Destiny 2..Bungie are us Vets going to be royally screwed after 3yrs of effort and time?
we wasted hours days months years on this game in the end was all of it for naught?
$100's of dollars were spent on Destiny 1 and it's expansions...
I'm asking the community are you okay with saying goodbye to Your Guardian Your Hunter, Warlock, & Titan?
Bungie will there be anything at the end waiting for us Veteran players who went thru Destiny 1's Journey?
And No I'm not talking about some useless ship, shader, sparrow, or emblem because honestly that just amounts to a slap in the face. Will we be given the option to port progress, or is it outright reboot?
IF this is the case will there be compensation or anything being brought in from Destiny 1 showing all that time and effort wasn't for nothing? Cozmo / DeeJ do You know?
What's the communities' take on any of this? curious (keep if civil ty)

I just want to change the way he looks!

Don't care about gear but character and grimoire would be nice.

From a year 1 vet. Take it, take all my gear. I want to start fresh on a new game. Doesn't bother me in the slightest.

5 RepliesEdited by TheNietzschean: 9/28/2016 7:39:50 AMYeah. Not cool with the idea of just restarting from scratch. Kinda sad to think that all this time amounts to nothing in the end. Would be nice if we had a choice for one character to carry over. Hearing the news that nothing will carry over in this 10 year plan sorta feels like we've been doing a secret beta test all along. Im looking at you GTA V. To sum it up, if at least one character can't carry over, well, it's been real but I'm out. Me and my warlock have seen some struggles, overcome some shite and enjoyed the company of fellow guardian s for it to go bye bye like that. Hope it doesn't but if the suits walked in at bungies headquarters and demanded a complete restart, well... very unfortunate.

1 ReplyI mean you did accept their EULA...
-
1) we are getting screwed if they don't carry our guardians over? Hahahahaha lol, not even slightly 2) would I be ok with it? Of course because I'm an adult who realizes that things can change over time and I understand this is just a video game and overall has no real bearing on life in the end

I'm very fine with losing my old character for some new content. I had a load of fun on my old characters, with all kinds of good times from day 1, and if I can do it all again but with different subclasses and whole new weapon types then hell yes. A shader/ship/Emblem more than does it to show my fun experience.

It's a new game so why should we be able to keep our stuff? And "3 years of time and effort"? It's just a game, and while I have played it a lot it's not like we did anything special. Should BF4 players get better stuff in BF One?
-
I'm fine with it, the game was a shooter in the guise of something else the entire time. Apparently it was a good fake if they managed to get a misunderstanding of that out of people. Don't get me wrong I'd like progression to be retained but it isn't necessary. It would only be novelty like it is every time a new expansion comes out. Also I've read they might make things from D1 available later, but it's all rumor so I don't care to talk about it. Personally, having destiny be more what it was advertised as is all I want. Also if it's on PC, with all the bells and whistles that should entail, would be great too. Even better have cross platform play in at least PvE.

Shut up.

It's just a video game. How many other games have you had to restart characters in the sequel? I bet almost all. If you don't like it, dont buy it. You shouldnt be "rewarded" because you chose to spend money and then devote hours upon hours of your real world time to a video game. And if that is what you're looking for, may I suggest CS:GO? They have actual real world cash prizes for winning tournaments with a team.

The only thing I'll ask to keep in order to remember all the accomplished tasks we did is our emblems and shaders. That way we can at least have something to equip and remember that we did that.
-
If I have to start over for Destiny 2 to be on PC, I'l be happy.
-
It's not a waste. We got to experience the first game. The bad, the good, the fun parts, the annoying parts. Just because our progress isn't carrying over (if it's even true) doesn't mean all of the time we spent playing this game ceases to exist.
-
5 RepliesWe got to play the damn game. It's like everyone thinks this game is a job or something, that there's always a reward at the end for all your hard work. You know what our reward was? We got to become legend! There are millions of people who will never have played destiny 1 and will inevitably start on destiny 2. Those people will most likely never storm the Vault of Glass, never slay the demigod Crota, never stop the uprising of Skolas, never end the Taken King in his own Throne World and never stop the SIVA outbreak at its source. We were there. We got our fireteams together, made friends, nay Brothers in our fight. And I don't know about you, but those weren't wasted hours for me. Those hours of helping my Taken Tot friends explore the worlds for their first time. Two manning Crota with them and explaining the lore of the Hive. Because I WAS THERE. I was there when we pushed Atheon off the ledge, unplugged our ethernets for Crota, and burned Skolas in 30 seconds with the Gjallarhorn. So don't come on here complaining about how you wasted hundreds of hours in this game. You were part of THIS. This wonderful community full of helpful guardians who sometimes dedicate all of their time to helping young and inexperienced players. Sure, there's always going to be salt, and conspiracy theories and unsatisfied customers. But for those of us who stuck around.... We were there. We became legend. And if Destiny 2 gets rid of my loot and gives me naught but an emblem, I will wear that emblem with pride and tell stories to the young and inexperienced guardians about the good ole days. Because it's not about the reward. It's about the journey. It's about making your own....
Destiny.
Edited by TitanKnight: 9/29/2016 2:17:12 AMI prefer they wipe it all out. We had our blast with our current stuff, time to get new ones and go from there once more into the breach. To hell with effort and time, I rather experience the whole first time feeling all over again, than just continue the same shit we've been doing with the same shit we've had all this time.

As long as I can remake my exo watlock with a purple unicorn horn, were all good.
-
Honestly I don't care. So long as the game is good.
-
I don't mind if we can keep our exotic weapons.

If Bungie start fresh with Destiny 2 and still provide short missions and less contents just like Destiny 1 then Bungie is sad company. If we start new everything and characters then it's ok as long there is more PVE content and story line with our questions will be answer. No more re-skin content in Destiny 2 and no small DLC add ins selling at $30- $50 dollars. If Destiny 2 have more newer solar system to explore and planets then cool.
-
Yep I'm okay with it. Imagine playing Metroid or Zelda and having every weapon in the game right at the beginning. That's what takes all the in out of the game. Look right now, how many people are using the new guns except for Ghorn? Not many.
-
I think people are jumping to conclusions and assuming things are going to happen. Sit tight. Enjoy the game your playing currently. Your money spent has been already worth it from the amount of time put into the game. We'll see what the news is in a few months.

You have made yourself look stupid with this post.

Lol @ "vets"
