Get 6 rounds to start a trials match. Unless you spam shots you don't ever run out of special.
Edit: the problem isn't the AMMO it's that bungie lied. They nerfed special and heavy in PVE to supposedly balance PvP but it didn't do anything to PvP but it surely effected PVE.
Anyone that played trials knows there is more special now than before the update. If you say that there isn't you're a bloody idiot.

Edited by Dooodley: 4/17/2016 10:46:37 PMThe people who are defending it by saying "it's still easy" are freaking dense. Has anyone argued that it isnt easy? Of course it's easy, it's Destiny - the most casual AAA title (and I cringe calling it that) on the planet. It's still super easy but that's besides the point. The point is that QoL took a big hit with the ammo nerf. Or are we going to pretend that it's fun to scout for ammo or spam the primary button? But hey, if the mission was to make the game less fun to play. Then, mission completed - in old fashion. The worst part is that they're even trying to balance PvP. PvP in this game is so casual and under-developed that no efforts should go into trying to make it more balanced. And especially if it affects other parts of the game.

If the damage from special and heavy were increased in PvE, I would understand the ammo nerf. The way it is now, specials aren't special anymore.

6 RepliesEdited by Destiny89: 4/17/2016 6:55:23 PMSometimes i really wonder if anyone at Bungie actually know how game development works smh because it makes zero sense why PvP nerfs would also have an effect on PvE? shotguns used to be godly in PvE but now? there is zero point in using a shotgun against a yellow enemy the answer they said on the stream where they want to have it that the game feels the same across pvp and pve is complete BS, no one cares about having the same feeling in both modes because BOTH modes are different! PvE should NOT be punished because of PvP and same applied the other way around please hire some people that know how to make video games plz bungie if im doing a raid or the dump challenge mode i am ALWAYS out of heavy and special ammo

5 RepliesSpecial ammo is fine. Infact it's better. Less people running around with special weapons rather than their primary. And using special ammo for ultras isn't something you need. It just makes your life easier when it comes to completing shiz faster.

Adapt and improve, son. Deal with it.
but seriously Bungie does need to separate PVP and PVE changes, and post whiny shit like this ain't gonna make em listen.
3 RepliesIf you couldn't pass through hard mode with ease at level 330 when the light recommendation is 320.... Then that's on you not bungie. My team usually takes turns sending on guy to get ammo.

1 ReplyThen use no time to explain for those encounters.
-
Awww poor you for finding a new strategy to use...

4 RepliesLOL ur trash at PVP if you use a sniper. I use a shotgun, a titan, and skill. I rely on my skill to win, not my crutch like MIDA and snipers.

AAAARRRRGGGHHH

Trials still has tons of special ammo and feels unchanged. The change did nothing except affect pve

Then switch to heavy, then primary?
-
4 RepliesThey should counter this by reducing the cool down on special ammo synths. Maybe to two mins? This won't affect pvp but will help out those in pve.
-
I know it took 20 mins to kill the Goliath tank today in a heroic strike because me and my fireteam only had a hand cannon and two auto rifles

Calling them on their bs is fine. Lord knows there's plenty to go around. On the other hand, caps lock and name-calling aren't going to help anything; this kind of stuff just makes it easier for them to be dismissive of complaints. That aside, I've definitely been running out ammo more quickly in PvP. They've lied about a fair few things (the crucible lead who had no idea (lol) that the matchmaking algorithm had been adjusted, for example), but this isn't one of them. A wonderful example of how our opinions don't matter, yes. But not a lie.

This. I don't notice any difference in PvP but ammo is god awful in PvE now. It's especially awful in the raids. My team has started using sleepers instead because we just can't hold enough sniper ammo anymore.
-
This so much. It affected PVE so much more than PVE

4 RepliesEdited by Winther32: 4/17/2016 10:39:06 PMJust did golgorath challenge didn't have a problem with special ammo. Completed challenge too so I don't see that much of a problem. Warpriest was fine too :p If everyone puts like 15-18 spindle shots into them a round it's not a problem. I consistently get more special drops to compensate too.
edit: for PvP they said it didn't effect gameplay to eliminate it so they reverted back to how it was before
Worst part is they nerfed everything around snipers to the point where now snipers are the only viable meta in competitive modes. They can't nerf snipers, because they're performing exactly as they're designed right now, but they are nerfing the weapons that competed with snipers. It's like they're forcing the sniper meta on us. MIDA used HCR to combat snipers at ranged: nerfed Thorn could easily combat a sniper : nerfed Shotguns used to be more viable (although I like where they're at now): nerfed The bottom line is there used to be a plethora of weapons to choose from that would make it impossible to camp everywhere with a sniper without getting killed a lot. Now campers can rule an entire game with nothing to challenge them except more sniping. Just not fun IMO

I think it balances out with the increased light level, the knights in oryx HM are 1 shot now, war priest and golgoroth are still pretty easy just got to be a little smarter with special. It's honestly not that bad.

then learn how to use the special and heavy ammo more wisely
