So basically soldiers aren't liked over here they get kicked out of pubs because they apparently cause fights and the charity for soldiers is apparently getting banned because Muslims have came over and don't like the fact that we are supporting our army. No one stops t say thank you for your service like in America they just walk past.
I just want to see your opinions on this because I've seen clips from America where everyone says thanks for your service. Thank you for reading :)

Well we say we love our soldiers, but they get terrible treatment from our government not the people. I'm talking about the V.A. I think anyone that has served their country should get a lot of respect. I never served and I feel like a p*ssy because of it. Especially if you a are a navy seal or on any elite force. These people are truly the greatest. I'd also like to think that if bad stuff happened in my country I would stay and fight for what I believe in. I wouldn't leave and go live in another country.

The only soldiers that are heroes are the drafted ones.

I'm from UK. And OP is talking bollocks. End of story.

Just cause a fella gets booted out of a pub doesn't mean we all hate the army softshite . The management has the right to kick anyone out of his premises.Army or civvy.

11 RepliesI'm sorry what? My opinion on it as a UK citizen is that your post is simply not true.

1 ReplyMaybe it was an Irish pub

Soldiers that are not drafted are not owed respect. It was their career choice, not mine. Veterans that were drafted into wars are owed respect because it was not their choice to put thrown into war.

2 RepliesThat sort of thing is happening more and more over here. I actually just saw a video of a veteran asking a restaurant if they offer a military discount and some girl was trying to give the guy shit for it. The manager ended up giving the guy a free meal, shutting the butch up and it was glorious. Anyway, what do I think of it? It's disgraceful. We've created this culture where fighting for your country is apparently wrong. Our current administration has been deliberately making our country less safe in order to not hurt someone's feelings.

3 RepliesI live in the uk and I can clarify this is shit. Even if the Muslim residents don't like it, tough shit. Just like a couple of years ago when a group of Muslims complained about Christmas decorations, they where laughed at. It's our country, it's our rules, it's our heritage.

1 ReplyThat's horrible, the only reason that your country is still around is because of your military. They created your empire, defended you from France, defended you in two world wars, and are currently standing between you and terrorism. Soldiers are treated with so much respect over here because we know this.
-
1 ReplyThat is absolutely terrible! These people are willing to risk their lives for their countrymen, and all they get in return is hate.
-
Untrue.

3 RepliesDamn. Well I'd say it's a shame that they don't get the respect they deserve. It's no secret that Europe is getting more Democratic in nature. Did this disrespect start in the liberal millennial generation? That wouldn't surprise me.

2 RepliesThat's unfortunate, although that kind of treatment is (sadly) becoming increasingly common in the States as well. More power to those men and women though. It takes a lot of courage to put your life on the line in defense of and service to one's country. To do it thanklessly in the face of ridicule and ostracization speaks well of their character. If your fellow countrymen do not appreciate your hard work and dedication, let it be some small consolation that knowing you've got the backs of our boys (and girls) is appreciated by those of us across the pond.
