Sugar is a good thing, unless your body doesn't create enough of its own insulin, then it becomes a problem. When you have diabetes, and you can't just make your body produce its own insulin, you take insulin to help the situation. You don't just "do nothing" since you can't just make your body produce more insulin on its own. SBMM would be a good thing, if it didn't cause such a huge problem, in the absence of dedicated servers. There is a ton of lag in the crucible because of it. So, since we can't get dedicated servers for Destiny, your solution is to just do nothing? Just allow the lag to remain to be horrible, because in theory SBMM is a good idea, even though it causes so many problems without good connections? "It's a good idea, even though it doesn't work, because we don't have what it would take for it to work, so we should just leave it." Good logic!

  • You accuse me of failed logic.... yet lets take stock of the situation. I think we all agree that lag is what has everyone so salty. We all hate the unkillable redbar. Now, for argument's sake we'll assume that this isn't a cheater, but your typical player having a bad connection day. We'll also assume that you are also an average joe skill wise. You both live in the same large city. Is removing SBMM going to make guy A not lag? No. Is dealing with guy A going to be more or less fun when you now have the very real possibility of a handful of advanced players pubstomping you and/or your even weaker teammates? Can you follow the logic here? SBMM isn't the problem. The net code, the lack of dedicated servers, etc. is the problem. The same things that have been a problem throughout Destiny. You fault my logic yet after three years think that these underlying problems are going to magically be fixed because of an online tantrum and removal of SBMM.

  • I'm sure there are some people out there that do have Internet that is just so bad, that it would cause them to "red-bar" regardless. But in the current system, we've got "those guys" that are close to us, plus the people that are "red-barring", because of the connection being to someone from across the globe, plus "those guys" that are on the other side of the world that have bad Internet themselves. If we could cut down on all of the lag, and "red-bars" that come from connecting to people that are half a world away, due to SBMM, I'm willing to bet that the number of "red-bars", that are due purely to bad Internet, especially here in the states, is a lot less than what you're perceiving. I realize it would be inevitable to run into people with bad Internet, but at least you would only run into those few; instead of them, plus all of the bad connection that comes from SBMM. Plus, I'd rather be stomped by someone with more skill than me, and the occasional "red-bar", where I've actually got a chance; rather than be stomped by a whole team that has "God mode", due to lag, game after game after game; where it just doesn't matter what I do, or how good I play, because no matter what, I'm gonna lose, because there's no possible way for me to damage, or kill them.
