Witcher 3 DLC Question
The Caretaker is kicking the living you know what out of me. Any suggestions? Thanks.

4 RepliesI killed him on Death march NG+, he will summon minions like 3 or 4 at a time. You must kill these fast because his weapon gives him HP every time he hits something even you. Strike him 3-4 times maximum. Study his patterns, strike as soon as he is done trying to hit you because there will be a small window of opportunity every time. Dodge roll everything he tries to hit you with and you should be fine. DO NOT get hit or try to be cocky because 1 hit on you can restore almost 1/5 his life basically

Kill those phantoms he kills for health before he can get to them. His attacks are also pretty obvious beforehand. When you see a big blue light pattern, get outta the way

He has really obvious attack patterns. Learn them.

[spoiler]dont get hit.[/spoiler] Apart from that, don't get greedy. Settle for one or two swipes between his attacks if you must, and be sure to only strike him when he's resting. Staying at a good distance then rolling/dodging in worked for me on death march (hardest difficulty), though it took awhile. On top, he's a relict (I think, game/wiki isn't up), so crafting high class relict oil will increase your damage output. Utilize potions, and both forms of dodging, and perhaps consider upgrading gear (if possible.) All those things combined with a little bit of skill allowed me to beat him on death march. Final Tip: I'm fairly sure he will use black spirits to heal only 3 times. If your willing to play it super safe, you can just let him heal and drop his HP 4 times. It's what I had to do, to an extent. Final Tip #2: Remember, hitting in the back does more damage. Do it when he's stunned.

1 ReplySo first don't let him hit you obviously, because he regens health. Secondly when he goes to attack the black phantoms he summons you can get a couple good heavy attacks in on his back. (I'm not sure if you can attack the black phantoms so he doesn't get health but I'd try and see). Last just watch for him to get his spade stuck in the ground and get as much health off as possible. Whirl is an awesome skill for this moment. Other than that just try to keep him from regen any health and good luck!

2 RepliesWhen you do kill him make sure you loot his body afterwards! Good luck it's an easy fight once you see his patterns
