About an hour ago me and some of my friends were playing ToO. Before I tell you our enemies stats I will tell you ours; the team was made of a 1.07, a .9, and another .9. The last three games we went against teams way out of our league. For example in the first match we went against a 1.7, a 2.01, and a 1.88. The second; we went against 2 2.0s and a 1.8. Finally, we went against another 2.0, a 1.2, and a 2.3.
Bungie NEEDS to fix this. We were absolutely destroyed and it ruined the game for us since we were close to getting the weapons(and possible flawless). There needs to be a strong ranking system in-place so that there is a fair match for both parties.
------edit------------
Most of you assume our main goal was to get to the lighthouse and that simply isn't true. Our primary goal(s) were the 5th and 7th wins since with my kd I consider it close to impossible. This post is talking about how the current system of matchmaking (win based) causes an advantage among some groups and a disadvantage among majority
Finally this post isn't just for me to blow off steam, I already knew I would lose the game since they were better.

I see no problem here
-
5 RepliesI don't see why you should be treated special and match made against crappy players like yourself. If you lost than you don't deserve to the lighthouse simple as that.
-
Trials isn't meant to be easy. You'll get paired with teams based on wins not kd. Just keep honing your skills and work on better teamwork and you'll be alright.
-
Get a better team.
-
Not everyone is meant to win

3 RepliesEdited by Swiftlock: 11/7/2016 8:33:42 PMSo you want to diminish the excitement for the average players who actually do sharpen their skills and climb to the top just so you can have an easier time farming wins? That doesn't sound exciting at all. In fact, that just dilutes the purpose of Trials as the true final endgame of PvP players and a means to quench the challenge-seekers. It's SUPPOSED to be highly difficult. Not everyone is going to easily waltz in and rack up tons of wins, and that is 100% okay.

1 ReplyToO doesn't need SBMM.
-
We were on win 2 and got beaten the next game, xxxx has achieved the ultimate victory popped up on our screens, that absoloutley sucked. Gg bungie, great matchmaking
-
yestarday during ToO we played more than 10 matches, 90% of matches we lose against teams which according to destiny tracker has 85-95% chance to WIN, this is BS, just save me the time and just add me another lose, why do I need to waste my time to go into a game that bungo knows with 95% probability I will lose? this is not a game, this is just -blam!-ing madhouse
-
5 RepliesI see a lot of "card based MM" replies. Would any of you care to explain how my card was at 6 wins and 2 losses and the team we matched against "achieved the Ultimate Glory" upon beating us? Card based my ass.
-
Unfortunately man that was luck of the draw based off your card. Only thing I can say is don't get discouraged, keep practicing and you'll get there. You will improve just keep it up.
-
I've gone through cards where we don't face anyone above like a 1.2, and other cards it's non stop stacked teams. The more you play the better chance you have, also pick non peak hours and try to avoid Friday's haha

Edited by Diplomat: 11/7/2016 8:30:32 PMTrials isn't sbmm its card score based so yeah enjoy. I played against Murdaro this weekend, have played against other elite streamers a couple other times too there's not much you can do about it except try your best and then try some more. We lost to Muradaro and his guys but won a few rounds so decent experience.

Nothing to fix because nothing is broken. Not anything you described anyways. Trials is supposed to be end-game for the top PvP players. You are not one of those people and therefore SHOULD struggle. You should have to play and beat good players in order to win in such a game mode.
-
Per some twitter tweet by some dude from Bungie, lighthouse is not meant for the average player. I am average player. This means I just have to get better.
-
1 ReplySometimes you just get unlucky with matchmaking man. There's not much that can be done about that. Just keep trying. you can't expect to do one card & get upset because you ran into a few good teams...it happens sometimes. & there'll also be times you play 7 matches of potatoes. Both happen sometimes... My advice? Don't let it discourage you. Continue playing, continue trying to win. You will never get better if you don't practice. Regardless of you're matched against.

9 RepliesThe higher you get the tougher it gets. If you can't deal with that then don't play. The lighthouse is not meant for scrubs. Destiny has put this out openly and said it is as intended.
-
2 Replies"Absolutely intended" You lost, no lighthouse for you
-
3 RepliesIn the words of Bungie trials of Osiris is for the best of the best. The playlist is open to everyone but, only the best of the best will either win, carry or do account recoveries to get to the lighthouse. If you're doing it for bounties and rewards that's fine but, asking for better matchmaking so you're paired against less skilled players is ridiculous. It's trials you as a person should expect everyone on the other team to have an 2.0+ k/d every match. You should also be ready to fight tooth and nail for each round for victory. It may be a video game but, this playlist is for the elite of the elite if you can't compete then oh well bungie doesn't care. The loot/lighthouse isn't worth pulling your hair out over just play regular crucible so against casuals. I guarantee you'll enjoy yourself more as a player.

2 RepliesJust ddos them like I do
-
Trials isn't meant for below average players
-
Trials isn't meant for ok players it is meant for good players. If you have problem with it don't play or get good. Even high kd teams will face teams with even higher kds and will lose.
-
I admit, it's frustrating to got to 4 wins every week with only 1 loss, and then lose 3 in a row without a 5th win. But that's life!
-
3 RepliesMatch making for trials is not skill based so nothing is broken, the only thing I would like to see implements but not necessary plus be having people who go flawless only matched with those who go flawless. That should also reset every weekend but I really don't see a problem with how it is currently other than ddos attacks. I have not been flawless nor do I intend to I just enjoy playing

Edited by Good_Jason: 11/7/2016 4:00:23 PMI would like to apologize on behalf of the human race for the spoiled end of the gene pool, who should have been put into a tissue and flushed, b-net members who will spout about participation trophies and other nonsense. They lack the education to actually comprehend the words you wrote.
-
7 RepliesOh no :( someone was better at something than you were? Go talk to mommy and see if she can get you a participation emblem/trophie/cookie/w.e
