New player, which class to use my boost on?

I just got the game two days ago, and have tried all three classes. At the start they all seem very similar, so not sure which class to use my lvl 40 and lvl 25 boosts on. I will be a casual solo player mainly, and not sure which will be my main yet. Leaning towards the warlock for my 40 boost, and the hunter for the 25 boost. Any suggestions?

  • Use it on what you will play the least or second least, there isn't really time to play through all of destiny on each character but if you ever need a break from your main then you can have that to switch to

  • If you think they're similar. You're mistaken. Play the story on one completely.

  • Don't use it on your first character. Play the game, do every mission, level up with your own means and learn. Then if you want you can use on your second and third character. If you going solo mostly you should either go titan or hunter.

    • Titan if you like PvE support class. Always required for Raids. Warlock for neutral game. The best supers and abilities in the game. Hunter, easy mode for PvP. Better support class for PvE. Did I mention how many clutch moments you'll have?

      • Stormcaller or Striker Titan for PvP, Nightstalker or Defender Titan for PvE. So for a well rounded class for all activities Titan is the obvious choice. If you're after a dedicated PvP class I'd go Warlock because Stormcaller is tier 1 with Voidwalker shortly behind that. Sunsinger is ass after all the nerfs but it's ok for PvE if you always die on your team in raids etc. Hunters are in a weird place and have been for a long time. They are great fun to play in both PvE and PvP but they don't dominate in PvP like they once did. Goldie is only good for certain maps and then you have to decide between blade which can still be viable if played correctly or nightstalker which has a great neutral game but a poop super. However the poop super is OP in PvE so every class has its ups and downs. All the classes and subclasses have a place but in the current state of the game Warlocks & Titans are the strongest in PvP and Hunters / Titans for PvE. Titan again being the most viable all round imo and this is coming from a beta player who at one time had three hunters, Titan was the last class I finally got around to late dark below. Good luck have fun

      • Fyi: there is a downside to using the boosts. They don't level up your subclass, so your abilities won't be unlocked by using it. It's probably worth it to just level up normally so you have all your abilities by the time you hit the higher levels.

      • Don't waste your spark. Get to 40 the honest way. You will be thankful in the end.

      • It's not really worth it, to be honest. You'll be level 40 but your subclasses will be level 1. Just play the campaign and enjoy. Maybe pull a friend into it if you have any who also bought the game. That's where the real Destiny is.

      • Go with the Warlock and Hunter. For me the Warlock with Stormtrance is excellent for the casual PvPer. And the Hunter is aching at PvE.

      • Your last guardian. They don't unlock anything just raise you to that level and give you gear appropriate for it. Play through the game's story as best you can first atleast it's a bit of a challenge then. Otherwise you kind of just steam roll everything.

      • Use your lvl 25 boost, then use your lvl 40 boost on the same character.
