to people in-game. Why hasn’t any self-respecting game company come up with a way for players to communicate with others in-game? Our Guardians may be mute, but that doesn’t mean the players have to be.
-
What if I don't care? Now you ruined this event for me.

https://www.bungie.net/en/Forums/Post/240139838?page=0&sort=0&showBanned=0&path=1 What we REALLY need is an incentive to actually trigger the heroics. Faster flashpoint and Clan milestones? NOT ENOUGH.
-
Everyone should know at this point, step in the smaller blight and immediately step out of them. Shoot the really big blight for about 4 seconds, repeat until it turns heroic. That’s how you trigger it. Shooting the small blights will not help at all, actually make it take longer.
-
Just for you, Im shooting all the blights I can
-
This shit irks me so damn much! I mean seriously...like you said I know there are some that may not have known this. But by now??? You tube...reddit...something should have shown you the way by now! Great post!

Guilty. I didn't know. I "thought" I knew. I "thought" that killing the smaller blights before killing all the taken in them would trigger it(similar to how you shoot the vents in the cabal PE). I only recently started doing that event because I am sick of the Taken, but now I'm more sick of the Cabal. Now I know. To the guy talking about youtube videos below, I don't watch streamers. Ever. Most people don't. Instead, I try to watch what other people are doing in game and hang back to watch what's being done. For what it's worth, I know how to trigger all the others, from shooting dropships, vents ,and little weird thing that pops into glimmer event to climbing the platforms, shooting crystals, and standing in circles.
