I feel like a lot of people just hit their Destiny breaking point
we have been saying this same thing for almost a year now and have gotten a few snarky comments from various higher ups at bungie. This is of course after they lied to us for a few months to "get better data" and promised a culture change after they got rid of their CEO.

What we got was the same thing we had before with a few more scraps right after the CEO change to make us feel good while the majority of our information has come from Kotaku leaks, all of which have been right so far, and hardly anything from bungie except right when their marketing team gets the ball rolling to make some money.
The SBMM has been an issue for a while and there are players on both sides that want it and dont want it for the wrong reasons. Why I dont want it, and why a lot of the more intelligent (intelligent meaning those that want it removed for the right reasons) members dont want it, is that SBMM isnt a bad thing but the game just cant handle its implementation. It is a bad thing when it is implemented poorly into a system that cant really support it which Destiny and it's bad netcode cannot. There really is no way to spin the fact that destiny doesnt have good connections and has never had good connections. It is just getting amplified for a lot of us and it is going to get worse and worse as the population falls off over this year.
I think at this point every one realizes that we are going to get absolutely nothing this next year just like we got absolutely nothing last year and they are fed up with it. They need to have some sort of culture change at Bungie and realize they have to be more open about things like a lot of other developers are.
We arent being toddlers we are just sick of being ignored and feeling like our concerns have fallen on deaf ears.
Edit: Not trying to say SBMM is a bad thing. It cant be good for the game, it is just implemented poorly right now and it is amplifying connection issues for a lot of players. It needs scaled back a bit so that we can get better connections and the issues are only going to get worse for even those around 1.0k/d as the player base drops

1 ReplyI honestly can't believe more people didn't get angry that all the exotic armor we got from RoI were ones cut from TTK. And the exotic weapons (aside from outbreak and khovastov) we also either cut from TTK, or year 3 versions of weapons we already had. Exotics are the best thing about this game and get a lot of people playing to earn them and the play with them, yet Bungie continues to limit current exotics, and only create a small number of new ones

5 RepliesNot sure if it's a breaking point but with a lot of other great games out and Bungie going dark there's no incentive to play. And you know what? I think they're okay with that. They have already profited millions of dollars from a game that's lasted well past it's prime. I don't mind if they put all their focus and efforts into D2 instead of keeping this old game afloat with minor changes to weapon tuning or even CBMM. I've been a long time supporter of this game but I don't think it has anything more to offer at this time. Which is good news for me because now I can play Tomb Raider, Deus Ex, and Skyrim without FOMO.

Destiny is just stale atm. They should bring back the old raids, allow all weapons and armor to be infusable, and at least have exotic chances be relevant in the old raids. That would probably get people through the rest of the year until D2. Until then, people are obviously going to play other games

Me too...all my stuff are already 400...because I been 400 since 1.5 months ago. I still login sometimes...just to use some fun guns that has firefly or playing ninja punching the minions. I probably play Crota End Raid...because its short and fun...trolling the thralls. Other than that...maybe Hiking or doing something in garage or backyard. Waiting for Y2 Destiny. Hope it will have some new vehicle. Like banshe, Tank...or space ship...! I am Ok for Bungie to focus on Y2 Destiny rather than this Y1. I think its good Idea if next year around January...they just buff all weapons and armor back to original. Like Black Hammer, GH, Suros, IB, PI...and let all guns can be ascend to 400. Let us wreck the PVE for the heck of it...nostalgia...I love this game..!

5 RepliesNow that Battlefield 1, Rise of Tomb Raider (ps4 pro), watch dogs 2, Titanfall 2 is out and Final Fantasy XV is next in 2 weeks. I only have time to come here when I'm at work, but playing Destiny as far as I'm concerned is over for me. I'll see you all in Destiny 2 of course.

If you take the special out of the game the game aint special no more. Lackluster exotics thx to countless nerfs , 3oC! , no great raid guns , no real endgame content. The only way to get to max LL should be the raid , IB ( but also tweaked a bit so that you cant just buy your way to max LL , it should drop 1 random max LL piece of equipment and rest should all come at LL3) and Trails . The raid weapons NEED to stand out and NOT drop like candy. Bring forth the old raids and take the burns off the primaries. Et voila , you will have fireteams meeting on the regular trying to get all the raids done to get to max LL . Highly restrict the opportunities to get exotics , have Xur sell only 1 Exotic per week.

Destiny is my Stockholm Syndrome game. I hate it but I keep coming back because I'm hooked. I don't care for PvP much at all because 1) I enjoy PvE more 2) I don't like being pushed into a meta that just kills off any weapon I want to use (I don't care if I do amazing or not with it, I just wanna have fun with it but I usually end up frustrated with it because it can't hold against the meta) 3) anything fun or decent gets nerfed (also seeps into PvE which it really shouldn't (why aren't they separate yet?!)) I love PvE because running around nova bombing shit is ridiculously fun, along with the other random shit i can get up to. PvE activities aren't fun anymore. I've done the same bounties and quests over and over again and it just isn't fun, its boring beyond all belief and it feels worthless since I know that I wont get any real reward for it. Most rewards are absolutely useless. Oh yay, I got a new armor piece that helps me none at all. Oh joy, some raid armor that only helps in the raid or in very small situations (raid weapons are pretty cool don't get me wrong there). Wow, strike specific loot that kills the overall look I was going for. The microtransactions are pretty much garbage. Spend your money how you want, let others spend their money how they want. But there should be some sort of player favoring in the RNG loot bags. People don't feel encouraged to keep buying if RNG keeps ruining them. Have Tess sell something worth buying. The Gjallarwing was pretty cool and the boosters are a nice way to spend the dust I have accumulating, but there isn't much of any reason to feel compelled to buy things from Tess. How about more cosmetic effects like the halloween things that we could buy? Tess is just a waste of space in the tower. TL/DR: nothing feels compelling to make me want to keep playing. Content is dry and stale, rewards are lackluster, microtransactions aren't worth it. But thanks to that Stockholm Syndrome, I'm eagerly hoping for the best with Destiny 2!

Was going to get it for Christmas with my girlfriend so we could keep playing, but after seeing how short it was, the somehow worse version of Court of Oryx, hearing from numerous sources (included clan mates and others I usually play with) about them cutting back treasures, making skeleton keys near impossible to get, and, once again, making the light system a pain to struggle against made me seriously reconsider even purchasing this expansion. Something that costs 3/4th's what TTK cost should have 3/4th the amount of content that TTK had....not 1/10th.

Microtransactions/Festival of the Cost, a formulaic approach to delivering content, and arrogance of Bungie leadership has caused the magic to seep out of the game. It feels hollow and soulless. The way they respond to us makes me think they just see us as a profit center. We deserve every bit of it if we do nothing about it.

I get games like this or a few players that are like this no matter what game type. And, yes, my connection is good as well are all of my ports open to the right specs on my router.

I hit in back on November 10th, 2015. I got fallout 4 and realized how bad destiny was. Quit playing until August 15th when ROI was hyped af. That's 9 months of no destiny. CSGO and fallout were fun.

1 ReplyAll this is just a giant test run of SBMM for Destiny 2, that's the only explanation. I've had to get pretty gud at resetting my router because everybody I'm playing is NOT LOCAL. The weirdest part is the time of day I am ABLE to play....if I try to play around 3pm-7pm my time all I get is constant "contacting destiny servers" no matter what and will kick me. I've played whole games with that message flashing across the screen...And my network isn't being used as I am home alone mostly during that time so it's not like my bandwidth is being used up... But as soon as I load it up around 8am-10am or 9pm-11pm I have zero issues connecting and all my shots feel so crispy.
