High RoF/Low Impact Autos. (Doctrine of Passing/Arminius-D)
If you couldn't guess this, jump into Crucible for a few matches and see why....
Since the Doctrine is dropping much more often, and the Arminius-D drops every couple weeks from the Gunsmith, the new Meta is plain and simple. It hasn't changed. Even after the April Update. I used to match those guns using Dead Orbit's Paleocontact Auto and the Monte Carlo. But since the supposed "nerf" these weapon archetypes received, the Doctrine type Autos now overpower nearly every gun that comes at them.
So far, I've run Trials each week to get this gun from the Gold Tier bounties. I still have not received mine yet. I want to be able to see first hand what makes this gun so OP. Luckily, I received a Rare Class Auto Rifle of that same archetype and tried first hand in Crucible. It only had Counterbalance as the only stability increase so I never got to experience what a real stable weapon of this archetype could be like. But here's what I believe that could change this gun from being too OP over all the guns.....
-Nearly every roll I've seen on Doctrine/Arminius-D have both (or 3) of the following:
—Counterbalance
—Persistence
—Hidden Hand
—Perfect Balance
—Hand-Laid Stock
—Rifled Barrel
For this gun to balance out with all the others out there, you should be only able to have 1 of these on the gun. Not 2 or 3. Only ONE!
Back in Y1, no one used these Autos because they never had any rolls that increased stability. Some did, but only had it in 1 of the slots, so these guns would just fly over everyone's heads and never used. If these guns from Y1 had the rolls for what they currently have, they would have never been buffed, but continued to get nerfed.
So I ask you, change the perk rolls on these guns. These are the only weapons used in Crucible by those who actually own them. Those that don't still run with Mida, Monte Carlo, TLW, etc. to counterattack those that have the Doctrine/Arminius. The weapon I used killed players off just as fast as the Doctrine, but had much less stability and aim assist, so it was a bigger fight on my end to kill off other players.

I have both, but pulse rifles just perform better for me

Haakon's Hatchet yo!
-
Got my doctrine from my first gold package lol
-
Don't know about anyone else...but I've been spitting on auto users with my aegis. Got it with perfect balance and counterbalance... The thing seems to have no drop off in damage no matter the range. So I been tearing apart snipers, doctrines and more or less everything else too :P
-
Not to mention all of the gold tier bounties I've opened.....rocket launchers and shotguns. Never a primary.
-
Been flawless 7 times. 4 inward lamp adepts, 2 reflection sum adepts, and 1 water star adept.....still no doctrine. -blam!- you bungie.
-
4 RepliesWell now you can do 12 gold bounties a week. You should have no problem getting one
-
Rolls weren't the reason nobody used AR's in year one. The giant nerf during the dark below was the reason. Pre-nerf there were lots of different autos that were great

1 ReplyWrong. The new meta is fusion rifles. At least for me, that is. lol I've gotten so much hate mail since I started using the Vacancy and my old max stability Snakebite Surgeon again. They make shotgunners cry, plus they're one of the more satisfying weapons to get a kill with

3 RepliesEdited by Erijian: 4/25/2016 8:07:27 PMThose guns are popular because they're forgiving. They don't have a crazy TTK when compared to others in their weapon class or anything like that; they just require the least amount of effort and let you miss precision hits without being punished too hard.
-
You can only get this weapon in crucible, right?
-
Dont forget fusion rifles

4 RepliesMy meta is First Curse...I die a lot but have great fun along the way. Getting a head shot kill feels great though... But my KD is dreadful so what do I know!
-
Got it from my first gold tier bounty last trials. It's pretty neat so no don't nerf it or change anything about it for -blam!-s sake. there's been matches I've destroyed with it and plenty more where people with handcannons and scouts destroy me first and keep me at the bottom of the team. Honestly the way I see it, it depends on the player. no one that's garbage can get a auto with high fire rate and out of nowhere be anywhere near godly. Sure autos are on the rise but god damn it's about time since for a long while everyone considered them garbage.

I've enjoyed my soulstealers claw it's not perfect but I've been liking it..that and hawksaw pulse rifles have always been fun I think I blame Halo BR's for that ..but doctrines are everywhere even bad players have them
I know they're bad because I kill them even if they can get enough bullets sprayed in my direction like a fan
Not saying all players with it are bad I've been wrecked with no chance by it several times its just not the gun but the player using it if they can keep that head aim steady you're done but the spray and prayers just get lucky. IMO

If you can't get doctrine from trials, level up your house of judgement. The reef auto rifle I got from it is a reskinned doctrine...mine is actually a tad bit more stable than my doctrine.... Check it out on my male titan on ps4 if you want.

1 ReplyEdited by RevenanTraveler: 4/25/2016 5:19:19 PMReads post about doctrine up until OP states he doesn't have one, overpowered opinion and all other content of post disregarded. I hated Doctrine just as much as op until I actually used one and realized it isn't an auto kill. Shooting that gun at first feels like the first time you realized something other than pee pee comes out, it SPRAYS EVERYWHERE! Lel

41 RepliesThis game was more balanced at launch than it is now. Crucible has been a slow, boring, sniper campfest since the 2.0 patch.
-
I got doctrine the first time I went flawless in year 2 but never bothered using it until last week
-
1 ReplyThe primary weapon meta is anything with high rof
-
Hoping for a good roll this Wednesday. The last two I got were not as good as I expected.
-
I'd rather deal w an aggressive AR user than some kid who thinks he MLG pro w a sniper
-
Funny how those using auto rifles can't reach me before my Nirwen's or QBB takes them out. The meta is moving toward a much more diverse crucible experience. I don't feel like I need to use one gun type, I use what I enjoy.

6 RepliesPeople don't want to loose their crutches. We now have to suffer an entire summer of doctrine users.
