First, let's look at what has changed:
Mobility. Which IS affected by your gear and how you set up your stats, so try that out. And after comparing the two games in a single strike I can officially say that it's really not that different. It just feels different.
Weapons. It's a beta. There will be more heavy dropping as well as they will have to buff grenade launchers and the amount of ammo with rockets. Kinetic and Elemental are the new Primary and Special weapons, and if you don't think this system is more fun I really don't know what to tell you. Try using a kinetic hand canon and an Elemental pulse in the strike. Switch to the pulse for shielded enemies and switch to the HC to finish them off. It's just fun.
Supers. It's a beta. They will be tweaked. Dawnblade needs to last a little longer, golden gun as well. IMO people just need to get used to the Sentinal because once you master the different combos the thing is amazing. Striker is also very strong with the combos because you have a roaming smash AS WELL AS a shoulder charge that has an AOE which can take out multiple low level enemies. Super energy will be obtained through specific gear and weapons in the full game so we will see an decrease in the time it takes to build one, however I really do not see an issue with it in pve (that said I always have double the amount of actual kills in a strike than my other teammates so idk..). They need to tune that in pvp, but again it's a beta.
Now let's do a strike comparison. At first, this strike was underwhelming to me. I couldn't figure out why. But then I played a D1 strike. Wow. This beta strike is miles better than a strike in D1. Seriously. Just try it for yourself and make a comparison.
Lastly, the patrol size of the planets alone is ridiculously large. The Inverted Spire takes place in like 1/8th of the map size and it's a huge area. PVE players should really be rejoicing about this.
TL;DR-D2 is a better game. Period.
Comedy:
😭 Arcstrider takes skill
😭 Sentinal takes skill
😭 my Super doesn't charge fast enough but my Strike teammate has 100 kills and I have 13
😭 my abilities are so slow...when I'm runnng through an open area and don't need one but use it anyway and then I don't have one when I actually need it and I wasted my Super too but F U Bungo!
😭 I was team shot in crucible because I don't have friends to play with and ran into 4 enemies on B by myself
Destiny 2 is a 🚮🔥I hate you Bungo and I want a refund!!!

5 Replies1: destiny takes literally no skill dude. If I dropped money to succ off bungо before I get a full view of the product, i would probably get bored of the beta within a few hours because I will have experience everything the game has to offer, because quite frankly, every class, grenade, weapon, it all just blurs together because you aren't doing anything interesting :/ Also, I didn't know lightyears were capable of measuring something's quality...

Edited by johnleatherman: 7/24/2017 1:09:26 PMSkill? What's this skill you speak of in D2. It takes none to shoot primaries. It's so easy and boring not having to worry or counter anything at all. I'm never like oh shit that dude has a primary, maybe he will 3 hit melee me or toss a grenade that tickles me.

Agreed OP, ppl seem to hate D2 because now they actually have to apply some thought when playing
-
Yea was pretty hyped the entire time playing it

4 RepliesDam at last I found the saddest person on the bungie forums. Down vote and muted. Jesus go out side kid.

2 RepliesDisagree Killing the spider tank in the inverted spire strike at light level 8 in the Alpha, took team work and plenty of timing. But that's when Destiny was a challenge mind.
-
The rocket launcher is shit. Can't even kill a minotaur in one shot.
-
1 ReplyI mostly agree, but supers do charge too slowly, no matter how many kills I got I only had it once per activity. Twice in that one strike where we died.
-
The strike is no different other than dodging the drills. It's still running through killing ads then a bullet sponge boss.
-
Yo Alien, what's up? Eh nothing. Sitting here at work on a Saturday. Ah that sucks. So how's the forums? Kinda slow. Nobody's happy. Idk what's going on. Huh. Sounds like a typical day to me. What's for dinner?!

Edited by buma24: 7/24/2017 5:25:30 AMDawnblade does not need increase duration they have a perk that gives them more super time each time they get a kill same as panic titan they will be broken for add control i say even more broken than storm caller. Also dawnblade has an easy mode perk that gives traking to the super no aim requare just spam R1 and let the kills come

2 RepliesEvery argument anyone has written regarding the beta has included "It's just the beta, guys". That's a great argument. The beta represents the full game as a whole. If it doesn't, someone fucked up somewhere. Everything was slow and somehow feverish, a painful combination to be sure. Crucible was sweaty and teamwork reliant, which means death for any solo player. Abilities were crippled but in some cases have over triple the cooldown. Good beta. I really hope your idea of "it's just the beta" comes to fruition. I like Destiny.

I like it...

D1 is way better d2s changes are feckin awful

Don't know what was more boring. Destiny 2 or this thread.

If it feels different it is different. This really shouldn't need to be explained... Guns are underwhelming...regardless of how you switch them up between the two primaries. This may be tweaked....but it certainly isn't better than D1. I know what you talk about with the energy weapons but if I have to pay extra careful attention to features being present...then they certainly do not make a huge impression. So it all boils down to whether or not this actually is tweaked the right way for d2 on release. So far however there are as much upsides as there are downsides to the system in comparison so there is absolutely no reason to see it as a huge improvement. It is just different. There is every indication that the largest part of the d2 strike may be happening in patrol area. This does not have to mean that it isn't larger overall but so far I have people estimating the entire strike as 1/5th to 1/8th of the overall patrol area and what that means varied entirely on what part does and doesn't take place in public space. The strike certainly does not seem to cover a much larger area than some of the strikes in D1. For you personally this may all be an improvement. And that is awesome. I am certainly not saying that it isn't better for you. However....For me all in all...I feel that this game regressed and fundamentally changes the nature of what I loved about Destiny and takes a turn towards a place I do not much like. So I don't agree with the blanket statement that D2 is an absolute improvement over D1.

You're drunk. Once you sober up and play the beta you'll see straight away the beta plays as a weaker dumbed down version of D1. In the future remember to hydrate. The headache won't be as bad.
-
I have to disagree. I didn't see anything that made me go, "Wow, this is what sets D2 apart from D1."

That cum must be like candy.

Pretty decent b8, 6/8

Opinions. I live them so -blam!-ing much, dude. :)

"It's lightyears better because it's crappy now but it's just a beta and I hope it will be better eventually". Your argument is so stupid, that it makes me think you might have invented the new weapon load out system and cool down times.
