So here's an idea I have about this.
You should be able to pull the ghost up, press a button to let the other two guardians know you're going to be idle and allow those two to vote to keep you or kick you.
That or have a pre determined timer start after you have been idle for a minute or two.
The ghost will pop up and test if you're still there by making you either preform three jumps, spin around a few times or input a button sequence.
If you have any ideas post them so we can maybe get something going to stop this.

Have a 'vote' system. Players select the "boot fireteam member" in the details menu under the roster tab. Once both players have done this it will give the AFKer a 10 second timer to reject the boot. If you want to sit and watch a screen to reject a boot, but won't play the game then you are one special snowflake. Leave if you find someone like this. This boot vote can be done as often as desired to catch someone who might still be monitoring but not participating. The boot denial will keep someone from being unfairly booted who actually played but the other 2 want to be dicks. This could also work if they had matchmaking in raids only there has to be 5 votes and no boot denial option. Make selectable checkpoints to avoid restarting the whole raid after a boot.

8 RepliesNo. All they have to do is add a requisite number of kills & damage done to the boss to qualify for post-match rewards (rep, engrams, marks, etc). If you're AFK so long that you don't meet the minimum requirements, you don't get shit.

I can't be arsed with any system I have to involve myself in while I'm playing a strike, I'm there to run around shooting bad guys and have fun. With optional dancing. Why not just have a system that automatically kicks a player that's inactive for 60 seconds three times or more? That way an afk'er will still get booted before the boss even when the "Joining Allies..." mechanic kicks in.

An optional solo option would be nice, sometimes randoms make it more work than needs to be

Here's an idea, wash your feet

4 RepliesI don't know why people get so worked up about strikes. It's a fairly casual mode. Most can be soloed and certainly beaten in 10 min with 3 people. If you want control over this then make a fireteam. Otherwise suck it up and live with it.

1 ReplyNah, the one's that are really annoying are the people who stick around you and kamikaze the whole time at the point where you don't bother reviving anymore since they are not contributing in any way and have a measly amount of kills by the end of the strike. Probably didn't even self respawn right when their timer was ready.

I don't like idlers at all but voting to kick is so troubling. I think Bungie geeks this way as well. If you ever been kicked b4 getting end strike rewards you know how frustrating it is. I know you will say but you have to be idle to do it. I can one up u. So today I was running strikes and this guy would go run around the planet the entire time. When the boss cane up he would run it. So technically he wasn't idle but the strike was 2 manned considering this guy's dick move. I was super pissed at this, however I did get 2 exotics from 3oc drops and this was a lvl 20 strike btw. He also have the nerve to add me as a friend.
