Is a CP 36 squirtle good
The upgrade bar isnt even 30% full so if I upgrade the hell out if it then evolve and repeat could I get like a 1200 bastoise?

I was a level 7 and I hatched a 129cp squirtle. Got pretty damn lucky, considering I'm in the damn desert! 😋

If you power up a poke before evolving, the CP of evolved poke will be higher than if you didn't power up the previous form, the the max CP of that poke won't increase. The max CP of a Pokémon in dependent on your level.

2 RepliesPowering a pokemon up first does not affect it's evolution cp. That is based on your player level. Lesson is don't waste candies powering a pokemon up if you still need to evolve it. Only power it up if it's the final evolution, you are gonna battle with it, or want the strongest pokemon possible defending your gym.

Max CP is based on player level. eventually you can find Squirtles up to level 300+. Worry more about filling your Pokedex to level up.
