I say this as a conservative myself, in a couple years the ideals of conservatism will end and be replaced with something close to socialism and communism. It is inevitable and the reason for the end of conservatism is extremely ironic.
Capitalism, in a few years capitalism will kill conservatism.
This is the part where I tell you how and why, in one word “robots”.
More specifically automation, in a few years from now robots will replace most jobs belonging to blue collar workers and it will take out a lot of white collar worker jobs as well.
Let me paint a picture for you, imagine a farm in Kansas. Once the sun rises and activates the light sensors a drone crop duster will fly out and perfectly spray the fields, drone tractors roll out and tend the field in perfect pattern, devices harvest the crops and drop them at another location for robots to perfectly stack and box in perfect amounts, they perfectly fill these boxes into a self-driving container truck that has pressure plates set to a perfect weight that tells it when to move these goods to another factory, that is now awaiting the shipment of goods, oh and this factory is also entirely made up of robots as well….you get the idea.
This isn’t some lofty dream, I have seen plans and designs for these things already, the engineering department at my school is already training people to design these places like they already exist. Demand is high, these robots are cheaper and better than human workers by a long shot. They don’t get tired and they don’t make mistakes. The worst part is we have reached the point where it will be robots making and servicing robots.
Many people will be completely out of a job in a couple years as they get replaced by robots, they can’t remain poor so the government must adjust for it. They must live on welfare and the government will have to devalue and subsidize many goods and services. Yes prices will plummet but with a zero income its all the same regardless. The one thing I can think of whenever I discuss this topic is how one of the many factors that played into the fall of Rome was the fact that they had too many slaves, they couldn’t adjust fast enough.
Its over, eventually the only viable jobs will not only be slowly replaced but will see oversaturation to the point where the wages will drop incredibly, luxury items and frivolous materialistic bullshit will be on the rise so the suicide rate will probably go up as well as many will not be able to attain this due to their inherent nature. All of this will be controlled by entertainment which will see a huge spike as people will be bored out of their mind, but as such it will also become more formulaic and robots will replace that too, http://www.businessinsider.com/8-awesome-robots-that-can-play-music-better-than-most-humans-2016-2
In a couple years humans will be more dependable on factors they have no true control over than ever, the government will be bigger and more powerful than ever seen before and nothing can stop this.

1 ReplyYou know, (I'm going off on a tangent here btw) I find it funny how people want better technology and more automation, things that are supposed to make people's lives easier, but then they complain about people being lazy, dependant and having it easy these days. Like don't be in favour of removing all physical labour jobs, and then end up complaining when everyone gets fat due to sitting in front of a computer all day.

14 RepliesLol no it won't conservatism is the only thing that makes sense. Cmon OP I'm not speaking for the Republican Party, or conservatives, or libertarians. I'm speaking on behalf of conservative nature. It's literally the only way of thinking that is right. If you're in the desert you don't drink all your water at once. You conserve it. You don't pour it out because you want the plants to grow. If you're a person who makes a steady income at your job you don't spend every dime of your paycheck by giving it to your neighbor. That doesn't make you a good person. It makes you an idiot. You conserve the money you make, by making decisions that affect your ability to continue making money. If you've got enough to cover all your bases, you should feel more than happy to spend the excess money liberally. There is no shame in that. Liberal people are idiots, conservative people are mindful and there are a lot of people in between who should literally be deported because they are also idiots. I'm all for taking in refugees but only if we get to trade our libtards for them. If they don't want the libtards then I don't want the refugees.

Still going to need people to service everything. Also I don't see farmers relying on an automated systems anytime soon. I know to many farmers and not a one of them are ok with robots tending their fields. Also a lot of farmers own fields miles down the road from their own field. Are they going to trust their equipment to drive down the road on its own?

1 ReplyEdited by LxGhostSniperxL: 2/1/2017 10:03:03 PMWhile I agree, automation will inevitably get rid of all work, I disagree that there will be a loss of jobs. I believe that the economy will shift to a more creative, design heavy, entertaining, more human one. What can humans do that robots can't? Be imaginative. In other words, think like a human. Now that may change further down the line, but people will likely shift towards more human made things rather than automated ones. Other job fields that will prosper: 1. Robotic maintenence (robots still can't do everything for themselves) 2. Robotic creation (idea and invention, not actual physical creation) 3. Medical field- we'll always want humans dealing in human health. 4. Entertainment- musicians, painters, designers, creators 5. (The major one) Tech Security- you'll definitely see a substantial rise in technological security due to everything being automated. We're humans. We'll adapt. Most of out ancestors were farmers. Now only a small percentage of us are. The economy will adjust itself.

3 RepliesEdited by U6757109: 2/2/2017 1:26:29 PMConservatism is a disease that wants to take all human progress and push it back 100 years to a day when corporations ruled everything and the poor were left starving working for slave wages. The ultimate hypocrisy of Conservatives is that they themselves are Socialists too. They love to redistribute the wealth in the form of wages via the US Military. Conservatives are Socialists for giant oil corporations and the military-murder machine. Progressives are Socialists for the poor/working class and healthcare for all citizens. While Conservatives destroy every last ounce of nature of this planet, Progressives will be trying preserve this planet and all species on it. It's happening right now: Republi-blam!-s in Congress are trying to privatize our country's national parks. Conservatism is an apathetic mental illness that desperately needs to be cured with logic, facts and altruism.

1 ReplyWell, we'd better go ahead and find John Connor and make sure he's ready to save humanity. How long until Skynet is created and starts making Terminators?

This is why there need to be a laws dictating that if a human is capable of completing the task, an automaton cannot be used. Only situations in which a human cannot complete the task may a machine do the job.

The act of jobs being taken up by machines cannot eradicate a political ideology. I don't think conservatism was the right term to use here.

"Conservatism will soon die out"
Because simply saying something will make it so. Or better yet; predicting the future will make it come true. And you are... Who? And you are an authority on... What? And we should just take your word for it because... You say this is how it will be? Oh wait... Are you one of the 1%? Because if you're not... Apparently we both have nothing better to do tonight other than waste our time with nonsense.

2 RepliesAnd such will arise jobs to have maintenance on said robots. Always a job to do.

1 ReplySoon far left stupidity will die out after 8 years of mine Fuhrer Trump eradicating the mindless dribble of the SJW mind. Condoms and abortions dont grow a population. Bibles and weddings do.

1 ReplySo you're premise really is -Technology can replace certain jobs/positions -This will cause a lack of jobs for humans. -Therefore welfare will be inevitable for most of us. Conservatism will die. Does anyone else not see the problem with this? It's a perfect example of a slippery slope fallacy. -You assume technology will replace enough to cause a lack of jobs -You assume that the job market will remain the same and there wont be any new kinds of jobs people could pursue as a career -You assume that our government wants to make everything autonomous -You assume that when conservatism fails, communism and socialism will be the only other logical option. This is a very, very simple list of the major assumptions this post makes. These are only surface assumptions. This post is logically corrupt on the inside, just as much as it is on the surface.

Edited by Vgnut: 2/2/2017 1:14:30 AMIt is going to be one of the greatest societal challenges we have had to face. I cannot see a way out other than some form of a universal basic income. A society where a few can make unimaginable riches from doing some work at their computers while the masses live in poverty is not going to end harmoniously.
