Going to be REAL unhappy, because i liked the vog style of ranking...
the last 2 expansions have let every tom, dick and Harry get to max light without doing end game raids.. (pretty quickly)
so bungie make it real real hard to max out on the next one please...
i really want to be tested again like the first time i entered the abyss @ 28 on my slow ass titan.
vog was before lfg and i didn't have the patience for spamming invites at the tower so i mainly played crota, so much fun.
I've gone off topic here, so the short end is
BUNGIE i want my fingers to bleed before i even get close to competing a raid from start to finish feeling like I've been in the mother of all battles.
that is all
amen gaurdians
edit1 this is just how i want to rank up as i got to 335 pretty easily then got bored.. so now it's just pvp and the odd strike till ROI.. i don't want the same again😢
EDIT 2... a lot of people don't like to raid, and with that comes anger at people like me who love to raid. am not saying just raids give you end game gear. what i am saying is it should be harder to get to max light..
IB TOO and maybe nightfalls should be the only things that give max light(also the blue flaming skull)
that is all

I only do Patrols and I'm max light

6 RepliesAnd those that don't care for raids are left where exactly?? Like or not - there is a sector of players that play Destiny just for PvP and ToO and IB are their end-game content.. If you feel that you reached 335 too quickly, then perhaps you need to cut back on the amount of time you're playing and do something other than playing Destiny. So stop being a PvE snob and let people have options in how they get to the max light level. signed a PvE player

3 RepliesYou want your fingers to bleed? Must not have a job, woman, or any other hobby.. It's game meant for entertainment..
-
3 RepliesMaybe I'm weird, but being stuck at a certain level for months and months all because a random number generator refused to hand you one specific item you needed wasn't very fun or well-designed, imo.
-
2 RepliesNo, Ppl who dont play raid should be able to get max light too. Last raid was BS 90% jump puzzles 5% shooting, 5% standing still. I dont hate jump puzzles, But 1 is enough.
-
5 RepliesAs an experienced raider and someone that was forced to wear Sunbreakers so one could be a 30, I say to hell with that. VoG drops are flat out unforgiving. I have a buddy that still doesn't have a Fatebringer... and whenever we do VoG we all bring ours out....
-
Because there is absolutely NOTHING else impressive about you other than your amazing ability to complete raids and acquire imaginary status in a game that is really nothing more than an entertaining hobby that people have spent a portion of their paycheck on, not the allowance they get from mommy...and anyone playing for pure entertainment and as a break from having jobs and raising kids shouldn't be able to have access to a NUMBER because you want to feel superior? In a VIDEO GAME? You are special beyond words.

Yeah no. When I buy a car, I get everything I paid for. I don't have to earn my satellite radio or cruise control. Really, I should be offered everything in the game I purchased. The only thing I have to earn is a paycheck.

7 RepliesOnly no-skilled, friendless, anti-social gamers want an easy leveling system and want max rewards for minimal effort. These are the same players looking for carries and crying nerfs. Bungie needs to bring back the challenging aspect with corresponding loot. There are so many ways to find complete teams and clans now between the forums and LFG sites. Year 1 proved difficult to reach max level due to the lack of these options.

Tom, dick, and Harry can get to max light level doing end game pvp
-
l destinylfg has been around since vog launched. it was how i met my 1st raid group. we still raid together.
-
2 RepliesSo what you're saying is, you don't want to lose snowflake status and that bungie should exclude roughly 80 percent of the player base from getting max light? Good luck with that.
-
2 RepliesI think that reaching max light should be challenging, and rather than have max light be an end-goal, have activities that give more tangible rewards which reflect the challenges you've overcome. I also think that there shoukd be activities that are still very challenging to complete, even at max light, so that max light isn't really a goal, it's just a step that allows you to progress into the end game stuff.
-
4 RepliesI never made it past 24 in The dank below or house.
-
Not going to happen! Bungie already said they are going to keep the infusion process the same. The only thing they could do to stop the progression is less chances or drops for max light gear. Depending on what the next max light level is, there will probably be plenty of people close to it on day 1.
-
3 RepliesUmm no. People don't like to teach raid mechanis to noobs, thus leaving people like me -blam!-ed for wanting to complete one stupid raid. Got invited to one and heard the others talkin about booting me so a regular could come back. I promptly left
-
So you're saying only PvE players should be able to reach max light?
-
6 RepliesFinish Those Triumphs, then we'll talk
-
2 RepliesI'm not seeing any max rank toons?
-
1 ReplyImagine if trials was the only way to get to the highest rank?

I liked the old light system simply because to me it was much more satisfying reaching level 30, 32, and 34 on all 3 characters. All you had to worry about was helmet, gauntlets, chest piece, boots and that's IT!! I didn't have to worry about stupid weapons affecting light level because it wasn't necessary it made sense. This light system is simply stupid but we have to live through it till Destiny 2. Why must I have to worry about my weapons being at 335 also, so dumb this concept. I love the game but this light system needs to be reworked.

I got from 318 to 335 doing only crucible activitys.
-
Max light should be easily attainable by every player. Difficulty should not stem from being underleveled. And your snowflake status should come from your gear and the activities you obtain it from.
-
They need to get rid of the "participation light" coming from ToC and IB.
