627,079 Guardians participated in Trials.
Destiny is said to have around 40 million registered users, half or less of which are active players. But even if there are only 10 million active players, that flawless number is very low.
When you factor in that there are three guardians in a fireteam, and they probably did multiple runs per team, that makes the number extremely low. Add to that the number of streamers and carry groups and the number gets even lower.
It's amazing to me that there are that many people who play destiny who haven't gone flawless.
*Some people ask for a 'flawless only Trials lobby' so they don't have to fight flawless teams. With these number as low as they are, I'm pretty sure that 85% of the teams we fight are all flawless teams, meaning we are already fighting ourselves.

The problem is there is no reason to play if your not great at pvp. Not saying that it should be made easier to get there it's just the mentality people have. It appear as though instead of people grouping up with friends to get better they relay on carries. Also year 2 you had bounties that have u a chance at the trials weapons and armor now it seems to give only year 2 stuff vice year 3 so why bother.

2 RepliesEdited by TeppicymonXXVIII: 10/29/2016 9:00:00 AMYour numbers are very interesting. But I don't exactly get your point. Trials are the endgame elite PvP activity, it's designed so that only the best of the best of the best (reference intended) can reach the lighthouse. In that way it's working properly, or maybe is it even a bit too easy, isn't it?
-
1 ReplyIf your numbers are correct then only 6% of active players even bother with ToO and only 1% go to the lighthouse each week. If ToO truly is working as intended; then bravo to Bungie for flawlessly implementing a game mode so discouraging that 96% of active players do not play it. Only 1% of players get to see the lighthouse without YouTube or paying someone to take them there.

I've went flawless one time and it was when floating garbage was the map. Since then I've had multiple 8-1 cards and some cards we barely get 5. It seems to be luck of the draw with who you get matched against.
-
2 RepliesMy team lost 3 games last week total and won 53? Maybe more I'm not sure the exact number. 1 loss was due to disconnect, and the other 2 I don't even remember. We literally fight each other for kills rather than the other team most of the time...

8 RepliesTrials card Idea 9 or 10-12 Wins ( Maybe more) to go to the Lighthouse. Everytime you Win a Game it counts a Point on your Card. But everytime you loose a Game , it removes 2 Points From The Card. If you Hitting 9 ....... you can get to the Lighthouse. If you Hit 0...... you can get back to the Reef. You can play the card as long as you hit either 0 or 9. If you are able to get a a Full card. You get Normal Lighthouse loot. If you do the card Flawless, you getting some Special things like a Emblem or Ornaments or else. Matchmaking is still based on Wins on the card.
-
12 RepliesHah i dont understand trials is way to easy i literally pick 2 randoms from the reef and carry em if i have to help em out and we always get done first try one guy even screamed when we went flawless
-
You can't just call anyone who is good a carry group or a streamer.
-
The problem with your argument is that maybe the reason ao few players are participating is because they are sick of fighting against streamers and flawless teams? I am not saying Trials shouldn't be hard. Just that your argument isn't exactly sounds.
-
10 RepliesWell let's see how many times I went flawless in year one - every week Let's see how many times I went flawless in year two - three times Let's see how many times I went flawless in year three - none Now year one I went flawless all the time because it was fun and the challenges were ONLY AT THE END OF THE CARD, whereas in both year two and year three the sweatiest of sweaties come in only the first couple of matches and go flawless off of those wins. Now I see an actual problem here. I don't know about you guys but I do so yeah :\

Flawless numbers are usually around 20% of the Trials participants, and not everybody plays trials, let alone pvp in general.
-
Flawless isn't hard, just pop boons and try a few times
-
I've never been flawless sadly I'm 400 light I could blind fold Akis but when it comes to trials in decent not perfect so flawless seems to elude me
-
5 RepliesOoh look! A wild elitist in his natural habitat, the destiny subforum. Sometimes it may seem like an elitist but always remember the 3 characteristics, flawless profile pic, k.d. just high enough to brag, and over a month of playtime.
-
Just means I am going to have to try harder.
-
25 RepliesEh, went flawless a few times when trials first started. Not interested anymore, turned half the people on my friends list into elitist douchebags obsessed with the idea of shitting on other people constantly running it with little or no reward simply to shit on other players. Maybe someday trials won't be cancer, but that day is not today.

5 RepliesEdited by OldboyVicious: 10/28/2016 3:52:42 AMIf approximately 137000 teams went flawless, and approximately 627000 participated, that means the 137000(teams)x3(players per team)=411000 guardians out of 627000 went flawless. That's using estimates, but about 2/3 of people who played it went to the lighthouse. With odds like that, it seems like its not as hard as everyone is saying it is. Of course, I'm not good enough to get there, so I'm not saying its easy. Also, I can't account for how many people went 3 times, once on each character, and other outliers such as how many people kept trying and losing, until finally going flawless, etc. But if your numbers are correct, OP, then you are basically saying "only" 2/3 of players who played trials went flawless.
-
2 RepliesHow about this for an idea: you get your Trials card as usual. If you get 9 wins and 0 losses, you go to the Lighthouse and get your (Adept) weapons and ornaments and stuff. However, if you exceed 3 losses, you no longer can get (Adept) weapons or ornaments, but if you get 9 wins you can go to the Lighthouse and claim basic rewards like you would get from gold tier bounties. I think everyone should be able to at least see the Lighthouse first hand before Destiny 1 is over.
-
33 RepliesWell Derek said it's not meant for the average joes/joseinas I mean he fully supports red barring losers, ddosing spammers, and streamers that charge for carries 🙃
-
I went flawless so I don't care lol :) just the map was just so bad the sun was a nightmare :(
-
18 RepliesMy point exactly.... they need to change Trials. Catering to the Trials cesspool does not help the game. Cheating, ddos, lag switching, connection manipulation, paid carries.... it needs to end. Make Trials 9 wins, unlimited losses, lighthouse. It would end the carries and substantially reduce the incentive to cheat. More would play and have fun. Bungie... it is time to flush the Trials toilet.

2 RepliesHere's what I've been saying the entire time (mostly because I'm garbage at PvP): 1. Trials ensues as normal. 9-0 gets you to the lighthouse. Loot is received as normal. 2. Terrible players like me who can't get past 6/7 wins with real friends, not friends with benefits, can grab a bounty that asks for something painfully tough to accomplish. Something like 100 rounds won, 500 kills as a fireteam, or something more specific like 25 kills with each weapon type. Then we get to go the lighthouse too. We'll have earned it. I'm not saying make it easy. I don't want to be given the gear and the lighthouse visit. Give us average players a challenging bounty we can waste our whole weekends trying to accomplish. Hell, maybe we'll git gud along the way and actually go flawless.

That shyt is boring now

4 RepliesEdited by MuffsFatMan: 10/27/2016 8:26:47 PMIs that 600k the amount of individual guardians or can you assume each player plays on 3 chars so it's only 300k? If it's 600k individual players then you saying 390k guardians reached the lighthouse that's over half. If on the other hand it's 600k players that's 1.8 mil guardians which make it a 17%? of the player went flawless. Also are these without carries and people doing multiple runs. We need way more info on what the stats are before you can get some real info out of this. Rough procentage calculating 😉

Ppl that ask for flawless only playlist will get an easy card go flawless then end up in the flawless list and right back to a hard card lol..
