Well... I have to say you did throw out "fanboy" which is not a very brilliant term, I probably fit your definition as well. I enjoy Destiny, I'm going to wait and see what D2 brings. If it's more of D1, I'll enjoy it. I'm just tired of all the posts describing how terrible it's going to be, by people who haven't even played it (and who have thousands of hours on D1 yet say they hate this game).

Don't hate it. Just can't find the motivation to jump on board with part 2, honestly feel like the past 3 years were a farce in that everything we have collected will now be cyber dust, and we more or less have to do it all again. None of that "10 year continuation" we were promised. And I can't help but feel if this happens now, what happenes between Destiny 2 and 3 then? More of the same? A restart so those who play casual can feel like they "catch up" because everyone has to start again? I dunno man. None pre ordered on the fence here. Don't like the way it's playing out. And the recent reveal that very little of Destiny's established grimoire based lore may no longer be cannon is another bitter hit to take.

The continuation is in the story. I don't really mind a little retcon, it was good for Star Wars, it's good for Destiny. Eventually we'll break into the old Suros warehouse or some such- clearly, since Suros logos are visible on weapons in the adverts. I'd be surprised as hell if at some point we don't re-discover the Regime via some quest or another. And I'm sure some of the classics will return in some form or another- and then everyone will bitch because Bungie are too lazy to come up with new weapons. Except if they come up with all new weapons, and then the complaints are that we wanted to keep our old weapons. I understand the narrative reasons [i]and[/i] the game reasons to do a clean sweep of our inventory. I called for this 6 months ago. It makes perfect sense to me, it levels the playing field for new players and it empties the vaults to make room for new gear, instead of having to deal with adding new items on top of 3 years' worth of old loot. As well as the headache of trying to adapt D1 weapons into the new D2 system.
