New VoG Info- Warning Spoilers

Hey guys me and my raid team just got done doing Heroic VoG and checking out all the new changes, and I thought I'd put down everything we found out. Note that the changes are only live on the current Heroic version and if you don't believe me on anything you can try it yourself. Entering Vog- Nothing has changed, probably just going to be a few more minotaurs. New chest discovered in the path that you take for No Time to Explain. Main theory is that it will give a class item and legendary engram like the ones in Crota. Confluxes- For the entire area a lot of the cheeses have been blocked off. Spirit bloom chest area has been blocked off until Templar is killed, the pillar has been extended up higher, there are new turn back barriers both above and in the right corner so you can't hide anywhere. You can no longer sit up top and snipe as there is a turn back barrier. There is a small ledge they missed on the right side that can fit 3 people however. You cannot stay up and snipe anymore as you will receive the "joining allies" if you are above the turn back barrier. Harpies explode. Recommended classes include bubbles, tethers, sunsingers, and sunbreakers. Oracles- They spawn a lot quicker and in higher quantity per round, guestimate puts them about 8-10 per round. They spawn fasted but stay up for a bit longer so you have a bit of breathing room.There are now only 3 rounds. Good weapons include Any Vog weapon, once you get them, dark drinker, outbreak prime, and sleeper (I don't recommend sleeper since it can bounce back and kill you) Classes same as Confluxes. Templar- You need to have 3 on 1 side and 2 on the other with the relic guy moving about. Oracles are now red and take more to kill. If you miss one your team will receive the "Prophecy of doom" debuff like with Atheon and wipe within a few seconds. Oracles take about 1 heavy hit from dark drinker, 3 shotgun/sniper shots, or 1 sleeper shot. Recommended classes to have include: 2 blinding bubbles, 1 on either side, storm caller, tethers and celestial nighthawks. Have 1 person from each side on ad duty once they start spawning. Theories on templar challenge include: No teleporting, everyone has to hold the aegis once, a different person must take off his shields/ block teleport each time, and kill all oracles every round (last one unlikely due to new mechanic). Chests are still in the same spot for the exotic chest, blocking templar from teleporting, and the one in the gorgons labyrinth. Gorons Labyrinth: The cheese has been taken out as far as our testing goes, it may still be in but we cannot seem to achieve it as we may be doing it wrong like the potatoes we are. You can now respawn if your killed, Gorgons no longer respawn when killed, and they no longer get stronger when one is killed. Makes it super easy to kill them all. Take it slow and kill 1 at a time, it will take up at least 1/2 your heavy if you dont have celestial nighthawk. Recommended classes include: 1 weapons bubble, tethers, celestial nighthawks, and sunsinger with vikings funeral. Equipment includes swords and sleepers. (If you have 1 young wolves howl and 5 raze lighters it makes it a lot easier) I do not recommend dark drinker since it can push them away from the group. Jumping puzzle: it is the same as before. Gatekeeper: Gatekeeper now teleports immediately once you start damaging him, meaning you can't stay in the back room and snipe him. Gatekeeper now spawns an additional aegis when downed. Unsure of it's intended use at the moment but my theory is that its just there to help kill ads and provide safety for your team. The recommended strat is to start on one side and send 2-3 people in, including the guy with the 3rd relic, and get that relic before moving on to the other side. Remember that everything will be harder to kill so play it safe. Atheon: As far as we observed not much ahs changed during this fight. Oracles now spawn faster and the top Oracle spawn has been removed. You will want to have a sleeper and a good sniper on until you get good VoG weapons, such as Atheon's Epilogue, for oracles. Theories for challenge include: Everyone must hold relic at one point, you cannot kill or damage Atheon with Times Vengence active. Recommended gear includes: Any high impact sniper, sleeper simulate. Classes include 1 Tether, as many celestial nighthawks as possible, bubbles. Information will be updated as more info comes in. Edit 1: Edit to oracle spawns and jumping puzzle thanks to information by Gravemind Edit 2: Super good advice is good for the oracles Edit 3/4: :o first time trending.       • Me: Don't use a sleeper Guy: why not? * shoots oracle, it gets destroyed but the bullet bounces 3 times, until the fourth...* "See, its perfectly fine to use a slee- AUGH" "Guardian down!" "Hahahaha, now thats why you don't use a sleeper. "Awe shut up."

        • Challenge mode would be probably kill atheon only whit supers, whit time of vengeance u have always super, so it would be also a challenge, because u cant do a lot of damage only whit supers ( 6 gunsingers doesnt count )

          • Maybe the Atheon cheese is back and challenge is to push Atheon off the ledge. Bungie said Atheon will be the most difficult boss encounter yet. That could be reverse psychology and in fact will be the easiest.

              Every challenge in every raid has been optional and doesn't change how the mechanics function in any way. Templar challenge will most likely require you to prevent him from teleporting and destroying every single Oracle that spawns. Atheon challenge could really be anything. I think it will most likely have to do with Time's Vengeance. Killing him without it wouldn't be much of a challenge and just doesn't make much sense. I personally think you will have to kill him after the first teleportation during the amount of time you get with the first Time's Vengeance, which would be extremely difficult.

              • The whole point of defeating Atheon is using times vengeance. I doubt the challenge will be to not use time vengeance. If that's the case then that's pretty dumb

                      • Unfortunately I see a lot of newer players struggling on the Templar part. Not getting him to teleport takes a little coordination and I'm not sure lfg groups of randoms are going to have very much fun lol. People need to find steady raid groups so they can learn some coordination and mechanics properly. Watching YouTube vids and actually doing it first hand, are two entirely different things. I still see people struggling even after watching videos, so that is not always a "cure all" approach. I have found that is the best way to beat raids easily. Sticking with the same people. If you find people you click with you should add them and do raids together more often, instead of the lfg approach. That's why I believe in matchmaking for raids, because eventually you would find people you click with, and will have a more steady team to gain experience with the raids. Matchmaking would be a quicker way to find people, rather than lfg. Yes, you would come across afkers or jerks, but you come across similar types with lfg as well. Matchmaking would make finding teams quicker. You don't like a few people? Send a message to the few players you do like, leave, add them to the fireteam, then re-enter matchmaking together to find the rest of your team. Done. Raid with them from now on.

                        • My guess is the second aegis @templar might be to allow one team to shield a teleport spot to keep him off, while another drops his shield as necessary. Alternatively, you might need to coordinate both supers to drop his shield by firing at the same time. I could be wrong though, so we'll see tomorrow.

                        • Me and my group did VoG Saturday. Everything you said is correct from what I remember except for the jumping puzzle. The puzzle itself is the same, but for people that used to do the shorter jump (the lower cliff) rather than the puzzle: they have walled it off. Got two deaths because of it.

                          • I am hoping for a 400 Praetorian Foil. That is the best for taking out Oracles, including those red ones (2 shots regardless if its white or red)

                            • The jumping puzzle has one change. If you use the 2 platforms to the lower left of where you first emerge on the platform there is an invisible wall that blocks you from jumping directly onto them. I have made me jump in 2 separate ways so far. One, I hugged he rock wall and seemed to pass by it. And with twilight once I fell a bit the wall ended and I could twilight forward and pick up my jump and BARELY make it to the platform. From there you can still fly over to the ledge and complete that part easily.

                            • Here is a thought with the Atheon Fight. Of course the fight is normal but this time Atheon has a over shield like Crota and other raid bosses and you have to shoot the relic at him to take it down while time vengeance on to do damage to him
