Why is everyone always getting so excited about full auto on scouts and pulses? Is such a minor convenience really worth giving up a good perk slot?
Tell me why it's worth so much to you, or why it isn't.
Edit 1: Full auto DOES NOT increase a "hidden fire rate stat." If anyone tells you this, make fun of them.
Edit 2: I will never accept over sampling as an adequate excuse. But that's just my opinion, so it's nothing personal.
Edit 3: hands down my most popular post. My goal here was to gather opinions, and maybe give some of my own to try and delve deeper into your reasoning. I now have more information than I needed and that is truly a great thing in this scenario.

I like the full auto on PDX 45, especially with SPO-28. Easy mode!!

1 ReplyThey are lazy shooters
-
IMO the only thing it's good on is Shotguns. I consider it a waste otherwise. It's very dominant on Shotties.
-
6 RepliesFull auto only actually increases the fire rate on shotguns. That's it. It's a nice perk for PvE but a totally wasted perk in PvP. People who would rather have FA on a pulse than counterbalance for PvP are totally clueless.
-
I think full auto on a fast fire rate pulse rifle is a good perk. Not so much for the slower ROF pulse rifles.
-
I got the suros pdx roll with full auto last Wednesday, and I fire faster (pulses) than the auto does. Its more of a situational use, I use it more in pve when I don't want to strain my hands
-
I'm a lazy shooter :(
-
I love it and the reason being playing for super long seasons, I get lazy, usually end up grinding undying mind or crucible and having full auto weapons is always nice. Plus it is a useful perk. Who wouldn't want a recoil free high rate of fire scout rifle that's basically a sniper vex from dark below me meta.
-
I can't place my shots as well with full auto
-
2 RepliesI got a very good DIS-47 a long while back. It has full auto. Now i am horrible at pvp so only tried it there a couple times. Hated it. In pve? I like it even LESS. Idk why but my aim with that particular scout is just horrible. WIth the VoC i never used it, i would hit the button for each shot. Then again, that's a lower rof gun so full auto is kind of dumb. A guy down a couple posts made a good point about that perk being good only on high rof guns, even then, it's not a must have and for some people like me it actually hurts my accuracy with it.

13 RepliesYes.. my Suros scout is by far my most prized possession and I've been playing since the beginning

It's a useless perk

12 RepliesEdited by CharacterZ3RO: 5/7/2016 3:09:13 PMBecause a computer is timing the trigger pull for you. This guarantees you shoot as fast as possible 100% of time, giving an advantage over flawed human reactions.

I'm enjoying the full auto PDX 45, but still prefer MIDA in trials
-
1 ReplyFull auto is a wasted perk slot on a scout. Scouts are precision weapons.
-
Its only good on the fastest firing scouts and pulse rifles. (Dis 47 and grasp of malok) Especially with a ps4 controler it is difficult to get the timing right and you often oversample and dont get your max rate of fire. So it doesn't increase actual rof, it increases ur effective rof. Ive have 3-4 suros dis-47's and i can say without a doubt i like my full auto one the best
-
4 RepliesIt's only good on the highest rate of fire in class imo. A hawksaw for instance isn't preferable with full auto, but instead something like headseeker or counterbalance.
-
1 ReplyEdited by Alley: 5/7/2016 3:03:46 PMIt gives you more attention to your aiming instead of having to squeeze the trigger repeatedly. It's just a massive convenience.
-
For lazy people, yes. For people with a decent trigger finger that would consider full auto to be a waste of a perk slot, no.
-
5 RepliesZen movement and full auto on a scout is what I really want..
-
1 ReplyOn the high RoF types it's good since you can just spray and focus more on aiming.
-
In my experience, the "perfect" timing firing (hitting the trigger right when the shot cooldown to fire as fast as possible,) can empty the mag faster than a full auto(at least on scouts
-
You can focus more on aiming instead of timing shots
-
Because auto rifles are pretty "meh"
-
I like it because I feel like my hands move less and therefore my controller moves less helping me stay on target. My favorite pulse is still oversoul edict
