627,079 Guardians participated in Trials.
Destiny is said to have around 40 million registered users, half or less of which are active players. But even if there are only 10 million active players, that flawless number is very low.
When you factor in that there are three guardians in a fireteam, and they probably did multiple runs per team, that makes the number extremely low. Add to that the number of streamers and carry groups and the number gets even lower.
It's amazing to me that there are that many people who play destiny who haven't gone flawless.
*Some people ask for a 'flawless only Trials lobby' so they don't have to fight flawless teams. With these number as low as they are, I'm pretty sure that 85% of the teams we fight are all flawless teams, meaning we are already fighting ourselves.

8 RepliesPaid carries all day bby 💲

6 RepliesIf streamer carries stopped, that number would drop by 30-40%.

2 RepliesEdited by PrimaryNotFound: 10/27/2016 9:21:06 PMThe 136,718 is flawless runs, not teams. Each player can account for 3 runs if they go flawless and visit the lighthouse on each character. Your account is only counted a maximum of 3 times. So worst case scenario is ~44K unique players went flawless. The good players go flawless on all characters, the ones that struggle do not. Carries do not inflate this number as only the person that is being carried counts toward the total. Also keep in mind that the participants total is guardians not unique players.

25 RepliesEdited by Ne0nK0ala: 10/27/2016 8:50:06 PMThe funny thing is that you tagged this with competitive yet you are talking about being against competitive. Now you should really think before you type. But because you didn't I'll do it for you. In order to get flawless you need to go 9-0. You get 1 free loss, and one free win. If you win your first game you get another free win. So under perfect conditions you need to knock of at least 7 teams. 7 x 137,718 is 964,026. So in actuality that's pretty good numbers. Some people just can't go flawless, that's the nature of the mode, if everyone did, or even the majority did, no one would.

3 RepliesNot everyone is supposed to go, that is the whole point

6 RepliesMore would have went flawless had xbox not gone down.

lol 40 million its about 30 million registered most of whom have stopped playing after the first few months of the games release back in 2014 this game has nowhere near as many active players as activision would like you to believe

4 RepliesOf course so few made it when we have to go up against no life nerd sweatbeards who play non-stop.

1 ReplyEdited by zJDz: 10/27/2016 7:40:38 PMYou should look over the last couple weeks. Starting from first week of trials in ROI. Week 1 - Last exit 826,638 guardians participated 3,718,504 matches 220,723 flawless runs No weapon stats available Week 2 - floating gardens 692,156 guardians 2,643,965 matches 159,403 flawless Special kills: 65% shotguns, 26% sniper Week 3 - twilight gap (crappy map) 690,550 guardians 2,785,588 matches 168,682 flawless Special kills: 66.6 shotgun, 23% sniper Week 4 - burning shrine 627,079 guardians 2,391,359 matches 137,718 flawless Special kills 53% shotgun, 38% sniper Going flawless is all about teamwork. I have been playing trials with the same guy for a year now and we usually get someone off our friends list or off LFG and do 1-3 cards. So each week I have 1-3 tries of going flawless and I usually go flawless 1-3 times. My kd is 1.25 average. I have been flawless 53 times now. The best matches I have had was when we coordinated as a team and all shot an enemy from slightly different angles with our primaries. We run into those 1700+ Elo teams with 2.0+ kds and sometimes we beat them and sometimes we don't.

Edited by Sophon: 10/27/2016 8:42:41 PMIf there were 627000 participants and 137000 of them went flawless then the way I see it that's 22% of people going flawless and yes some people carry on playing, I did but honestly you don't buy another card with boons on after you've already done a card, I just helped others out so none of my other runs were flawless. We can't say how many active players there are and if they're interested in Trials or not or if they're just PVE or they really don't like it enough to play every weekend. You can't just say there's 10 million active players and only 137,000 went flawless this weekend, I mean you said it yourself only 627000 took part. We can say that 22% of the people who tried to go flawless, went flawless. That sounds reasonable to me, if you're below average then you won't get it and that's how it should be. Leave this amazing playlist alone, like the rest of us do with things we don't enjoy.

So roughly 1 in 5 teams went flawless. Seems simple enough...

6 RepliesI believe you mean guardians in the title first, and 2nd if that number counts repeats you figure 10% come from streamers and their carries leaving 120,000 then factor in repeats as 3x per character on those who did play trials minus the carried population you get 40,000 guardians went flawless, but I say his number is a little high in terms of total population so let's say 5 million people are active. If out of that 3/4 of the population is active only in pve meaning 1.25 million players actively play PvP/trials. That means only 1/2 of the total PvP players even bothered to que into trials which should tell bungie that ToO is broken. So take the 140,000ish runs of flawless out of 630,000 participants and you have the chances of going flawless as 22.22%. Buuuuuuuut if you factor in repeat players as 1/2 of the total players playing 3 times that means really on 400000 players played. And 40000 players went flawless. Rather strange that exactly 10% of total players went flawless. Exactly 10%.
-
It would actually be good if Bungie would provide the exact stats, i.e. how many individual players, how many different fireteams, what gear was used etc. That is called transparency. I play Destiny a lot, and I enjoy most of the content, but trials is one thing that merely frustrates me.

5 RepliesTrials is alot of fun and I got flawless every weekend. That being said this past weekend was insanely sweaty. Ran into so many streamer teams and God squads within the first 5 games. Helped me understand what alot of people on here are saying now about certain people that carry and wreck teams all weekend.
-
Because the meta is boring and the carriers/cheaters ruin the sense of competition.

3 RepliesIf one week my team does not run into a Sherpa we would go flawless. It's always that one godly person that plays this game non-stop that stops us from going 9-0
-
2 RepliesFought against high level players all last weekend. 2.0 k/d 2000elo MONSTERS. I'm decent but the matches looked like I was stand in still.

3 RepliesEdited by jose99remix: 10/27/2016 7:51:22 PMI just want to go flawless for the grimoire, but usually lose when I have 8 wins. Other thing is that most of my friends quit destiny and I can't find anyone in the forums willing to at least add me......Ps4

3 RepliesWasn't among the "elite" past weekend. Damn map sucked so hard!
-
I was going to go Flawless again, but my usual team ended up going without me :\ then decided to not log in all weekend.
-
6 RepliesI can only 1v3 for so long, flawless may never come
-
I got Vigilant Disciple this weekend.
-
As much as I have tried I just can't manage to go flawless in trials. My teams are always kind of odd when it comes to communication. Must be nice having two others that you can do trails with every weekend.

27 RepliesWent flawless this weekend multiple times with multiple people. Helped a friend who's never gone, his reaction was priceless. In all honesty tho, it's not hard. I've stopped worrying about the next match and the enemies loadout because I know I'm going to go flawless. Stopped worrying about losing mercy, because I know I'm going flawless regardless. Trials is about teamwork. Individual skill helps, but coordination is ESSENTIAL. Get in there, git gud, go flawless. Cake.
