People have been posting various rude responses to an arachnid pf mine that is nearly harmless. This is Lily, a tailless whip scorpion. I thought the creature was a female when he was acquired, but a few months of growth extended the arm joints to the proportions of a male. He is nearly blind, and can only distinguish lighting. To sense movement, the set of legs were replaced with antennae to perceive the vibrations -- hence the title of 'whip scorpion'. This type of whip is tailless, and cannot eject acetic acid like the vinegaroons. The pedipalps are no danger as well. The front 'arms' are used for grasping prey, and only have the texture of a slightly thorny twig. Since my Lily is quite docile, I have never experienced it. As for the fangs, there is no venom, and there were no reports given of this breed actually surpassing the skin during a bite. I may put him on my face eventually take pictures as well, since that is a thing among owners.

Why are you so damn weird?

Nope. I'm sorry. Bugs are just not my thing. I'm outta here.

1 ReplyDoesn't matter if it's dangerous or not. I'm not touching that hell spawn

2 RepliesI used to have a 15' long Python. His name was Jaba! When I was a kid, I used to take naps with him. He'd hiss at anyone that got close, we were best buds! We had to donate him to a zoo when the laws changed. Stupid humans and their petty fears

1 ReplySeriously arachnids get too much hate. They kill the annoying bugs so I don't have to. Unless I know they're poisonous or they're -blam!-ing huge, they do not bother me at all.
