627,079 Guardians participated in Trials.
Destiny is said to have around 40 million registered users, half or less of which are active players. But even if there are only 10 million active players, that flawless number is very low.
When you factor in that there are three guardians in a fireteam, and they probably did multiple runs per team, that makes the number extremely low. Add to that the number of streamers and carry groups and the number gets even lower.
It's amazing to me that there are that many people who play destiny who haven't gone flawless.
*Some people ask for a 'flawless only Trials lobby' so they don't have to fight flawless teams. With these number as low as they are, I'm pretty sure that 85% of the teams we fight are all flawless teams, meaning we are already fighting ourselves.

It's the same fireteams so divide that by 3 (number of character per account ) and that is the actual number of flawless per character

24 RepliesYou have a misconception that Trials is for "everyone" and that everyone is entitled to go to the Lighthouse; when in fact Trials is intended to be end game content for PVP enthusiasts. It's not a game mode that's catered towards casuals, nor PVE players who rarely if ever participate in the Crucible aside from the occasional Iron Banner match. At this point they practically throw all of the lighthouse weapons at you just for participating, and you can also get weapons that are just as good if not better without having to play a single game of PVP. The thrill of going flawless isn't about getting one shitty extra weapon per week. It's about the prestige of knowing your team brought their A game and came out on top through 7-9 matches against any and every type of team. That's the reward that people who have spent their time actually practicing and improving themselves in the crucible. Players who haven't put in the time to get to that level don't necessarily deserve that achievement.

21 RepliesIt feels great to be able to bring virgins through. Trials is definitely hard. Let me know if you guys need help. I've gotten 19 people through since starting at the end of august. My goal is 50 by next year.

9 RepliesTrials is not worth the headache. I went flawless multiple time in year 1. Not worth it now

Trials will kill itself. At that point, Bungie will make changes.
But only because streamers will be crying that there is no one left to carry.
1 ReplyI only run trials for the seven wins now. Going flawless isnt based on skill anymore, its bases on who you get paired up with. You either get paired super sweaty people that dont leave their house, casuals that only go for seven wins, or people that suck, and its mostly the sweaty people that you get paired with(especially when you are 8-0). I have been 8-1 3 times and i can tell you that it is super frustrating to have that happen 3 times and to have it all happen for the same reason... getting paired with super sweaty people that use stupid op weapon builds.

I live and breathe trials. I tend to go flawless every week, despite everything not being balanced and the matchmaking problems. I can easily see why people tend to avoid it, can't blame them either. Being more of a CoD player myself, trials keeps me going.

"627,079 Guardians participated in Trials." "When you factor in that there are three guardians in a fireteam, and they probably did multiple runs per team, that makes the number extremely low. Add to that the number of streamers and carry groups and the number gets even lower." Considering that an account has the potential to have 3 Guardians the number looks to be scary low on top of all the other factors you mentioned. "It's amazing to me that there are that many people who play destiny who haven't gone flawless." I think it surprises you but it doesn't surprise me. Trials of Osiris is perceived to be too difficult to bother trying by the vast majority of the Destiny community. As a result we are seeing low levels of participation which leads to an even lower number of players going flawless.

4 Repliesday 1 player with 2600 hours playtime. probably 3 of which are trials. a lot of people have no interest in it. i went flawless last year but i have no urge to do it again. if 137k teams went flawless out of 600k guardians thats well over half the teams playing went flawless. seems high...

if there was matchmaking for trials id give it a try , there isn't matchmaking so I wont bother

I'm an active destiny player but I hardly ever play trials. Since it's addition to the game i think I've played trials maybe twice with randoms. I'm more of a solo player that finds groups when needed. I guess I'm just not motivated enough to find people to make a decent team and practice. I'm also not interested in being carried. So I guess I'm just apathetic about the whole thing.

7 RepliesSame here, im from europe 50% of matches are made with USA. In fps game especialy when shotgun - close combat is in meta. You have no chance. Actually meta is something that suck. Bungie let 343 make pvp.
-
When you realize that about 4/6 of the people that participated this week went to the lighthouse.
-
3 Replies10 million users and I still get matched up against people from Greenland and Argentina (I live in Italy).

Skrubs. Just backboost lelelelel

7 RepliesToO is played by the minority. Filthy casuals, like myself, play everything but ToO because we like to have fun when wasting what little precious time we have. This is why Bungie should not cater to hardcore players and ToO cry babies. They are a minority. Without casuals, there wouldn't be a video game industry.

3 RepliesNever been flawless and i given up, its gettn annoyig when all i see is mida and a sniper still or mida and a shotgun

Edited by evomichel: 10/27/2016 9:56:41 AMI dont even play trials anymore. This weekend i will do a 0-3 suicide runs to get my book done and move on from destiny. Would love to play trials, but my friends stop playng when TTK was released, and never got back. And i dont see me getting flawless with randoms. It was pretty fun on year one though, all thoose etheric lights and elementals primary weapons.
-
I would compete more often if I could get to The Lighthouse :(

8 RepliesEdited by Raider TCK: 10/26/2016 11:23:39 PMMost people won't go flawless. That's why they call it going flawless. It's really the only pvp activity that doesn't hand out participation medals. Some people will never go flawless. And that's fine. Some people will never beat the raid. That's fine too.

Anyone else who's low light and crap at trials wanna try for the Halloween emblem at some point? Depending on the drop circumstances.
