they have dramatically reduced dps potential by losing a special slot with high damage weapons like fusions and snipers in an effort to balance pvp, right? and replaced it with an elemental primary slot, right? so prepare for the devs whos greatest qualification to make this game is their ability to copy and paste to bring us back to year 1, where bosses took a half hour to down. also prepare for a lack of pve fun, as the rocket/fusion or rocket/sniper load ou t wither s and dies. additionally, prepare for miserable raids that take forever due to the poor bastard who went in with dual sidearms (which are now basically weak hand cannons) who now must try to compete in a long corridor. The loadout lock would not make any sense in any activities outside of crucible, because in a raid or night fall where encounters are different, you need to switch loadouts or elements to cope with different threats. prepare for borealis to become the new ghallarhorn (on LFG posts). the lockout is a desperate attempt by bungies uncreative game designers to introduce a new challenge into their already retarded game. this is not even a challenge in that it cannot be overcome or countered, it is apure limitation in an attempt to make the game harder in absence of a real challenge. sadly, however, I'm addicted to this game , so ill wind up buying destiny 2 after the game bungie said would be a 10-15 year game (D1) is basically shut down.

While I appreciate your somewhat attempting to voice your concerns at no point have you highlighted anything that you think could have been done better or how. All you have done is moan about a game you have not yet played and while I will agree at times you can believe something is the most likely scenario you are currently complaining about something when you have no way to prove or backup anything you have said. Wait until you actually play something, then confirm your opinion if you really must, but your opinion is not the word of everyone, you can believe something is not good but that doesn't mean people who disagree with you are wrong any more than someone thinking the game is good before playing it can say it is.

Edited by RPColten: 7/10/2017 5:27:03 AMGoing on the topic of limited damage weapons, I just watched a 26 minute strike gameplay footage and they only spent 8 minutes on the boss. That sounds (and it looked) about equal to time I spent fighting bosses in Destiny. That is not to mention that the fireteam only had access to "demo" weapons, weapons that are preselected to be in the players inventory, so they may not have had access to more powerful gear. On top of that, the encounters with yellow-bared enemies and groups went very well when the team actually decided to coordinate and focus. I'm trying to view this whole situation in the light of a co-op shooter, which is what Destiny 2 will be. It will be a game meant to be played with a group, whether that group be pre-made or formed with a matchmaker. Whether or not it is still fun is entirely subjective and doesn't make a very good point of critique.

2 RepliesOP casts Wall of Text. It's super ineffective.

5 RepliesEdited by FairlySplendid: 7/8/2017 3:59:19 PMWhen it comes to my general D2 outlook, I'll post something I've posted a couple times on here: At some point, "staunch" naysayers have to stop and realize that they are being "that guy". The one that shows up before the release of every video game to tell us how they are underwhelmed and upset about X, Y and Z. Maybe even sprinkling in a canceling preorder "threat". You have to be self-aware enough to realize that you are probably overthinking some things, undervaluing and/or dismissing others, being nostalgic in some respects and nitpicking in others respects. While, yes, we absolutely need to stay on top of Bungie, to give us the best possible product, many of the criticisms I'm seeing are premature. Based on limited information, a whole lot of assumptions and a unhealthy dose of speculation. What we are really looking for in D2, that "feeling", will be there. Bungie still knows how to trap lighting in a bottle. They still know that recipe for the secret sauce that makes playing their games a joy. 30 Seconds of Fun Mantra etc.... IMHO, their are too many players out there in the community simply standing in the way of their own good time. It's a video game. Bungie makes great video games. Every game we play doesn't need to be the second coming of Christ, for us to enjoy it and find pleasure in it. Gamers are losing perspective on why we play video games and, at-its-core, why we play Bungie games. Call it D1 fatigue, call it the hype-roller-coaster, call it gaming industry frustration, call it nostalgia, call it whatever you like.... It's skewing viewpoints. Gamers seem to be subconsciously looking for reasons to be disappointed/upset. Every element or decision you personally don't agree with is evil incarnate. On some emotional level, gamers are simultaneously wanting nothing to change and EVERYTHING to change. Those expectations will never be met. How many times has this community (particularly this forum) been guilty of overreacting, dismissing, misunderstanding or making false assumptions about some aspect of Destiny. Only to discover their line of reasoning was flawed, later on down the road? Rhetorical question. I'm not really here to debate or argue with anyone, just here to say my peace.

BUT AT LEAST THEIRS -blam!-ING CHICKENS. sigh

3 RepliesIt's gonna be the same in D1.5 with no dedicated servers or a new engine 👎🏻

15 RepliesYou have salt incoming. The Bungie fanboys are vigorously defending this completely unnecessary change. I agree with you though.

4 RepliesWall of text. Still read it. Ha! as an xbro i don't have to worry about the borealis being a meta so i am actually happy about that. I am very ok with everything taking longer its a new game again everything should be hard. As for raids if an idiot takes in 2 sidearms he deserves to get his ass beat for it. Final thing. What we have seen so far are old builds what will be the release build will likely be different in many ways. The reason they gave us all that "info" in all those videos was to get feedback before release so they could go back and see if their decisions were worth it.

4 RepliesEdited by slimdeathstar: 7/9/2017 2:09:31 AMI would just rather them word things differently, and all of us would feel better. SO LET ME DO IT FOR BUNGIE. It's gonna cost 100$ a year to play. Or you can buy separately, and it'll cost more. Every 2 years we wipe the game clean, or you'll need a 20tb hdd, and a cray supercomputer with 5 pascal gpu's to run it. That, and you'll still be shooting the same F'n fallen on earth that you have been for 10 f'n years. No one want to play the VOG all the time. For 10 f'n years. In 3 years consoles will be 8k. We can remaster the vog, and you can revisit it in it's glory.

5 RepliesYou speak about stuff that you just don't know all the details of. Such an ignorant thing to do.

6 RepliesEdited by Powermix24: 7/7/2017 3:31:31 AMI like it when someone compares D1's System to D2 .....and yet , we haven't even played D2 but still use the mind set of D1 arguing against it . LOL> ! LOCKED LOADOUTS ARE OK If they FIT THE NARRATIVE .

3 RepliesI quit reading after your first two sentences and here's why. Although you may think you're losing dps, you don't actually know... you do not know if bungie has adjusted enemy health according to the new load outs.... I've watched the gameplay, I'm sure you have as well. What's different? I've seen multiple games of people finishing a strike in 8-13 minutes. That's average strike time. Let's not forget the fact that Destiny has a track record for being fairly simple. This is bungies way of changing that, while making pvp a more balanced battle ground. (Losing 6v6 kind of blows, but that's something they may change, we don't know yet....)

2 RepliesLearn how to construct a proper sentence and maybe I'll read it.
-
2 RepliesI agree with your stance, but I recommend you break it up into paragraphs and use proper grammar. You'll get more respect and more people will take you seriously, especially if you ever expect to get bungie's attention.

I'm addicted to this game , so ill wind up buying destiny 2 after the game bungie said would be a 10-15 year game (D1) is basically shut down.
The story goes that Bungie intended Destiny to have a Ten Year Plan, so I'm not sure where you are getting the 15 from. But it doesn't really matter because it was incorrectly interpreting a ten-year deal between Activision and Bungie as a ten-year game:
"It just became the narrative. I mean, I drive a Honda Civic. I don’t know s**t about $500 million. A ten-year plan? It’s a ten-year partnership agreement. It has nothing to do with the development of the game proper. To think that somehow, before Destiny had shipped, we had some ten-year plan written down somewhere? It’s comical."
https://www.forbes.com/sites/davidthier/2015/09/21/bungie-theres-no-ten-year-plan-for-destiny/#6c8c1c6966f8

1 ReplyEdited by TRDoug: 7/7/2017 12:17:36 PMEveryone keeps saying bungie this and bungie that......but lets remember who's steering the beast....PUKE SMITH!!!!!......He's unprofessional, untidy and dresses like he's related to Oscar the grouch and has worse social skills than a rock. I know he's first and foremost a programmer and has that image to uphold BUT when you're one of the heads of a company there should be a certain level in which you present yourself. I can't help but imagine things would be much better if my 6 year old son was running bungie....

There'll be a "what's next" and "now what" moment when people finish the campaign in several hours. There'll be a lot of shouting and swearing and demanding for more content.
-
2 RepliesWhy would we want to play a game with an engine meant for last gen, although D2's engine doesn't look like much of an update.
-
Or they could just add mechanics to the fight to stun bosses where all weapons and abilities do increased damage like every other game with raids.

They never said d1 they referee to the franchise as a whole
