Should we leave old consoles in the dust?
Honestly, it needs to happen. I played most of my Destiny career on PS3. I got a ps4 in December, and was able to buy Destiny in February. From what I understand, last gen is already struggling with Destiny as is, and I don't think they could handle private matches.
We need to move on from last gen, and move forward with Destiny. I heard that Sony was going to discontinue PS3 servers in 2017 anyway, so PlayStation users will be in the dust. If Destiny moves on to current gen, I think this game has much more potential.
I do realize that some people are less fortunate, and cannot afford to pay for a new console. That is why you should start saving now, for September. Please Bungie, move on.

I think for most on PS3 it is time to move on. I just bought a PS4 for my brother since he plays mine, I have had mine since day 1 as I am THAT guy hahaha. By the way how do you like your PS4 so far?

I was on 360 till March and finally used my money from helping neighbors to buy and XBOX 1 and honestly I have to agree. If you can't afford it put money aside and don't buy pointless stuff. That's how I did it and no I am not a rich snob I paid for it with my own money that I made.

3 RepliesHey there, I'm on the PlayStation 3, but I'm okay with Destiny 2 coming out on current-gen only. 2017 is enough time for me to part ways with my console and save up for a new one. I don't feel rushed out the door, so that feels more right. I'm looking forward to how gorgeous the graphics will be, and how smooth the gunplay will be if it's running at 60 fps.

This is absolutely a huge problem. Old hardware is bogging down the system. They are pretty much managing four games. They need to consolidate to current gen. I'm sure that won't happen until the sequel. One big thing that they need to do is allow you to port a character from one console to another. Even if you have to pay and you lose your previous character on your previous console So that way people don't take advantage of the system. I'm sick of being on Xbox and not getting the exclusives. But I don't want to start over. I'd pay $50 to port my characters, gear, and grim.

Xbox 360 was only the beginning of the end. It even had non-removable ads even after paying for Gold. All the new consoles are basically modded gaming PC's with smaller libraries. Pretty lame. It's cheaper to upgrade a PC then to buy a new console. Bungie is contractually obligated to maintain destiny and release new Destiny content to new and old consoles till 2017....

Why couldn't last gen handle private matches?Halo series (on last gen) has custom matches running custom maps. Destiny 2 when it releases will almost certainly be current gen only. I think people need to realize that the current Destiny will be on last gen until then and I highly doubt Bungie would exclude those who bought the game on last gen, besides an emote here and there.

Last gen shouldve ended last year, i agree some things should have both old and new gen. It was a smart move franchise wise to include old gen, its an upstart, you need a fanbase to kick off. But overall devs should move foward, 3.5 years into ps3/360 nobody was making ps2 games

1 ReplyDestiny 2, fine, go ahead and cut support for last gen. Destiny 1, nope, as much as other people hate it these people payed for their consoles and games just like you did. It was also released in a time when current gen had a much smaller libraries and most games were cross platform anyways. I'll admit that I play on last gen, but that is because I actually can't afford it right now, my car broke down, my gas stove broke, and my washer broke all within a few months of each other right as I was saving up for a ps4. Hopefully if nothing else breaks I will have one by this fall.
