Destiny- worth every penny
No matter how much I bitch about things in this game I have to say I have never had a game that I have played for 3 yrs straight or spent as much money on and I don't regret 1 sec of it.
Thank you bungie and I'm looking forward to Destiny 2. Best money I ever spent on a game and I've been playing since Atari 2600 and I'm 42 yrs old

5 RepliesAgreed. The people complaining must be young and/or have no real concept of value. If you're expecting any game to provide endless content that will keep you busy for 8 hours a day, every day, all for pennies on the hour, then you're in for a lot of disappointment in your hobby. I have some 900 hours in Destiny and feel like I've got a bargain. People with 3000 hours questioning the valie of Destiny and accusing Bungie of greedy cash grabs are, frankly, delusional.

2 RepliesMy major gripes were 31 vendor armour and forever 29. The nerf of the hopscotch pilgrim < Ammo synths and menu that CONSTANTLY BOOTS YOU (to watch ships flying) or to wait fckin' ages to pop a synth. Apart from that destiny has been a great game.

Destiny 2 is gonna be awesome. There's been ups and downs here, but ultimately I can always come back and find some fun to be had. Made a lot of great friends in this game too. :)

1 ReplyI'm 42 as well and have been playing since Atari and Intellivision. The only game I've played as much as Destiny was probably Resistance 2 on the PS3. Loved that game and the PVP even with all the lag.

My friends and I used to nightfall every Tuesday, do the occasional raid, and generally loved the game in year one. Taking away our gear, making us regrind for it, and overall recycling all great weapons was highly annoying, and this last update was the end line for me. Not sure whether I will pick up D2 or not. The lack of matchmaking in nightfalls and quest lines and timers preventing soloing nightfalls makes a player like me (solo mostly) skeptical of how valuable D2 will be to a solo player. Destiny was definitely one of my favorite games of all time, and it was worth the money I paid for it (especially up until TTK).

Agreed. People complained about the nothing carrying over and yeah I'm cross but I'm guessing that this game was a learning experience for Bungie. They left Halo and decided to play with the big boys and be adventurous. Destiny 2 should be a fantastic improvement and I look forward to seeing new stuff and hopefully some old favorites cough helm of saint 14 and maybe evolution of our current powers as well as added new ones. Titans with void armor and void weapons wink wink. People complaining about the ten year thing forgot that this incarnation of destiny was 3 years and also we didn't have a complete game. Destiny 2 hopefully will be complete and keep adding more and more since we have pc people now - see Warframe =)

There would be about 1 / 4 the hours that people put in. Most off the 1000 hours were year 1. Let's compare time played in year 2 and 3 compared to 1. It is a drastic drop off. Year one was almost every day play. Year 3 was play for 1 month. Hit 400. Done.

I dont regret the time I put in. But its not like there was inherently anything spectacular about the game. From what I gather from everybody who is like "this is my best gaming experience" I chalk it up to them meeting people and finding friends and its those people not the game that made the experience great for them. I would describe this as a "formative" experience for many people which makes them look at destiny a lot more fondly than others looking at it from a more objective perspective. I personally have not met anyone in destiny I would play other games with and or just hang out with. My formative experience was with left for dead 1. That game almost 10 years ago is the game I met most if not all of the xbox live buddies I hang out with now (and played destiny with). I will say L4D is a superior game to destiny and can explain a couple reason why but I probably have at least some bias the way destiny lovers do. I would also asert that for a game to be really... how do I say this.... for a game to be a really good "experience" it needs to have some aspect of story and world building thats really impactful. Although my wording is poor and I will admit its a very personal thing. Think shadow of the collosus, zelda, brothers a tale of 2 sons, final fantasy, kingdom hearts. Games that make you care about the characters and the world they live in. These kind of games transcend just being fun to play which is about all I can give to destiny Is that it is a fairly fun game with solid gameplay, interesting raid design, and great artwork. A quick question would be "did you cry when the queen 'died'? Did you care at all?" When I was younger the ending of kingdom hearts really made me tear up for example. That game hit me right in the feels.
