Let's get this up there so Bungie will see it at the top!

Timer gang back up in this bitch 👌🏻👌🏻

I don't understand the issue with the timer, I've only had trouble with one nightfall, and that was because my fireteam members didn't know how to properly manage time.

The only time I really hate the timers is when the rest of my group tries to run by the enemies, yells at me to do the same, we all die, have to wait 30 seconds to pick ourselves up, and then they try to run through again. Or when we get to the boss and they're panicking about the time and they're like "melt him, we only have a couple minutes," when all that does is usually gets him to about a third and so many enemies that as soon as you respawn you're almost immediately shot back down, or cannot stop running to get a shot off at him without dying. If you're willing to just clear out the enemies on the way I never found the timer to be an issue having at the very least 3 minutes remaining by the time the boss was done. I don't really bother with the prestige mode, the aura isn't enough incentive, and only needed to do it once for the emblem, so killing everything doesn't work too well to beat the timer, but really it's just a cosmetic till weekly reset so why put yourself through that torture?
-
This is kind of a loaded question for me. I actually don't mind fixed timers. The week where we had increased ability recharge and a set 22 minutes was pretty good. What I hate is having to search every inch of the map up and down looking for these glowing blue dots and wasting more time than they're worth in the process. Especially on this week's nightfall where you're getting the "Anomaly Detected" message from anomalies that are a floor beneath you. The hoops weren't much better at all. I unfortunately purchased too late and missed the week where it was based on kills.

I like the idea of timers for prestige. But not for the 240.

Edited by Jinx: 10/5/2017 10:39:45 PMI wish that when we had poles we had a notification of actual people who voted on them. Politicians and celebrities hire companies that use shadow accounts that aren't linked to actual users to like them on twitter. The fact is bungie probably uses a similar system to downvote posts and vote no on poles in situations where they don't want to do anything. I'm willing to bet that if you could see a readout of who's actually downvoting things you'd see a lot of $#%001 and $#%002 and $#%003 usernames on the "no"s.

Just remove the timer...so we can try to solo it if can't find friend to play with. I am a low skilled player. I solo Omnigul NF when it has Arc Burn. I was on weekend, Took me 9 hours...with a lunch break (Just wiggle the controller with my foot) Killed her with Patient In Time...LOL But it was fun...!

Edited by Hylum77: 10/5/2017 10:30:00 PMI want the Nightfall to be difficult but timers are not the answer and just make the game not enjoyable. Why not have a clock in the Nightfall and if certain groups who want to push through it quickly get an extra legendary/exotic engram for completing it within a certain time?
-
Timers are a lazy way to increase difficulty. Most of them can be cheesed anyways, give us harder, not timed content.
-
The game still isnt out on PC

16 RepliesStep one. Remove timer requirement for the one or two exotics that require you to complete a nightfall. (Neither of them are worth the effort and neither are worth doing a prestige event) Step 2. Remove the timer from nightfall normal. The difficulty rating indicates you should be able to do this event at level 240. There should /not/ be a timer. Step 3. Leave the timer on prestige event. Prestige exists more for bragging rights than for actual items obtained, the timer makes perfect sense on this event. If steps 1 and 2 are just two freaking difficult because heaven knows bungie hates doing any actual work. Just solve it by setting the timer from 15 minutes to 60 minutes. If you can't finish the event in that time well... An hour is at least fair.. The event should be hard. Fine. You mean like........ Health not regenerating unless you're sprinting and everything has -blam!-ing spam AOE weapons? Yeeeah. That's hard. The event SHOULD be hard. Putting a timer on it? Look. I'm going to be full on honest. You are -blam!-ing ruining my relationship with some of my closest friends because of the incredible stress for everything to be perfect and coordinated and I'm -blam!-ing sick of it. If you want to be on the books that "We at Bungie are actively obstructing players from participating in this activity because we deliberately don't want you to have ANY enjoyable endgame content" then you need to do that. Though let me be blunt. The "hard core" speed run "this isn't fun unless my balls are being crushed" players are not the people who are going to keep your game alive and running long. You've been notified that the majority of players are not okay with the timer. It behooves you to do something now instead of waiting until people just walk away from the game. I know you've never liked being proactive but this is one of those things where anyone you lose because the game "isn't hard enough" is going to be dwarfed by people who will leave the game because they've made their feelings clear and you ignored them.

Should have stayed an option or only for prestige.

4 RepliesIf there is no timed wipe in the raid it'll make it beyond easy. You'll never have to worry about anything. It's already casual enough kids.
-
I hate having to rush against a timer. For certain things. Raid challenges. Black spindle type missions. Sure. That's fine. But not every single nightfall. It puts an annoying pressure on an otherwise fun weekly thing. The grind to 300 305 is not hard or long. And I don't want all that's left to be sweaty try hard things for rewards. Nightfall is a fun harder strike to mess with with your buddies and try to pull epic stuff. It takes alot of fun away trying to beat the clock.

Edited by IEve_Of_The_EndI: 10/5/2017 5:05:52 PMBungie, can't even answer simple threads.. What makes you think they give a shit about what we want. We can't even get a full game.. And everyone is worried about a fckn clock.. That makes sense..

2 RepliesEdited by Der Sheff: 10/5/2017 6:15:56 PMThe raid doesn’t have a timer. The timer in the Nightfall is irrelevant because no one takes that long to complete it. I jest, of course. I actually like the timer, but I see that I am in the minority.
-
2 Repliestimers dont even matter once you pass 300 LIGHT..... just an fyi for noobs they really dont impede you at all.
-
Yes the timers are BS! Makes me not even want to play those events.
-
In D1 i could solo the nightfall, and yes it takes a lot longer but it's fun if you have some time to spare. Isn't it possible to keep everybody happy?, maybe the nightfall can be run in a timed or a non timed version? Maybe the timed version could give an extra reward or something? The non timed version could be harder(but adjusted to the number of players) or in stead of giving for example 3 rewards at the end it can give 2.
-
I miss when the Nightfall would kick your team back to orbit on a full wipe. Yes it is hard. That's the point. But this way it's more fun because you are able to plan out strategies and meticulously work your way through the Nightfall. Instead of rushing past enemies and not actually enjoying/playing the strike. Then when you get to the end you get some awesome sweet loot. That's another point, there should be actual worthwhile stuff at the end of the Nightfall not some garbage that I'll never use, or that has lower light than my character......
-
10 RepliesHey here’s a fantastic idea. Instead of complaining how about how much you don’t like something. Why don’t you come up with a creative alternative instead.
-
I feel that nightfalls should have a very high difficulty, but a timer was a bad way of implementing said difficulty.
-
I've been thinking about this a lot. I don't enjoy the Nightfall anymore. Can I do it? Sure. Some weeks it has taken a couple times, but I can do it. However, it's just not fun for me. I've never been a speedrunner...just not my play style. Plus, this seems like a step backwards from strike scoring, and trying to have a higher score than my buddies fireteam. Now, if they brought back scoring and made it so if you too too long your score started to go down that would be fine. Have the modifiers of jumping through hoops, or destroying oracles give extra points or even multipliers. Give tiered rewards so that depending on how high your score is you can get more rewards. All of that sounds like more fun to me then speed running nightfalls. just my $.02

Where's the I don't really care option. Timed or not, it's still a relatively easy activity.
