I see that this is much deeper than just disabling perks, so it is understandable that Trials needs to be cancelled until this is resolved.
Bungie probably tried to disable the perks, and the result was most likely deemed it unfit in it's current condition, it may have even caused more problems!
They are probably looking into more issues that clown cartridge/cocoon may cause. Or even other bugs entirely.
This isn't as simple as quiver was.
As a long time crucible player and gamer, I know the advantage that this exploit would have been, and as a modern day gamer I also understand that these fixes may take time, and important events such as trials must close for these repairs to take place.
Not all bugs are the same.

If you don't understand why bungie didn't try and rush a patch, just look at the Division. The dirty secret in game development?
if you try and fix one thing, there's a good chance you'll break 10 other things in the process
2 RepliesI see that this is much deeper than just disabling perks, so it is understandable that Trials needs to be cancelled until this is resolved. ~TheGreatNike This is why the great Nike is legend; levelled headed, mature response to the cancelled ToO rather than the 'fck bungie just disable the perk, fck off cheaters, stfu it's not cheating, I only play for trials day 1 player done with this game" types. 4 RepliesThey should really play test better. Bungie is notorious about launching content with game breaking bugs in it. Someone should have had the smarts to make the connection and test this. Is absolutely garbage that we players have been beta testing this game for almost 2 years.

If Rise of Iron is to be believed, I want a reworked iron banner that features guardians being deployed into matches with the potential for a fallen incursion turning the battle into PvPvE something akin to halo warzone

2 RepliesI think it's finally come to this. Just more annoying than anything else.
muted
4 RepliesOk...... but weren't you the one who just the other day posted that this wasn't going to be an issue? That it was so rare it wouldn't have any significant effect on the crucible? That players were blowing it out of proportion? I'm pretty sure it was you and you were wrong. I think that putting Bungie in such a competent light may also be a stretch on your part. Maybe you should try being a bit more objective instead of feeding the masses things they like to eat. Just sayin'.

1 ReplyAm I missing something here or?? If I remember, this "glitch" is not newly discovered. I remember reading about this months and months ago. Somehow it's just recently become more "aware" all the sudden and I guess enough people started doing it enough to the point where it "forced" bungies hand. Why didn't they fix this way back when??? /spinfoil hat

You wanna Brown nose them some more? Seemed to have a different opinion than you did the other day. ~ Be a leader, not a follower.

I have no problem with the delay. I have a problem with them ignoring cheating in PvP.

4 RepliesOr maybe they suck at their job and only really care about it if it screws up their game a lot. Remember how quick they fixed the srl book? Or how they disabled that hunter subclass perk like it was nothing?

Yeah some bugs are mosquitos while others are centipedes you would find in the temples of doom alongside Indiana Jones.

Here's an idea, say hey if you use this you'll be banned. And then ban people. The end.

Thank you!

3 RepliesI get that. But Nike, we've both seen massive misses in the testing side of things. There is a chronic breakdown in debug. And I get its probably really hard to find them all. I just don't have that kind of patience for repeated releases that are super buggy. I'm not expecting perfection, but dang, several of the missed bugs have significantly affected my user experience. And that would be fine if Bungie hadn't priced the content as they did. I'm way past the point of being irritated about year one being chopped up into DLC. It happened, it is what it is. But they absolutely maximized revenue generation from that AND microtransactions. It's time they handled business on the player experience time considerably better. Again, from the outside looking in, they continually give off the appearance of a company with a lack of leadership. Just the opinion of a customer.

2 RepliesSurprised you aren't a mod or a ninja for these forums. You do a lot already.

18 RepliesBungie makes the game not us. We should let them do their job.

There's an easy fix. Disable heavy ammo. Any heavy kills get automatic ban.
-
2 RepliesThe thing is... it's heavy round only right. So what if someone has a unlimited clown cannon, Truth tracking could take them out anyways and then heavy round would be over. I don't see this bug working in people's favor that often because, everyone should use rockets anyways to quickly end heavy round. Plus, heavy round is typically the only round that could go either way in an unbalanced fight.

2 RepliesIf i may ask , how do you see it is much deeper than just disabling clowns cartidge?

1 ReplyI bet the raids have been getting lit up, everyone trying to scramble to get that cocoon perk. I would like to see the stats for raiding this weekend compared to a week or 2 weeks ago...

1 ReplyThe only thing I really enjoy in the game. RIP me :/
