First of all, yes I know this is the Lore section and this isn't Lore-related. You must understand though. This is the best place for genuine replies and it's not crowded with LFG.
Now that that's out of the way, back to my post.
I love using emotes to make my Fireteam members laugh. A well placed emote can do an awful lot. Some of my favourite setups so far have been:
1. During the King's Fall raid in the Basilica at the beginning of the totems checkpoint. Run towards all the acolytes worshiping the gate to the Warpriest and use the Bow Down emote in the centre of them.
2. When someone crucial to your Fireteam's strategy dies then use the Sorrow emote, this one doesn't particularly get as many laughs but I find it funny and I'm too stubborn to stop doing it cause I find it funny.
3. When someone makes a clutch save when everyone thinks it's going to be a wipe or you'll lose the Elimination match or whatever. Use the Safe emote. Some people laugh some don't just make sure not to do it when there is a spawn sniper.
4. Any Taunt emote after killing someone who was on a kill streak or a boss that was either really easy or really difficult.
If you find then post pointless then I have three things to say to you:
1. You are half correct.
2. Emotes actually are good for comedy and some people don't know how to use them that way.
3. I got bored.
Goodbye Guardians!
I hope this was semi-informative!
Edit: When a couple is being all lovey-dovey in their mic I use the Charmed emote and they start laughing.

1 ReplyI use the Shia emote before boss fights and when reviving dead teammates. Sometimes I use it in the Crucible if I completely shit on someone.
-
3 RepliesI have a friend who just points at everything, if she kills someone she points, if she gets revived she points, if she gets killed she points when she respawns, she points at bosses and points at patrol beacons, chests, heavy ammo, special ammo, she points when you use an emote and points when you die.

I generally time air guitar with the ending of a successful Trials match. Or use the Shia LaBeouf emote when triggering Oryx in King's Fall.
-
3 RepliesWhenever I see a Titan in a bubble, friendly or not, I will wave and dance at them. 90% of the time they will dance with me. Only to have one of their asshole teammates come and kill me... Or when I arrive too late trying to push heavy I will wave and accept my demise.

Idea with a bow down is brilliant
-
2 RepliesTaken twitch can also be "the butt grabber" on other players not in your party in the tower.. Lol
-
My Titan's Facepalm works for a lot of situations. -Teammate dies on a jumping puzzle -Teammate is hyped to go into an elimination match and dies from a sniper -Teammate bags an opponent how didn't bag
I do not condone the bagging of random opponents.
-Anything stupid that anyone says.
-
2 RepliesWhen someone in your fireteam dies stupidly I use the facepalm emote

I've been using the OG blue point one lately. If someone dies in a raid or I blast them out of their super (point+dance haha) in crucible, or to say grab the heavy. It has various uses IMO.

1 ReplyWhen I have or don't have a rube for court of oryx, I stand next to the statue and use the yes or no emote, depending if I have the tune or not. (This is with randoms)
-
2 RepliesEdited by t1Chill: 8/17/2016 4:17:48 AMWhat you gotta do in trials is rude taunt them as time expires, or use the warlock circle dance on their orb and it kind of looks like they're getting molested, which induces rage, lol
-
1 ReplyI use the sorrow emote all the time because it reminds me of Calculon from Futurama, I even imagine him yelling as he falls to his knees... "Nooooooooooooo!!!"
-
When capturing a control point in zone I use the bring it on emote and watch as the guy running toward me kills me with a shotgun.
-
I always break out the "safe" emote when people make the KF jump puzzles or just barely escape dying, it cracks me up.
-
Whenever I'm in trials and a teammate peeks and gets sniped I salute them
-
The Boo! Emote from festival of the lost always looks funny and gets a laugh from my fireteam every time. Also I know it's old and everyone already does it but pointing back at Crota during the Crota's End raid
-
2 RepliesWent in for a kill with fist of panic while 4 enemy players were picking up heavy. Got into perfect stike distance. Launched and missed completly. They all turned to see what just happened. Could have fired my primary. Just waved. I thought it looked funny. They prolly just thought what an idiot.
-
I blow a kiss at raid bosses before killing them
-
I always use the facepalm emote. That's what 90% of my Destiny experience leads to. Strikes, Crucible, Raids, etc. I'll be using it at least 5 times.
-
>Large wave of yellow heath enemies >Oh,please emote >say "i'm being punished ain't I." You are now Raph from TMNT.
-
1 Replyi use taken jitter when i hit a nice sniper clip because it makes you look like a robot
-
3 RepliesI only ever used the pointing and waving emotes to alert fellow players if I found the Wolf Chest on Patrols back during the HoW expansion. Aside from that I don't use them.
-
2 RepliesSorrow emote whilst Darth Vader says "NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!".

I like throwing tantrums
