100% sure-fire way to get Longbow!
I'd just like to clue everyone in on how to acquire the Longbow: when opening a crucible package, make sure you have a [b]310 Invective [/b]in the special ammo slot.
IT IS VERY IMPORTANT THAT YOU DON'T EQUIP IT ON PURPOSE!
It must be equipped by a third party app as a placeholder when you transfer over your previously equipped special weapon to another character or this won't work.
I have only ever gotten one Longbow, and it was when I had the 310 Invective equipped [i]by chance[/i], so we can all agree this works 100% of the time, guaranteed.

14 RepliesHilarious post but all kidding aside you actually can boost your chances of getting certain weapons from packages through the "smart loot system". The smart loot system is intended to, give small incremental increases in power by dropping items in categories which are holding your light level back. So if your 320 light overall but have a 305 rocket launcher then your odds of getting a heavy weapon drop are increased somewhat. Obviously this isn't hard science, or anything guaranteed but if really are searching for that one specific weapon that equip a low light item in that slot to boost your chances (might as well equip something from year 1 so it's really low light). Obviously it will lower your overall light but it will increase your chance of getting a drop in that category which means increased chance of getting the item you want. It's not 100% or anything like that but can help.

Make sure you use a lure on the shaxx and sweeper bot pokestops first though. More longbows spawn for you to catch

4 RepliesALTERNATE METHOD: Create a new character. it NEEDS to be an awoken female. Go through the start sequence. After you gain control of your character, press up on the d-pad. You now have your long bow. (i know, i'm the worst)

It's all RNG, chances of getting is highly likely if you always use a sniper, I've got over 15 of these, finally got good perks for year 2. -

The way I got one is by equipping the no land beyond and the crows eye and I tricked the game into thinking I needed a new secondary weapon so it gave me the longbow. [spoiler] I don't have any of the 3 weapons mentioned in this comment [/spoiler]

4 RepliesEdited by facelessman: 7/19/2016 6:09:20 PMI have developed a full proof method to get whatever u want from a pack (even things the package cant drop). Here are the steps: 1. Get a goat 2. Get a knife with a handle made from the bones of a dolphin and the blade must be made of silver with an obsidian lining 3. Next u need some sort of altar, i prefer my alters to be black (i prefer obsidian since it seems to work the best for bungie rituals) but any type of stone will work 4. Now that u have all the materials, u must now drug or somehow incapacitate the goat, make sure you do not kill it 5. With your now incapacitated goat, you need enough warm flowing blood from the goat to draw a heptagram, again make sure u do not kill the goat, i recommend the use of a syringe but if u feel skilled enough with the sacrificial knife, the dark gods prefer the knife 6. Now place ur destiny disc or ur ps4 if you Downloaded the game in the center of the heptagram 7. Now sing the bungie hymn and pray to the dark gods for your desired drop 8. Now as you are chanting, cut the live heart out of the goat (now its ok for the goat to die) and anoint your ps4 or destiny game disc in the goat blood from the still beating heart 9. Now pin the remains of the goat to the alter with the knife 10. Turn destiny back on and open ur package and enjoy your new weapon!
