Think again. What you get in the beta is what your gonna get on release day. Don't hate me, I'm just giving that warning a lot of us didn't get before destiny 1 came out.
Ok let me clarify abit for these special needs people on here. This is a "W A R N I N G" to basically the noobs who didn't experience the disappointment after destiny was released.
This is not for the geniuses who believe everything they read. ✌
What you get in the beta is what your gonna get on release day.
Ok buddy...
-
not to mention they said it was a months old build. It's going to feel similar of course but it will also be pretty different.
-
The new weapon system will be never changed. Maybe the Special and Grenades and the heavy drop. That it.
-
Lmfao wish I had your optimism it only 6 weeks away from launch
-
....youre clearly forgetting that this is bungie. Theyre not gonna fix anything between here and release. Theyd need to do another overhaul to fix the glaring issues
-
I've cancelled, I will wait a week until after release.
-
This. There has always been a completely baffling amount of optimism that Bungie will change things for the better. D1 was only ever a downward slide to mediocrity, with only the very basic mechanics (running/shooting) left to satisfy anyone. And now they go and "tweak" the running and shooting. But hey, "maybe they'll have it fixed by launch".
-
I agree with you Bungie's betas in the past have all been pretty much what you are going to get on release.
-
You're right, this is bad. Even if they overpower the weapons and abilities, while also decreasing the time to get the abilities, they already made an incredibly stupid move in the new weapon system. There's no other way to say it. They -blam!-ed up big time. The entire system is horrible. I'm dumbfounded by moving all the old specials into the heavy slot. Nobody wants to run two hand cannons. Or I should say, two primaries. Bad bad move.
-
I feel like if they release this version it's gunna bomb I'm pretty sure they can't afford that to happen so something will change... I dunno what tho
-
Ever since they said "we've listened and we are not going to make any blanket nerfs to any weapon class" then they took all our special ammo away from us has made me slightly sceptical.
-
4 RepliesI loved the beta so.... cool then. Also they indicated in TWAB they had already made several changes to PVE - like heavy ammo drop rates, weapon damage vs minions of darkess, grenade power in PVE, etc... so what your saying is objectively false. I'd start in here about how game development works and remind you that the beta is an old build but it seems like thats been covered and also you dont seem like the type that really has much regard for stuff like facts.
-
"It's only a beta" covers things like bugs and small scale problems like ammo drop rates and maybe some weapon tuning. It doesn't apply to large scale changes. If you don't like the weapon system or damage values across all weapon types or fixed rolls or how so far your character still doesnt have voice lines it's not changing in two months. If Bungie has been using their time efficiently they're currently working on the third expansion and maybe doing some touching up on the first two. If macro level change is being done based on feedback youll see it in September 2018.
-
4 RepliesI agree if you don't like it don't buy it, don't play it, don't go to the internet and trash it. Move on with your life. You will be happier.
-
3 RepliesIsn't there going to be more pvp maps than D1 had? Someone said there will only be 2 pvp map? Not sure, I thought about 5-6 maps.
-
Not even nice b8 m8.
-
Nice M8 B8

Another dumb shit who understands nothing about game development on any fundamental level. Yet here you are speaking as if you have authority on a topic, that you know nothing about whatsoever
-
1 ReplyEdited by shell: 7/22/2017 2:22:17 PMIt won't be fixed if we don't give any feedback. That's kind of the point of a beta. To get feedback for the games final build.

19 RepliesEdited by TheCyo: 7/22/2017 8:21:34 AMWhat do you think, that the current state happened by accident? That some temp fiddled around with the numbers and nobody noticed it? Everything we see is the result of months of meetings, designs and balancing. I agree they can rise the drop rate of purple in PvE. And even that is not easy ("is the boss fight now too short and easy in the campaign etc.") But the state of PvP did not "happen". Slow movement did not "happen". Weak abilities did not "happen". Weak weapons did not "happen". Slow charge rates did not "happen". They are exactly and deliberately how Bungie wanted them after months of fiddling and balancing them. Anyone thinking they will do a last minute course correction has a pipe dream and does not understand how development works.

1 ReplyYes it's a beta it's only a test for bungie it's not the full game and yeah has bugs and issues but it's a test a beta. I'm positive a lot will be fixed before or during release of Destiny 2. Im also not grinding out the beta or spending a huge amount of time with it. Rather just waiting till September :)
-
All though we are playing an earlier build. Don't expect huge changes to the core mechanics of Destiny 2. Their will be some tweaks but that's about it. If you are expecting 6 vs 6 over 4 vs 4 it's not going to happen. Map design is being built around 4 vs 4

6 RepliesEdited by BannedGlitta: 7/22/2017 10:21:56 AMIn the Destiny 1 beta, handcannons dealt 60 damage to the head, the vision of confluence archetype of scout rifles did 68 to the head, and the cydonia auto rifle did 36 to the head. You used to be able to blink without getting rid of invis, and lightning grenades dealt 144 damage at one point. These are just a handful of changes that happened between the beta and the release of Destiny 1, but my point is that the beta is most certainly not the final product. We may not have everything fixed that we wanted, but there will be many changes between now and the release of Destiny 2. Whether you see it or not is your choice. Just realised I think I put the same post twice, but it's 3am 😑

Edited by Sideswipe: 7/22/2017 1:00:46 PMThis begs the question of what are they thinking by giving us these terrible cooldowns, weak abilities, and underpowered weapons, low ammo drops, etc. It's the rationale behind this tuning that has people upset. D1 was plagued with excuses like: -It takes forever to create/alter content because our tools suck -it's "difficult" to tune gear separately because of the way they're coded -Bungie isn't familiar with making this the type of game we want or that they want to give us -Every gun will have its day Etc.. So now with D2 they've addressed the content creation tools, coded gear so that it can be tuned separately, have learned more about what kind of game they are wanting to make, and setup D2 to have a more balanced PvP. Let's see how they handle this adversity since they have everything set up the way want, no longer "doing the best they can with what they've got." IOW, no more excuses.

6 RepliesSo you're just going to ignore that fact that we're playing an old build
-
It's clearly an old build, it doesn't even have a loot system just the bare bones to do server tests
