First of all, yes I know this is the Lore section and this isn't Lore-related. You must understand though. This is the best place for genuine replies and it's not crowded with LFG.
Now that that's out of the way, back to my post.
I love using emotes to make my Fireteam members laugh. A well placed emote can do an awful lot. Some of my favourite setups so far have been:
1. During the King's Fall raid in the Basilica at the beginning of the totems checkpoint. Run towards all the acolytes worshiping the gate to the Warpriest and use the Bow Down emote in the centre of them.
2. When someone crucial to your Fireteam's strategy dies then use the Sorrow emote, this one doesn't particularly get as many laughs but I find it funny and I'm too stubborn to stop doing it cause I find it funny.
3. When someone makes a clutch save when everyone thinks it's going to be a wipe or you'll lose the Elimination match or whatever. Use the Safe emote. Some people laugh some don't just make sure not to do it when there is a spawn sniper.
4. Any Taunt emote after killing someone who was on a kill streak or a boss that was either really easy or really difficult.
If you find then post pointless then I have three things to say to you:
1. You are half correct.
2. Emotes actually are good for comedy and some people don't know how to use them that way.
3. I got bored.
Goodbye Guardians!
I hope this was semi-informative!
Edit: When a couple is being all lovey-dovey in their mic I use the Charmed emote and they start laughing.

5 RepliesI tend to use the Fist Bump Emote whenever I land headshots on my Queenbreakers Bow or hand cannon kills (if it has Firefly perk in it)
-
I use shrug. Generally use is after I respawn when someone has tbagged and/or used some taunting emote after killing me. I feel like they see it and it take all their joy away. Like: "Damn it, he just shrugged that off. Why isn't he salty?!"

3 RepliesEdited by Stormhawk118: 8/15/2016 8:07:51 AMMy tradition, when valus ta'aurc comes out of his door, I air guitar with him unloading in the air around me Another favorite is having a friend in the fireteam, and when a randy inevitably waves to you in prison of elders, just yawn at them while your buddy does the "no" emote You or a friend doing something totally badass and then yawning right after is also pretty funny
-
2 RepliesI very often praise the (sun) light when spawning a boss in a strike/raid or when reviving someone.
-
1 ReplyI try but I don't have a whole lotta emotes. Generally when I'm playing on the Malok strike, I try and get in next to the other Acolytes around the Shrine to Oryx and 'Praise The Gun'. Good for a quick chuckle.
-
5 RepliesI use the high five emote to slap people
-
Well I mean, that is what they are meant for

1 ReplyHonestly my favorite is "blows a kiss". When accompanied with telling someone they can kiss their ass goodbye it can make for some interesting scenarios. Or a kiss goodbye is always good when someone falls off the map amor gets destroyed by a boss. Also if you get seduced by the dance of a Titan you can very easily show your interest.
-
Someone and I got into a friendly emote war during a match tonight. He'd blow a kiss every time he killed me, I'd grieve every time I killed him. Back and forth the entire match this went on. My team ended up winning, and a few GG messages were exchanged between the 2 of us. Fun times.
-
Oh yeah. Inferno, I caught a guy sniping in the back. So I danced and waved. He must have noticed the kill feed because he slowly started to turn left then quickly tried shade stepping away. I blasted him then grieved on his corpse.
-
I use the emotes like the Just do it emote when ever my Tema looses the lead in rift just for a good laugh
-
Thumbs down emote always ready when opening packages. Its always needed.
-
Best use of an emote I've seen was when the 'Carlton' just came out, we decided to do Oryx and just as we were finishing off Oryx a member of my fireteam thought it would be a great idea to go stand underneath Oryx and do the Carlton thinking we were about to finish him off, let's just say it didn't end well as we didn't managed to do enough damage which resulted in a wipe lol
-
Oh yea when I see people use emotes for comedy I always burst out laughing. Most hilarious thing ever. There's nothing funnier. Great comedy
-
When Oryx comes around I do the Blows Kiss emote.
-
When I was doing King's Fall as my Hunter last week, every time someone else got Torn Between Dimensions, I'd do the Disagree emote. I love running the platforms so much that my nickname in that group was "Butterfly". But when the runner failed and I knew that we wouldn't get to the orb in time, I just threw myself off the side. Group: "Hey, where'd Firewing go?" Me: "I took the easy way out."
-
I use Come At Me for everything.
-
I love using the grief emote whenever I don't get a legendary or exotic. I use the I have no idea as a way to make my friends and I laugh whenever things happen like getting Cabal Phalanxed across the map.
-
1 ReplyWhen I'm in a strike I just run up to a high levelled enemy or a boss and use the high five emote. Ok you die but the last time I did it I left my mate and myself in stitches
-
Just yesterday. I was in a clash match, a defender Titan popped their bubble, stood in it and waved at me. I ran in, FoH, and waved at their floating orb. They probably didn't think it was funny, but I laughed. 😜
-
Comedy and baiting.
-
I just slow clap for everybody.
-
I use the shrug emote when somebody in party chat doesnt listen and ends up dead. That can get a few laughs sometimes
-
Not to be rude, but I thought emotes were designed for laughs. All I use them for is comedy.
-
I've done the Worship your gun emote at the totems before, everyone in the party couldn't breath for a good thirty seconds. I also use to Mind Blown emote whenever we kill a boss or something underwhelming (like when you throw a grenade at an enemy and it just disappears) happens
-
Edited by Pocket Fox: 8/15/2016 12:02:56 PMIn PvP when a Titan pops a bubble, I run right up to it and grieve right in front of him (just outside the bubble). You'd be surprised how many Titans just stay in there and stare at me (or dance) instead of stepping out to kill the defenseless, grieving little hunter.
