Is Mass Effect a good game to get into?

If you haven't played the first one then it's gonna be a bit shitty because it's old. The story is really good though so I would just do a quick play through on easy. The second Mass Effect is a masterpiece. Not only must you play it, but you must complete every side mission and cherish each moment of game play. Mass Effect 3 is good too, but ultimately kind of a let down after 2. And if you're ballin' on a budget just pay for a month of EA Access and play them all free.

I didn't play the series till 3 was out for awhile. I was looking for co op and multiplayer games and picked up 2 copies for my bro and I. Multiplayer was pretty fun. I then started the story and quickly realized there's choices in previous games that change the world. I kept playing until I met a pretty famed character. I stopped there. I picked up me1 and 2. Played through 1, loved the story, loved the characters, and became best homies with that famed character. Progress on afterwards, and damn its so good. You gotta like the basic premise of the world too though, and have a general interest in sci fi, and all that stuff. It isn't a game genre nor a story genre that you could force yourself into just because you may have heard it's good.

I just started it in preparation for Andromeda, and I love it. I'm on Mass Effect 2 right now. Mass Effect 1 had some pretty clunky mechanics, and the some of the character development wasn't very satisfying. However, 2 is really impressing me so far. It's improved a lot of the stuff I didn't like, as well as introduced somethings new that are pretty cool. Definitely worth a shot if you want to try something new!

1 ReplyHold off for andromeda. Whilst they're good games, 1 is very dated and repetitive now. Andromeda is the start of a new plot line.
