I am able to connect to and play Destiny with no issues (most days), but I am never able to connect to anyone unless specifically invited. If they go to a sociaal space after I am part of the team, then there are people like normal, but not if I am alone, outside a team. Matchmaking also never finds anyone. I use satellite internet (unfortunately it is my only option. Some days it is fine, others, not so much)
My Nat tends to fluctuate between open and moderate, except those few days where I have terrible connection and don't play anyway where it is strict. I never change it myself and don't even remember how/if I can. I do not know if that is the issue anyhow. I get a mongoose error when i try to join in pvp, just saying I was unable to find a match in time. With strikes, it just launches it solo after looking for a while. Social spaces and patrols are always empty of people. Help please, I would really like to finish some of my group stuff and perhaps actually do the TTK and ROI raids, haha.

23 RepliesOutside of the box question for you, do you run through a router, if not do you have handy?

4 RepliesEdited by RedPhoenix HD: 11/25/2016 8:30:30 PMSatellite will never be a good option for this type of game. It requires a premium and persistent data connection and the latency on satellite is simply waaaaay too high for that to happen, not to mention you will generally have lost packets no matter what you do, due to the amount of distance the signal must travel. Since connection type and degree of performance is part of the matchup equation, you are getting taken out of the equation since there is likely nobody with a similar connection at the time you are playing. Go to the Settings section and run the detailed network report. If there are any packets lost or a latency higher than 80ms (100ms max), you are going to have a tough time playing this game, especially with a fluctuating NAT. Your upload may not be that high either, since many satellite connections rely on a simple DSL connection for sending data.
