Should we leave old consoles in the dust?
Honestly, it needs to happen. I played most of my Destiny career on PS3. I got a ps4 in December, and was able to buy Destiny in February. From what I understand, last gen is already struggling with Destiny as is, and I don't think they could handle private matches.
We need to move on from last gen, and move forward with Destiny. I heard that Sony was going to discontinue PS3 servers in 2017 anyway, so PlayStation users will be in the dust. If Destiny moves on to current gen, I think this game has much more potential.
I do realize that some people are less fortunate, and cannot afford to pay for a new console. That is why you should start saving now, for September. Please Bungie, move on.

It's honestly the harsh truth. I managed to scrape up enough money to upgrade from a 360 to a One with my combined Christmas and Birthday money last year. And I'm definitely kind of tired of the people holding destiny back. It could be so much of a better game if they would just let last gen players go.

1 ReplyYes, you cant design a game for a 10 yo console and say its not holding you back for current gen. So either it really isnt in which case we didnt need ps4's to play their vision of the game or it did and we got robbed out of bigger areas, custom games, more customization, etc....

i bought my xbox one last june but didnt start playing destiny on it until around december. more people got it after black friday and christmas and alot of my friends were still playing on 360. after playing the last few months on the one i can't bring myself to go back to the 360, the graphics are not even close and the processing power seems to make the gameplay smoother. i like the controller better also now that im used to it, the menus are kind of annoying though. game consoles aren't like cars, an old chevelle is better than a new hyundai but bc's quest for tires for coleco isnt nearly as good as destiny on the one, sometimes older is worse and technology is constantly progressing

4 RepliesDestiny 2 probably won't be on last gen. Just take a look at development going on with other games. Devs and publishers are starting to leave the 360 and PS3 behind, no longer developing for them. It happens every generation, the old ones get phased out. Bungie made a lot of excuses that last gen held the game back. If they made it for current gen only then they would have no excuses. Not that everyone believed them anyway.

Don't really think this is a question up for debate. The new consoles will have been out for nearly 4 years when destiny 2 drops. At this point if you don't have a new console you shouldn't keep dragging down games because thee old consoles just don't have the capabilities anymore

Yes. Destiny 1 is severely limited by old gen. With is using decade old technology. Play a next gen only game, like with witcher 3, batman arckham knight etc. See what a true next ten game is like and it doesn't take a lot to realise just how much old gen is holding destiny back.

2 RepliesThey admitted in a vanilla vidoc that the cosmodrome was originally intended to be twice as big, but loading times were a problem on last-gen systems. I can only imagine what else was changed. My guess would be: -frame rate -crucible match sizes -cut scenes -explorable space on other planets -raid fire team size -ships as load screens Possibly even a streamlined experience from patrol to story to strike (like borderlands before it and division after). Last gen has to go if destiny 2 hopes to compete with literally any game coming out next year.

1 ReplyActually in the contract with Activison it suggested that all the games should be on the 360 and PS3 but I could be wrong or they could change their minds. Also, although I play on 360 still, I will not be suprised if Destiny is not on old gen and agree that it should move on, or at least use the potential of the current gen and perhaps lock some stuff out of old gen (like BO3 did) to convince people to buy new consoles.
