Prometheus Lens: How an Exotic Should Feel
Don’t nerf. Buff everything up to it. Looks great!
Edit: This is the first time in a while people are grinding hard as heck for an exotic. It shows how EXOTICS should feel. Strong and powerful. The steady stream of nerfs has turned D1, a fast paced game with single outplay potential, to D2, a team pea shooter. Stop advocating for nerfs instead of buffs. This is what’s killing the game.
Edit 2: “It’s bugged, dummy.” No duh. That’s why it’s fun to use. It reminds many of the quick time to kills in D1. Hopefully the PvE community doesn’t see this gun go down the drain because of us whiny PvP kids.

Edited by Crunchyblack: 12/7/2017 6:18:46 PMProblem is, its the ONLY gun like that in game...so theyll have to nerf it...now if there were lots of guns like it, and maybe a counter item...then there would be balance (what if an exotic had reflect on it for elemental damage? Since you need continual line of sight with PL it could melt the person firing it if it reflected a % of damage) But then all exotics would need to be interesting and we are a very long way from that.

2 RepliesThey aren't nerfing it, they're fixing it. The gun is broken and bugged and that was confirmed by Bungie. It won't be a strong but it'll be how they intended it too be.

Not everybody has or wants to use that weapon and will be at a disadvantage if they don’t. You refer to destiny 1 in your post, but this is destiny 2. 2 RepliesForget it. Why argue against it being nerfed- er I mean fixed, sorry. The outcry from the pvp crowd is deafening. The gun will be broken soon and we will be back to using staple removers as weapons. I’ts incredulous that anyone can claim this pvp to be hardcore. There are a plethora of pvp based games that outshine the Crucible in every aspect. Halo, Call of Duty, Battlefield, Overwatch, PubG, and Fortnite are waaaaay better. This pvp might be side by side with Splatoon, that’s it.

The whole reason you were restricted to one exotic per gear column (weapons and armor) was because they were supposed to be really powerful, to the point where it would be ridiculous if you could equip multiple. Destiny 2 Exotics are not like the Destiny 1 Exotics. And if that's the case, then they really should lift that restriction.

or you have Prometheus lens in PVP or you are a minion. what is funny? it will be fun for those who enjoy passing the games with hack, bugs, etc ... it is insulting that the destiny team has put this weapon in PVP.

5 RepliesNormally, I would agree with you. I bought this game for PvE, not PvP. However, the PvP was enjoyable and constitutes a sizeable chunk of the game. Now, it's virtually unplayable unless you have a Prometheus Lens. You WILL go against a team using it, and unless you have one you had better hope that other team is utter garbage otherwise you don't stand a chance, the gun really is that broken. I'm not one to complain about guns in games. In all my years gaming (18+ now) I haven't encountered a single gun in a single game that I would consider "broken". Not the AWP in CS. Not the Golden Gun in 007. Not the MP40 in WaW. Not the 1887s in MW2. Not the DMR in Reach. Not even the Smart Pistol in Titanfall. The Prometheus Lens is a completely different story. When it cuts the average solo TTK to a third of the time of any of the other guns, and it's a literal laser beam with no recoil, that's a bit ridiculous. Why would you want the PvE to be that ridiculously easy anyway? The game is short enough--you're telling me you want to finish everything even [i]faster[/i] by blasting through it with a blatantly overpowered weapon? That's boring, extremely so.

Crucible is like training and/or a sport in the Destiny universe. I think they should just ban certain weapons in PVP so that those weapons can be absolute beasts in PVE......... And then they can have special PVP events where those weapons are allowed and it'll be fun for a weekend or something. Bungie are so damn clueless when it comes to thinking outside the box and making things fun.

You would scream with joy when it dropped after the raid. I remember those days and that feeling. I agree exotics should not be compared to regular weapons. In my opinion it should be harder to get exotics so it will be valued more. Crybabies will always cry. Welp gonna have fun in PVP with my Prometheus Lens bye!

Finds out he faces an [b]entire stacked team[/b] running same weapon. Player 1 gets absolutely murdered by the other team as they are quickly spoiling/camping on Heavy drops and team shooting with the weapon. Player 1: this weapon is too OP! Bungie please "Nerf" it now! Bungie Nerfs/Patches said weapon. Player 1: -blam!-ing Bungo nerfed my gun? Bwaaa! No fun!
