Are we still mad about elemental primaries?
Just came back to the game after a nice healthy break and wondered if the lack of elemental primaries is still a thing?
Then I had an idea - we have chromas, and now weapon ornaments; why not have a "Golden Age <insert element> weapon element" which could be used, much like an ornament, to activate an element on an exotic weapon. You could also change it if you had another weapon element.
Imagine a Hard Light with arc, like it should actually be.
Or a void Gjallarhorn
You get the idea.
I reckon this is probably too late in the lifespan of the game now but would have been a welcome addition, seeing as a lot of the exotic weapons are more or less bookends.
EDIT - I didn't, and don't want this thread to be seen as one of the weekly "give me my elemental primaries back" threads. I wanted to suggest something that would let us have them back, whilst giving us variety. Some suggestions are better than others, this one maybe not so much lol...

I like the new raid. I do. And I'll do it about 15-30 more times. I did VOG and CE 60+ times. For one reason. To get every elemental primary. I just don't feel the need to get any of the loot now. It's simply just to increase light. Was and still is a big mistake.

5 RepliesIn year 1 I actually changed up my arsenal for burns. Now I just use the same primary for everything because there's no reason in changing it since it doesn't have any elements. Honestly Bungie did the exact opposite of what they wanted to do by ditching elemental primaries.

4 RepliesI think having three exotics would work. The exoticness of each weapon is its elemental damage, but with a little extra. Like zhalo has chain damage and bonus super with double kills. Give each elemental exotic a little bit more to make it feel unique along with incorporating it into each weapons respective element

If the ease the burns created was the issue they could have made enemies more difficult. It would have added the challenge they sought and kept players happy Edit 1: for variety? Fair point made but easy fix that doesn't take something away that players like. Add more burns to guns or elemental cored so we could. Again if the fear of this making things to easy do what they did (enemies do 3x burn damage we do 2x) and they could have heightened any shielded enemies damage resistance

They did it best with zhalo super cell. Put elemental damage on a primary when it's flavorful.

I'm ever mad about my hard earned raid and POE weapons being left behind. The elemental aspect was a great bonus too. Now we only have Zhalo which I'm getting tired of this week for strikes.

why should I be mad that the developers put something completely awesome in the game and gave me something to strive for that worked completely as intended but then took away for ever destroying my reason to enter a raid. im not mad. no need to be mad at dingleberries. 9 RepliesHaving them would make no difference, they want variety. I can see why but if we are happy using the same guns all year long then let us. It should only matter if the community is happy, we were all happy when they were still a thing

Actually this could be a really good idea. It fits well with the ornaments (they need to add more) and the chromas (which should be more diverse). Anyway unlike the ornaments or chromas it should be permanent to the gun and very rare

I actually really like this idea. It's creative, fits with Bungie's desire to give players more control of their gear, and brings back something the community really wants. Awesome job man!

I despise using Zhalo...... But It's an arc primary and it melts in arc burn.

1 ReplyWe currently only have 1 elemental primary now, an exotic Arc. Would be nice to even it out with two other exotic primaries with elements.

I'm kind of torn. I miss having the elements on them, but at the same time all the "must have zhalo for arc burn strike" posts are really annoying. I've been taking about elemental ornaments for a while now. But I can't decide if it's a good idea or not.
