They just made faction rallies even harder to farm?

EDIT 3: I take it all back. In Bungie's effort to slow down token farming, someone has already discovered a certain area that's even faster than last rally event with the new changes. Typical Bungie I guess. I should have known.
EDIT 4: Just hit the engram cap for New Monarchy and no new scout rifle or a complete armor set (missing chest and arms). I did however get 15-20 Coronation Mark titan butt-towels with matching Restoration VIII auto rifles...

The same thing players have been doing since the game started. All for dead orbit to win due to the popularity of the shaders. This just makes a bad, unrewarding event, worse. At least it would be over quicker for the token farm on titan. People are going to burn out farming this one

Nah, I'm happy. Now I can do stokes to earn tokens! I've been wanting a reason to those. They can be fun. I used to do heroic strikes in D1 when I was bored.

3 RepliesThere’s these things called Heroic Events, that drop coins very easily. (If only -blam!-ers would stop shooting the small orbs on the Taken one). You can also get coins from strikes, too. Bungie just wants you to play the game.

1 ReplyFinally getting D2 next week and looking forward to the extra grind. I solo grinded my ass off in D1 for months before even thinking about joining a fireteam or doing the raids and 4500 hours later across 3 consoles, I still look forward to the grind. Personally, I don't see the point of cheesing the best rewards or fast gaining power levels, you have paid for the content so why not enjoy it.

I'm gonna be the immediately shot done voice of optimism and point out that they've already confirmed that they're changing the package rewards for next IB so that it drastically lowers the rate of random junk gear in favour of IB specific gear so as FR's are effectively the same event under a different name, hopefully the faction packages will be likewise addressed. that said, I won't be surprised if this isn't the case.

Just take them out of the sectors if you get nothing from them or are they just leaving them in for a "fun" factor.......lol. Lockout timer on the chests. Thanks bungie. Not to mention the reduction in public events as well. You only get the bonus from one nightfall......wooohooo! Farming strikes? No thanks.........sometimes I wonder what is going on upstairs. Absolutely no thought. I can see a little nerf if need be, but this is just too much.

10 Replies[b][u]STRIKES[/u][/b] 5-9 (~7) tokens per strike = 85 strikes to max out a faction this time around. Each one requires 600 tokens. So to max out all 3, it’s 255 strikes. 10 mins a pop, that’s 2,550 minutes or 42.5 hrs of nonstop strikes. If you don’t have 6 hours per day to dedicate to running pointless strikes, you aren’t capping faction ranks this time. [b][u]PUB EVENTS[/u][/b] 5 tokens per run = 120 runs per char to cap out. 6 mins per run is probably an ok guess, factoring in waiting on cooldowns for events. 720 mins, or 12 hours per char. 36 hrs for the week, or 5hrs per day dedicated to nothing but pub events to cap out. —�—�—�— Used to take 3 hrs total to cap out, now takes 36-42.5. I understand it was an exploit, but was it really necessary to blow that exploit up AND not give us any viable way to cap out? And have terrible rewards that don’t entice me to play? All the guns are listed in the Armory and they’re all junk except the FWC Pulse.

Right now they are grasping at straws to do anything that artificially inflates time played. There will be heads that still grind regardless. It's just that now instead of being able to grind out 90 packages in a few hours, it will take most an entire weekend.

Not a word I see on the crap RNG that resulted in me going to 78 with FWC last time and still no sign of the Gauntlets, the last piece I needed for my Hunter. Not this time. Been playing Horizon Zero Dawn and just pre-ordered Frozen Wilds .. That'll do me until the DLC drops. Possibly getting a few more tokens, that I can get easily and faster by running public events, is not an incentive to go repeat the same fricking strike over and over especially when public events also drop exotics. The last time I ran strikes I did the Pyramidion twice and then got .. the Pyramidion .. Ugh. Make things worthwhile Bungie. Leave Public Events at 8 Faction marks. Put a booster on the Strike List. Start at 14 Faction marks for a strike and then add one for every consecutive strike, once you hit 20 you reset. A strike takes about twenty minutes, a public event takes a couple. I would grind strikes for gauranteed marks. I am so not interested in possibly get a couple more after twenty minutes of playing a strike only to then repeating the same one. Bungie dont seem to learn from their mistakes, if anything they just stumble onto bigger ones. And no amount of having the data removed can hide the fact the game is losing players hand over fists.

9 RepliesSo what you’re saying is they gave folks a bit more of an incentive to run some strikes and took away a cheesy method of maxing out your tokens in a few minutes? So, if it’s too easy to earn tokens and max out the factions it’s a bad thing and if they make it a tad bit longer to earn tokens to max out factions it’s a bad thing? 🤦♂️

Instead of farming the explosives, just go for the ogre. Rinse and repeat. Sure, you won't be getting 6 tokens at a time, but you'll still be getting more tokens than if you did other activities.
