The Ghosts were made by Rasputin

It's so damn obvious, look at the symbol for Rasputin, and then look at your ghost. It's the same diamond shape, and everything. Rasputin let the Traveler die so it could take it's power for himself, and from it, he made the ghosts and created a new and better defense system... the Guardians. That is correct. The previous defense systems the Warminds used were not efficient enough, and so, Rasputin eventually figured how to improve it. Remember, the Ghosts did not come out until the Golden Age was over, and Rasputin became the only known surviving Warmind. Why would a powerful Warmind need Guardians helping it defend it's facilities unless Guardians are the defenders? So I am probably overthinking, but then again, maybe Bungie has thought this out, just maybe. I mean read the Book of Sorrows, and other Grimoire, there lore is great for Destiny, it just would have been better in the actual game right? Would have created far more content... I mean, look at the tech around Rasputin too, he favours triangles and diamond shaped objects too, and the Ghosts are a triangular diamond kind of shaped thing. As with most stories of "gods", which Rasputin might as well be with how much power he wields, they create lesser beings in their image, no? I think it all makes sense. Now with the whole thing with the Ghosts "dying" and the Guardians losing our light when the Traveler's power is blocked by Ghaul... I think that is because Rasputin made them that way, to have that connection to the technology/light of the Traveler, or he made the ghosts out of parts from the Traveler, and therefore, that connection was severed, like a hive mind of sorts. hence the giant hole in the bottom of the Traveler, Rasputin is slowly pulling it apart, and maybe the SPEAKER, who is conveniently missing, knows the truth. He is probably the only know that knows... or maybe there is another who knows... Osiris, the one who tried to overthrow the Speaker... Because I believe, when Osiris found out the truth of what the Guardians are, because as the Speaker's Apprentice, he would have learned all the deepest secrets in what it is to be a Guardian. Now, it is said they became bitter rivals through differences in philosophies, but that seems like some excuse the Speaker made up to make sure no one learned the Guardians' true purpose... The two DLC of Destiny 2 is about Osiris and Rasputin, for their symbols are shown on the Expansion pass thing. So we obviously learn something from Osiris in the first DLC, and then more following that in the Rasputin DLC... and what we learn is, that the Guardians are merely Rasputin's puppets, they are his defense system against the enemies of Earth. He was part of the vanilla story, and he keeps on popping up in the story over and over. There is also the purpose behind why Rasputin wanted SIVA, it was probably his original plan for a great defense system, but it got out of control and he shut it away. Why he allowed the Iron Lords to find it, is beyond me, maybe he wanted to test his first versions of the Guardians (because that is what they were) on what they were capable of. Also, why can Ghosts unlock anything and everything? I mean we could make the poor excuse of purposes for the plot, the story, but that is exactly it, Rasputin is meant to be super intelligent, so of course he would figure out how to make skeleton key mini AIs that can resurrect people from the dead if they had a little bit of Light in there. The Light thing is probably the only thing that kind of baffles me, but it is probably something to do with the Golden Age, and being exposed to the technology of the traveler, etc. Overall, my point is, we are Rasputin's Defense System, that is what the Guardians are. Thoughts?

  • How about this: with the help of Rasputin and the other war minds brought us into the golden age. Humanity was therefore able to colonize the solar system. But then came the traveler, a terraforming entity bent on galactic control and now earth was in it crosshairs. Rasputin recognized the approaching danger, attempted to evacuate as many people as off the earth as possible, but was overcome by the Traveler's light and so brought about the great collapse. But before going into to sleep mode, Rasputin damage the traveler prevented its departure to do the same to other worlds. I know this theory is not new but how about this. The small amount of people fled and over time reverted back to simpler time of living. As time people forgotten the past, but not the Traveler it never forgets. So with it remanding light resurrected people of long ago to help it return to it's former glory and to defend it if Rasputin should ever become active again. Now here we are, the Guardians, that have no memory of who we where in our past life. Every bit of info is giving to us in pieces, one big puzzle, I.E. grimore cards. Why? To keep us blind to what is really going on. Luke Smith said, "we never know what the darkness was". Oh Luke you talented, slick little bastard, yes you are! He too must say that to keep us in the dark. Thank about it, des•to•ny : the events that will necessarily happen to particular person or thing in the future or the hidden power believed to control what will happen in the future; fate. And that very power is the traveler.
