RIP, King's Fall (AMMO SHORTAGE INCOMING)

Wow, guys. Just, wow. We are now going to run out of sniper ammo insanely fast when fighting [i]all[/i] the bosses. "Ok, I'll use my quillim's terminus!", you say? Yeah, nope. They nerfed that too. This was not the way to go, guys. I'm constantly running out of ammo every damage cycle on the War Priest and every time in the Shade phase of the Oryx battle as it is [b][u]now[/u][/b]. This is going to increase raid difficulty and let the more effective players do even less to make up for their less accurate brethren. 2 cycle war priest? Not anymore. 2 cycle Golgy? Idk, I usually run the gaze, but I doubt that too. Finish the Shade reliably? Nope! Now we're going to [i]need[/i] weapons of light and tethers in the shade. FML, bungie. I like both PvE and PvP. But you guys really, [u]really[/u] don't give a damn about PvE'ers, do you? I don't do these rants, but damn. I raid three times a week and i have to endure wipe after wipe already caused by random PUG guys who just aren't [i]quite[/i] awesome at the stuff. Now the struggle bus is gonna throw another axle bearing, thanks to this retarded "Oh, people are getting sniped. Let's nerf ammo into the freaking ground!" solution of of yours. GG, Bungie. GG. Edit: Because some people either don't understand how the raid boss battles work or how ammunition works with them. [b][u]For those who are going to post that the special drops are being increased, read the next section about how the King's Fall raid boss battles work:[/u][/b] [u]Basically, King's Fall was [i]designed[/i] around standing as a group basically in one spot and putting lots of highly concentrated damage on the target down range in a short window of time. Snipers are obviously the way to do this with the most efficiency because all of these targets have precision or critical damage spots. While you are standing in these "Put damage on target" zones, it is usually not possible to move around and pick up ammo that dropped somewhere else on the map, nor is it advisable to enter the menu to "pop a synth".[/u] And keep in mind, ammo synthesis have that 5:00 minute cooldown timer. So I can't see how we're not going to be digging heavily into primary ammo for these, with our special and heavy exhausted, once the patch goes in. [i]I, personally[/i] already do this now quite often. I don't see how this doesn't translate into [i]at least[/i] lower damage against raid bosses per damage cycle. Edit: Changed title to better reflect the topic content and added relevant tags. Somebody said this needs to get addressed. Let's go, guys! Git 'er done! Be loud and obnoxious! Edit: Afterthought that I'm not really against the sniper [i]"tuning"[/i] for the crucible. That said, I have never seen somebody with full sniper ammo break the game. Edit: Over 2,000 posts in this thread, folks. We were atop the trending list for about 36 hours. Nobody more important than Xur has bothered to stop by. You'd think at least Butthurt would be around by now. Edit: TL:DR... The sniper ammo nerf is going to negatively affect the KF boss fights. We need to snipe the bosses a lot really fast while not running around picking up all the ammo that's going to be raining from the sky or having time to pop a synth.

  • I don't understand how lack of ammo in my sniper will effect the shade at Oryx? If you do oryx correctly you should only have two shade encounters. And your titans in the middle use touch of malice to kill ogres. Basically you will always have special against the shade and it doesn't take much to kill it.

      • Since the max light is increasing and the difficulty of the raid is not, then you will still be able to put in the same amount of damage even though you are losing ammo.

        • You wouldn't be using anymore than 2 clips of sniper ammo every set of bombs if your team is all doing damage for oryx and then it's really easy to pick ammo again if you use tether strategies. Stop being a whiny bitch.

                • If you need full ammo for shade, your team is bad. As for the other bosses, just do it in 3 or 4 rounds? I'm not agreeing with Bungie's tomfoolery but you're blowing this way out of proportion.

                • Sniper ammo will run out fast thanks to the change, but you will have more drops waiting to refill. After you run out of sniper ammo switch to your MG and you should be fine.

                • Hey Bungie! There is a pretty easy sollution: Nerf the raid bosses. Why not? If people can't do the amount of dps that they should - nerf the bosses.

                    • I think the damage is increased due to higher lightlevel. So you need less shots for the same damage. If not, its Bungies way to increase the difficulty of the Raid.

                    • I agree nerfing our ammo was a bad idea for pve and I have sniper boots on and I still regularily run out of ammo. All of which I'm saying is in the raids. But there was a team that did the counting and snipers aren't the best for damage, sleeper and malice are the top tier damage guns thankfully, if mixed with weapons and blessing malice just chews through boss health, and having sleeper on with fusion ammo armour is really a strong combo. So let's as raiders just switch? Sucks as we all have our perfect armour more or less by now but itll keep our dps outputs up there but relies more of Titans.

                    • Ammo shouldnt be a problem with gear with extra sniper and machine gun rounds. And besides its already easy when youre 315+. At 320 i can already take a huge amount of damage. Imagine what 330+ is like. More defense and more dps.

                      • Bungie needs to "rework" whoever is in charge of weapon balance. They LITERALLY only nerfed mida, 1k stare, and terminus because they're too popular. They actually say it in the update that they're being nerfed despite being balanced because so many people use them.                           • Right, because King's Fall is so difficult lol. Warpriest and Golgoroth are a joke anyway, and the rest of the raid is ToM. Yes, it will be harder to kill Warpriest in the first cycle. Or maybe it just means you can pull out your Sleeper earlier and melt him in one go anyway...

                          • Good post and well thought out. I have never once thought special ammo was a problem in pvp or the mag size. In fact I hardly ever use sipers in pve becaus the reserve ammo supply is already so low I believe I have better DPS options. Sniper nerfs should have been just to Aim Assist and scopes. I believe fully that this will negatively impact pve because of the whining of tryhards in trials.

                              You can still use: Bertromart's Stand, Ruin Wake, Thunderlord, Baron's Ambition, The Unseeing Eye, Objective IV, or The Variable. I fail to see how losing 1 weapon makes that much of a difference given every Y2 legendary weapon can roll with Will of Light as a T2 perk. You certainly weren't using QT for cocoon...
