Eyasluna, Palindrome and Ice Breaker need to be either nerfed or removed from game altogether
It makes absolutely no sense that these weapons are used as much as they are. Bungie no one cares about trials most people can't even go flawless because you allow people to cling on to highly aims assisted weapons they master it and are damn near unbeatable. PvP is fun to meta users ONLY. Theres absolutely no reason that people should be clinging on to these weapons with as many as guns there are on this game. Do way with meta hand cannons should not be out firing assault pulse rifles at long range but these range rolls on palindrome and eyasluna are ridiculous. Where's the diversity? I thought destiny was about creativity and exploring new things? How can any of these people learn new play styles when you allow them to covet the same weapons over and over again. People literally stand in the open with ice breaker and die all just because they want a one shot kill. They don't want to work for the kill. We have all the abilities we have and that's the best people can do? This isn't competitive this is sad and down right sad and pathetic. Bring year one pvp back where you rarely saw people using the same weapon in pvp.

Or you can just grab a good pulse rifle or autorifle and "git gud". Honestly, those that complain about what other players are using are just as bad as those that rely heavily on certain weapons and playstyles. Learn to play your way, and stop trying to dictate how others play.

1 ReplyYear one was the year of Thorn (and a few other goodies)! I rarely used anything else in PvP at that time - can't beat 'em join 'em!! Icebreaker was amazing in year one too, with ammo regen in the region of 3secs I think. Plus, I think the day of updates and fixes for D1 is most likely over. Enjoy what we have left, get yourself a Palindrome or whatever the meta is and join in. Don't get mad get even ;)

1 ReplyI agree wth ice breaker. I think you need to take the red pill when it comes to hand cannons. Their range has been nerfed like 10 times. Ice breaker should be removed from pvp altogether.

No more updates are coming to Destiny. Adapt to or adopt the "meta" but nothing will be changing.

Hand Cannon range has been nerfed so many times -- if you're getting outgunned by one at pulse rifle range, that is your fault, not the gun. Lastly, and this is where Bungie has gone wrong, usage is the last thing you should base balance patches on. I know it's frustrating to die but that's part of playing a FPS shooter. Stop whining about whatever kills you. Instead of whining about the gun, why don't you maybe look at yourself for why you died? Egotism is the real problem in this game. Get outplayed? Your fault. Blame yourself, not your opponent's loadout. I know it's a novel concept to do something like that, but believe me. It's liberating. Do you people never learn? We're in this meta for a reason and part of that reason is the constant complainers like you.

1 Reply-blam!-ing calm down kid, don't complain about shit you've never realized has been nerfed so many times before... Icebreaker has been nerfed numerous times... back in year 1 that thing had almost 1/2 the zoom and regenerated ammo every 2.8 seconds, the "handcanon" meta was back in year 1 and was worse than this ever could be... and right now i use weapons that aren't even close to the meta list and i still win games, and completely stomp people using double sticks, wormwood and a mida or such loadouts because i've taken the time to learn the weapons recoil patterns and ranges of effectiveness to the point where i'm almost completely above those weapons in every way, If you really think thats bad, you need to sit your ass down and watch a clip of year 1 handcannon meta and such videos, you will be stunned and what destiny used to be like, the fact that you could hit shots from any handcannon so consistently at the ranges of a scout rifle and not have falloff damage, make the current state of them, most balanced than anything, icebreaker is actually a harder sniper to use than most, the only reason it's on the meta list is because it regenerates ammo, if it couldn't do that, no one would really use it as they do now... what really needs tweaking is just special and if you could keep it, the changes in crucible would be tremendous, people would then bitch about how "snipers are op" and "last word is op" but right now, those weapons aren't complained about because they haven't had their competitors nerfed until their current state is good enough to be "meta" when the term meta in destiny is so overly used because at the current weapon status it's almost more balanced than what you give it credit for, if you really want destiny's current pvp to change, i say bring it back to year 1 but tweak the auto rifles to be better and certain weapons to be adjusted specifically and we'd be more better off than bungie realizes...

Bungie already announced that they will not be doing anymore balancing so your best bet is to remove yourself from the game instead of asking for ridiculous nerf this or remove this complaints. If your losing gunfights to people using hand cannons at range then try aiming for headshots instead of aiming for nutsacks.
