I didn't think it could be done. I really didn't. But in my mind, Wrath of the Machine has surpassed the Vault of Glass to become the best raid (at least when comparing normal modes).
Both Vault and Wrath:
• Don't place all the pressure on one person like Crota's End
• Don't place the pressure on everyone to perform at all times like King's Fall
• Require large amounts of movement unlike King's Fall
• Have interesting fights
• Have good loot drops
• Making a mistake doesn't doom the team
• Turning the raid inside out looking for secrets
What Wrath does that Vault doesn't:
• Requires a good amount of communication
• Less able to be cheesed
• Less glitchy
• Better secrets
• All subclasses are viable for strategies for at least one part
• More exotics viable in the raid
• All major sections give loot
• Amazing soundtrack
• Raid exotic isn't a random drop
• Raid armor really helps complete raid
• Better loot system
Note: Wrath's shortness both helps and hurts it. By being so short, it opens it up to a bigger population and helps make being sherpa easier (thank god), but some also feel that that takes away from the experience.
What Vault does that Wrath doesn't:
• Able to help a raid team in patrol
• Created a sense of discovery every time I run through it (at least for me)
• More interesting Relic
• Fatebringer
• Nostalgia
It might still be the honeymoon phase, but I think that Wrath of the Machine is an A+ example of a raid. Bungie figured out how to capture the feel of the Vault again, and that makes me incredibly hopeful for future raids.

VoG and WoTM are awesome and very enjoyable. One or two bad players will still allow you to complete it. King's fall was very good but is fairly harder to do. It's good that this raid exists to put raiding in general in a certain perspective. Crota's End is not much of a raid but a lot of fun to mess around with and an easy way to get that flawless raider achievement.

I loved my vault of glass but I do like wrath more now. It may be kinda short but it's good for now. I hope they keep going in that route.

Edited by THE SARGE 01: 10/14/2016 9:44:17 PMYou should check your Poll results again 😆 So, how many Vault of Glass Completions do you have under your belt? Weird, Grimmorw must be jacked up because it says you have 0 completions....-blam!-ing Bungie

Edited by alldaz484: 10/14/2016 9:43:44 PMVOG is my fave but I do like the constant usage of team and need for being Vocal, WOTM is Good
-
I think wotm and vog are a tie in greatness.
-
VoG was incredible, I didn't even know console games were capable of such things until I saw VoG. It was amazing
-
17 RepliesWe'll see with hard mode. If it has permanent death it'll drop in popularity. But bungie is -blam!-ing retarded so that's probably the case
-
Vog was great but we shouldn't do any polls until hard mode and challenges come out.
-
My raid/PvE endgame content lost goes like this: VoG WoTM CE PoE KF
-
I'd place it at a close second to VoG.
-
Vault Of Glass was only fun for the first month it was out, after that the 10th time completing it I realized how bland it was. Vault of Glass was just another victim of the monstrosity we call year one.
-
Absolute best thing about VoG was its sheer size. You could get lost exploring that place for days. The same is not true of any of the other raids. Next, it was doable without raid weapons but substantially easier with raid weapons but by no means a piece of cake.

My list of raids by fun/entertainment factor: -VoG -WotM -KF -CE *lengthy spoiler*
VoG will probably be my favorite ,rose tinted glasses or not, even with the meh RNG loot system in place (never got a VoC/corrective measure). WotM is new, so it's refreshing. I really like the first half with Vosik and throwing the charges and clean rooms and whatnot. Death Zamboni is cool but "horee sheet" they pushed everything to the limit there it seems to me. Amounts of loot from the exotic chests are superb. Aksis phase 1 & 2 I could care less for (my opinion *gasp*) KF I like where groups have to work together, essentially like cogs in a clock. The loot was meh (only meeting my expectations). Lag- horrendous, especially when it came to oryx and the blight ogres. CE was the least raid-like (by my definition and the community's) but nonetheless, I like it from how it's structured to the loot. I still love running the abyss every now and then. I also still love the Hunter & Warlock armor (Isaac Clarke with a cape or Deathsinger) My half-assed opinion but whatever, I'll toss it out there for lurker enjoyment
-
I enjoy wotm, but it's hard to beat the feeling I had going through VoG for the first time back in the day.
-
Nothing will ever live up to the VoG. Mostly because the guns suck compared to the first years weapons. Fatebringer was and still is my favorite gun in destiny. Vision of confluence was spectacular, great speed in shots can be fired full auto and solar burn! Then there's the top dog, the vex mythoclast! This gun is everything a raid exotic should have been, now we're left with the prime that has a cool down on the siva and is just all around not as neat or satisfying as the vex. Nothing on this new raid even feels like it is on par with random legendary drops you get from anything else. Very upsetting to say the least!

6 RepliesHold up. Did you just say that VoG doesn't require communication? WHO THE -blam!- DO YOU THINK YOU ARE
-
7 RepliesVault of Glass took the first Team 14Hours to beat it. Wrath of the Machine took the first Team 2Hours to beat it. I'm going to sit on that and ponder for a moment, but I still think VOG is the Gold Standard As well I seriously hate the use of Siva Keys too. I put down a Boss I want a reward

4 RepliesEdited by CynicalSapper: 10/14/2016 8:23:07 PMWOTM loot drops are retarded. Raided last night and got 2 shotguns, 1 chaos dogma, 1 ghost and a rocket launcher. I've gotten the same loot over and over again.
it's the easiest raid yet
-
So what I'm hearing is.. easy..?
-
2 RepliesI'm the 2% that voted crota
-
Vog is still the best raid they've done.. I do enjoy the new one tho..
-
2 RepliesI really miss vision of confluence
-
2 RepliesMy rating 1: Vog sense of aura and mystery 2: Machine really just...fun. 3: Kings fall too many bosses but the scope and art were amazing 4: Crota Too small, the parts there are I always enjoy, but by the time you're interested you're already at the boss

1) VOG 2) Tie between Wrath of the Machine and Kings Fall 3) Crota

20 RepliesI know I'm in the minority here, but personally, I think that King's Fall was the best of the expansion raids. It was epic in scope and had so many unique elements. It was challenging and required teamwork. I think it's highly underrated. I think it gets a bad rap for the amount of precision it takes, but to me, it was a lot of fun and would really get my adrenaline pumping more than any of the other raids. Every KF completion gave me such a feeling of accomplishment. Don't think I had that with any other raids. Here's some thoughts on some of your points: • Don't place all the pressure on one person - Neither did KF, except for the runner and gaze holder, but that was pretty minor compared to CE sword bearer or VoG relic holder. • Don't place the pressure on everyone to perform at all times like King's Fall - I disagree. You could lose 1-3 of people on Warpriest, Golgoroth, and maybe 1 on Sisters and Oryx and still be able to finish. On WotM, if you lose just 1 person on Aksis, it's very difficult to complete. • Require large amounts of movement unlike King's Fall - Disagree. KF requires a lot of movement. The opening encounter, Totems. Warpriest you have to kill adds, run to a plate, then run to the designated DPS position. Golgoroth you have to take a side, kill adds, run to get ammo, then go to the cave. Sisters and Oryx you have to run to a plate, then back to the middle, plus Oryx has the shade as a bonus activity. KF is constant motion and varied activity. I guess what you're complaining about is your perception that you're standing on a plate at all times, but really, you're only on a plate for a few seconds at a time. • Have interesting fights - KF has way more interesting boss fights and they are all different. RoI has 4 boss encounters(2 bosses 2 times) and they all basically come down to the same mechanic. Throwing bombs at the boss. • Have good loot drops - So far, I wouldn't say that RoI has better loot drops than any other raid. • Making a mistake doesn't doom the team - Highly disagree. I've seen many instances in WotM where making a mistake is highly costly. Falling in a whole on SM, missing a bomb, dying anywhere on Aksis. • Turning the raid inside out looking for secrets - I agree. They did do a good job on secrets in WotM. Other raids had secrets too, so this isn't something exclusive to WotM, though. • Requires a good amount of communication - About on par with KF • Less able to be cheesed - I guess you missed the video where you could completely skip SM. • Less glitchy - I've had issues on SM where the parts could not be picked up and people were firing at SM, but it wasn't taking any damage. • All major sections give loot - I may be forgetting something, but don't all of the raids give loot at the major encounters? • Raid exotic isn't a random drop - Neither is KF In short, I don't want to really bash WotM. It's a good raid, just not great. If I was going to rank WotM, it would only be 3 or 4 on my list. I think that you're just looking at it with rose colored glasses since it's new.

Wrath was fun, but a bit short for a raid, only 3 encounters. But doesnt mean the story had a lot of fun things to do, and we havent even duscovered the part right before dropping into the perfection chamber
